If the horse trailer manufacturers started building rv’s and toy haulers we could say goodbye to the typical rv manufacturers that continue to sell us junk. The quality of those aluminum horse trailers are superior. After 20 years, those trailers are still as good as new. Pay attention rv manufacturers!
That already exists it's called AIRSTREAM, all aluminum and built solid, but most people won't even consider them due to the price. You get what you pay for folks.
That's true, but are there air streams that could easily be converted into a toyhauler or very large RV such as these trailers? We don't know much about air streams!
@@PavingNewPathsthe first problem is like everything. Is you would never get the people in this world on the same path of. They would still go buy the junk. Just like we know the frames are breaking on Grand Design. The people continue to go buy them 💁♂️😉😂
This is going to sound stupid but that would be sweet as hell if you guys end up with that horse hauler it would be way cheaper to convert the back for the kids then fix FRAME FLEX
i could be completely wrong here, but i do have 10+ years experience with horses. i contemplated getting a horse trailer at one time (no rv combo, just a trailer). i was trying to get an idea of the cost and of what i would need to tow it (how much truck did i need, for example). the people i spoke to kept emphasizing that a horse trailer involves towing a LIVE LOAD. for example, my horse was 17 hands tall (one hand is 4 inches, and horses are measured from the withers [like the shoulder], so the head can be way, way higher than that measurement). i had a big horse. he probably weighed about 1500 lbs. during towing, if he wanted to move around (shift his weight to the front, back or side), he was free to do so. whenever he moved in the trailer, that was 1500 lbs shifting inside the trailer. i believe that is what they meant by "LIVE LOAD". i believe it is for this reason that this rv/horse trailer that you two toured in this video is SO STURDY. i believe it has to be in order to endure 4x 1500 LIVE ANIMALS moving around as you're towing them down the road. i wonder if the solution for the rv industry will be to take a good hard look at the horse trailer industry.....?
That very well could be what they mean by live load. I'll have to ask Kevin when he gets home! Whatever the reason, these trailers run circles around RV builds in terms of sturdiness! The RV industry should definitely take lots of notes and rewrite their playbook around how horse trailers are built! I just imagine an RV with the back tack room, but instead that could be your garage space and a place for your grill, bikes or kayaks! It would be such an awesome room for any RV'er to have!
@@PavingNewPaths after i wrote that, it occurred to me that a horse trailer has to handle more than just a horse (or cow) shifting weight. if my big 'ol horse decided he wanted to BUCK in that trailer, and someone was hauling him on the highway, that trailer had to STAY IN ONE PIECE through literally WHATEVER my 1500 lb horse decided to do. so, yes, horse trailers should be MUCH, MUCH, MUCH more sturdy than a traditional RV. but i still believe that the rv industry can learn from the horse trailer industry. growing evidence seems to suggest that at least some in the rv industry are building to the lowest possible "standard" - and even failing to meet that low standard. it would be great if your channel were the catalyst to begin a whole new avenue of rv style and construction!! :D
Awe, you're so kind! I was glad to get to join Kevin in this video! We hope to do more filming together as time allows! Things have been quite hectic lately with him getting a job and me being with the kiddos!
You have a lucky friend! These things seem bomb proof and like something you could pass to the next generation when you are done using it! Unlike RV's of today that don't even make it months without major issues!
You know, or maybe you don’t, you can have a rig just like the horse trailer, custom built yo fit your growing family needs. Will take a beating, and keep in ticking. Down the road.
We wish we had known that before we purchased our GD! It would have saved us a lot of money in repairs and maintenance...not to mention heartbreak three years down the road!
If I were a full-time RV'er. I would buy this and take out the gates for the horses and make a bedroom for the kids and the rest of the area a family room!
The only thing that may be inconvenient about this floorplan if you made the conversion is that if someone was in the restroom, you'd have no access from inside to get from room to room.
Bloomer trailers in Salado tx builds these trailers. I bet they can custom build one for just people. Also, if you guys get a race trailer like this and convert the garage for living. Horse and race trailers are built a lot better than rvs
Wow! I will not be showing this to my daughter! Very nice, horse camping is a blast. We never could afford something like this so it was a 2 horse bumper pull and sleeping under the stars. It was still the best time ever. Great video! God Bless you all.
I love camping with my horse trailer. It's not the same exact set up because they don't consider mine living quarters because there's no kitchen bathroom any of that running water. They consider it a comfort package. It's got a sleeping area with an air conditioner. /heater, and then there's a cooler in the horse area. We scrape any poop out if we took the horses lay down tarps , and then the kid sleep back there.
With very little mods those are the ultimate toy haulers. And ya'll are correct: no comparison when it comes to strength and durability when compared to any R.V. Apples and oranges. Think for a moment: there could be $200,000.00 (or more) worth of horses in the back. Do you think the trailer manufacturer would go cheap based on their open liability should the frame break?
We discussed that as we were touring it! The horses in the back cost more than the truck and trailer combined, so of course the rig is going to be stout!
When living beings are being towed, apparently the build quality changes. Perhaps we should tell the RV industry we now want to be in our RV as it is being towed so we can get better build quality out of them!
We bred Paint horses for over 30 years. We had four horse trailers with living quarters in them and loved to camp in them. We had a big ramp on the back and loaded our bikes and could have taken the the golf cart in the back had we wanted to. It was awesome and we NEVER had frame issues with any of them. When we got out of horses, we were so disappointed with the Rv trailers, we will be going back to a horse trailer with living quarters.
Wow, four horse trailers! That sounds amazing! I can imagine your disappointment in going from such great horse trailers to an RV and do not blame you one bit for going back to a horse trailer! The peace of mind of knowing everything isn't going to break every time you move it is worth its weight in gold!
We had a 4 horse " Trails West" with living quarters for several years, towed it with my 2005 Ram/3500/Cummins, and went from So. Calif. to Utah, Nevada, Wyoming, South Dakota, across Yellowstone, and into Montana then thru Washington, Oregon, and back to "Kommifornia. We had only two horses at the time, but they were comfy and rested after driving for 4-5 hrs a day, then unload to eat and stretch. We went to so many beautiful spots and rode for hours over a 30 day period in 2015. The hard part was getting enough space to unload every day for stretching. So..we used a lot of favors from Ranches, and Horse people along our way. Made some permanent friends too ! THANKS HORSE PEOPLE !! Steve
This was a great video! I’ve seen other RVers review horse trailers and they have said the same thing, the quality is impressive. I agree with some others on here, you guys should buy this, Kevin could easily convert the horse barn to a kids kingdom! 😊🤷♂️
Wow finally someone did a comparison video. Thank you. I own a living quarter horse trailer and when we go primitive camping or usfs campground we take the horse trailer. I take out the gates in the back, just lift them up and walk them out. Clean out the horse poop wood shavings. I then put the canoe , bikes, and motorcycle back there. Quality is night and day difference. Best part they hold their resale value. Nothing like an rv. The bad, in some states due to it being classified as livestock trailer with 7000+ axles, so two axles being 14,000 pounds you might need a commercial drivers license. In Ca currently you do! Meaning in Ca attending a commercial driving school. By next year you need only a class B same as a fifth wheel with the same weight rating. Thanks to a local senator that understood the difference, got a bill in got the votes and fixed it.
You read our mind about that back area being a great cargo/toyhauler space! Kayaks, e-bikes, etc. work perfectly back there! You bring up some valid points about the driver's license that we hadn't considered! Thanks for sharing your perspective! And we can see how these would hold their resale value! As I said in a previous comment, these feel like you could pass them down to the next generation without much issue, whereas an RV begins deteriorating within months of owning it.
We had a Sundowner toy hauler. It had plenty of quality issues, but the inherent ruggedness was there. The biggest downside for me, being older than you, is crawling in and out of the bunk in the gooseneck. Making the bed is a pain. No basement storage. Also, horse trailers are very heavy on the hitch. Our Sundowner put @4,700 pounds on the hitch. If I built another one, I'd go with Cimarron.
Yes, crawling into the gooseneck portion of the rig could be a challenge for some! I was quite surprised that once in that area you could sit straight up and not hit the roof. Some feel like you have to army crawl in and out if they have a low clearance!
You are correct, about the horse trailers, they are built very well. HOWEVER, just understand like the RVs there are also low end and high end horse trailers. We have owned low to medium end trailers (based upon price and quality) and I can say both had very sturdy frames. Where they differ is the quality of the interior outfitting. Last comment is yes, I had never really thought about it but you are right. If the horse trailer manufacturers wake up to the fact the RV industry is facing something of an epidemic regarding frame flex, then there is a unique window of time to step into that space with the more sturdy horse trailer design premise and start building RVs as well. I would venture to say they would sell like hotcakes just on the ability to say they have eliminated the frame flex issues. These things are built sturdy because they carry live cargo that weights a lot, typically costs a lot, and in most cases are someone's very special pet, not just a work animal only. As a result, the manufacturers have had to build sturdy trailers for this "precious cargo". 🙂
I wonder if even the worst built horse trailer is better than most RV's on the market today? I think you are correct that the horse trailer manufacturers could really capitalize on the epidemic facing the RV industry! If only the RV industry treated their customers with such care as the horse trailer industry does with their precious cargo! I joked that maybe we should tell the RV industry we'll be riding in the rigs from now on so that they will begin building them to live cargo specs!
RV/horse trailer is awesome. It would be great if the people who build these would also build a full RV. We, know the RV industry currently uses the excuse of rough roads , earthquake going down the road ( blah blah blah ) but as we see here this RV/horse trailer is built for rough. Thanks for sharing.
It would be awesome! And the RV industry has an excuse for everything. Anywhere they can take blame off of their poor build quality and materials, they will use as their excuse as to why the rigs they build aren't holding up!
Love it! Built so much better. I looked at some models online, I’m pretty sure they built some for small vehicles too. All aluminum! great option for RV enthusiasts.
We were in an "RV Resort" and one of these parked across from us. Being from East TX (Athens) and in the western wear business, we knew what it was. Several neighbors were complaining. They had no idea it was much more expensive than their RVs! Thanks for the video! I have never actually been inside one. We had cows, but never horses. Not that we could afford to go in that much style!!!
Beautiful trailer. I have a 2003 Hart 3 horse. Its a tiny home compared to that on, just a 25' box with a 10' short wall, not family friendly, lol. But we do have 4 dogs with us, lol. Clean out the back and leave the walk thru door open for the dogs. I bought it used in 2006, they said it was $65,000 new. I love my Hart, still in great shape.
That's awesome that you have something that works well for you and your pups! Buddy would be in hog heaven if he had an entire room to himself! Lucky dogs!
Very cool video! Owning one of these, i can say that the one area where you were probably a little off the mark is on tank size. Because these sit low to the ground for the horses there is significantly less space under the floor for tanks. That's why fresh water is stored in the dinette seats, there are 2 tanks so that one can be used to water the horses (who do not use the campers facilities) My trailer has 35 gallons each for black and grey, and they leave out a floor joist where the tank is mounted to even make them that large. The floor is still rock solid, you cant tell those joist are missing. Its also not where the horses walk, but there are compromises in any design, and storage tank capacity is downside to this type of trailer.
As far as the pin weight goes, the horse trailer industry assumes the farmer is going to have a big dually. The RV industry tries to keep the pin as light as possible to tow with smaller trucks. I do think anything over 16k should probably have higher pin weight to force people into a dually though.
We agree. Quit making light trailers so that you appeal to a larger customer base. If someone is in the market for a big rig, they need a big truck to pull it, and they need to know it is sitting on a frame that can handle the big load!
You two are amazing! With all the issues you have had and you continue your journey with a positive attitude!. We have a Brinkley G3500, if you ever choose to get a different rig give thought to a Brinkley.
We teach our kiddos, when life gives you lemons, you make lemonade. We are actually doing quite well, even without traveling the country as we thought we would be this year. Life/God has a way of slowing you down and making you realize what is truly important in life. We've heard so many good things about Brinkley and would love to see one in person. Glad to hear you are happy with your purchase and we pray it serves you well for years and years to come!
Might be time to part with your Grand Design and switch up. Bet it would not be terribly difficult to convert the horse stall to a traditional toy hauler garage or incredible bunkhouse.
We stay at Artillery Ridge Campground and Horse Park in Gettysburg, PA a couple times a year. You see a lot of rigs like that there camping and riding their horses on the battlefield equine trails. It's a really nice RV park too with all the amenities. We take the motor home and haul the horses with the truck since we're only about an hour and a half away. That's a very nice rig and I'm sure it will sell quickly.
I think these trailers would make a good work from the road rig because you could take all the stuff for the horses out and put tools in it and have a little shop
@@PavingNewPaths They don't make them anymore. They were were Lakota / Monaco. They were built at the Holiday Rambler plant. Mine is 07. Got in 2021. I am stationary. Biggest problem is these older units are built better depending on brand but many RV Resorts and campgrounds limit vehicle age to 10 years old or newer for anything more than short term.
Great job guys, love the trailer. Believe it or not, you can expand the living quarters and make it into a rv toy hauler from the get-go... If you don't mind the small master I would rather have this trailer made into an rv over any of the RV brands.. plus it tows better with a gooseneck
Enjoyed the grand tour of the trailer, always wonder what they were like on the inside. Well efficient and comfortable for humans and horses. I give it a 👍 well maybe 👍👍
Wow great video, very impressed with this rv/horse trailer combo. They need to make a motorcycle trailer like that. The construction looks so strong and well thought out. Glad Alicia joined in this video. ❤
That would be awesome to have a toyhauler like this! A place for motorcycles, e- bikes, kayaks, etc! I was glad to join Kevin for this video and hope to make it into more videos as time allows!
Find a new trailer like this but shorter and re do the horse part and no more worries about the frame break.i was camping at a Koa in Willits California and a couple had bought a horse trailer like that new a put a grand front room next to the door where the bathroom is ant the most rear of the trailer was a very nice bed room . The grand kids and family slept over the pin box .and the rest of the family slept in the make shift bedding . They were tired of the rv breakage and had no more problems. I had the pleasure of the ture it was an awesome trailer. I couldn't talk my wife into doing that. The nice thing is the low roof line .tows alot better in the wind and you don't have to worry about the trees as much . I saw this trailer in 1999. Awesome video Denis from Santa Rosa CA.
We haven't researched the prices of new or used, since we aren't currently in the market, but it would be cool to know! The quality is top notch on these trailers!
Thank you for sharing this horse Trailor. It would be easy to convert the horse part into more livable or sleepable space. What a great trailer. I also think you could put a 100 pound propane tank up front. I’m in impressed!! Thank you again for sharing. 😊😊
We actually considered trading in our 5th wheel for a trailer like this but the price of that trailer your showing is probably, easily over 100K new. We've been looking for a nice used horse trailer and the prices....holy sh*t! You cant even get into a nice used bumper pull for under 10K and thats for something from the early 2000's. A new 2 horse slant with a small tack room is anywhere from 15-22K!
They are pricey, but they are an investment and will still be as good in 20 years as they are when they are new. You definitely can't say that about RV's of today!
After 20 years or so on the road as a vender we looked into a sundowner horse trailer. Custom made for us as venders was 120000. Now that was about 18 years ago. Back then you could get better made rvs than now. The reason we didnt get one was wife came down with breast cancer.
Wow, that is a hefty price tag, even with today's inflated prices! But, I bet it holds it's value better than RV's because it is such a sturdy design. So sorry to hear of your wife's diagnosis, we pray she fully recovered and is living a healthy life today!
Horse trailers do make RVs, and they are normally toy haulers. Bison are on the lower end. Sundowner are a top end one, Featherlite are nice too. Some Exiss are good and some are cheap made like the Bison.
It's so crazy to us that we learned from viewers that Bison is not at the top end. It feels leaps and bounds above the quality you get with RV manufacturers for fifth wheels! For us, it feels like luxury compared to our RV!
@PavingNewPaths any horse trailer is better than the rvs!! We have a middle of the road horse trailer and it's way better than any of the toy haulers we have had. Our horse trailer is a 02 and it's in great shape!
Woweee how awesome. I had no idea them trailer was that nice. Them horses have spectacular good life ..totally l love it for the animals...10 stars from me.... oh boy a horse trailer would make a beautiful home. I didn't realize I were made so sturdy. Yeah, ., the RV industry needs to take a look. Cause that's the way to make them hint hint. Love you guys take care. Keep up the great job. And boy them animals are lucky to have you kevin. Tell Mr. Calvin Klein hello and the Swift girls hello.❤
I had no idea either! I said these horses live better than some humans! I expected the trailer to be sturdy, but not nice in terms of aesthetic appeal or design. Boy, was I wrong! I just told our kiddos you said hello and the girls asked who Calvin Klein is! Ha! Of course they know they are the Swift girls!
I have a 1999 Sundowner Sunlight 725 3 horse slant load. It has a rear tack, mid tack, slide out with jacknife sofa and dinette. It was $125,000 new. It has torsion suspension and tows easily. No chance of the frame coming apart. It is 44 feet long so tight corners can be interesting.
They are very nice trailers, This one is 48 ft and when I pulled it out of the barn, I was still in the barn! Would take some getting used to with the axles so far back compared to the RV!
Kevin good to see you and Alecia this was a good video. I wish I would have seen a horse trailer like this, before I bought my fifth wheel this would be better. You could convert the horse compartment into living area.
As we walked through this, all I could think is the story I read to the kids about the three little pigs. Our 5'er feels like it was built of straw compared to this feeling like it was built with bricks! I'd love to know if someone has done a conversion to one of these, but just haven't had the time to research it.
I have one of these units and haven't run into that issue. You cant bring horse's into most campgrounds but the way ours is setup we also haul our side by side in it. I do call first and let them know what trailer I'm bringing and confirm it will be empty and washed out. One other big challenge taking these into regular campgrounds can be the positioning of the trailer wheels which are much further back that on a bumper pull or even a 5th wheel. This means a 48' horse camper cuts corners way worse than a 48' toy hauler.
That's unfortunate considering just how nice they really are! Especially if you disclosed that there were no horses camping with you, we see no reason why they shouldn't allow these trailers!
Great idea. My neighbor has one and built a deck on his. He uses a blow up mattress in the summer and sleeps on top of it. He also says that it's so easy to haul that he forgets that he's even pulling a trailer until he comes to long hills up the highway. He loves it but says he can't get a American woman to accept it as living space. So you know. He lives in his. Later
Ideally, I think it's just for three horses so that fourth stall without feeding trough is just for access to the rear from the camper. That wouldn't be fair to the fourth horse now would it? No hay? 48' long...wow. That right there could be the ultimate toy hauler just taking out the horse dividers. Say for motorcycles/dirt bikes? Or in your case a super nice kids area with bunks and play room? May need a second A/C for back there. But that thing is built like they should be, "all" of them, not just horse trailers with living quarters. I'm sure it'll be sold fast. In excellent condition. Thanks for sharing partner!
It is setup for the horse in the stud stall or stuff stall to use a hay bag. You can put a feeder on the escape door also. If you look at the video the stall close to the front has a panel that hangs lower to keep stuff from sliding out of the stall, but is really for a stud or stallion to ride and have more separation. Keep the stud from kicking the second horse. You would want one that has a rear opening not the rear tack room for hauling other toys. They sell them without the horse stalls and a rear ramp door for toys.
@badgerpa9 Thank you for helping to answer some of these comments! You are obviously well versed in horse trailers and how they are to be used! Wasn't there a second a/c in the back? Kevin isn't home for me to ask, but I feel like when we went in there something was running pretty loud and he touched something on the bathroom wall to turn it off. Perhaps it was just the fans, though!
@@PavingNewPaths You can get an AC for the horse area installed but it would be ahead of the hay pod on the roof, I did not see one but could have missed it. Usually the horse area uses the roof vents, drop windows and the fans mounted by ceiling. Some campgrounds will frown on a horse trailer even if it has never hauled horses and only toys. You are not likely to have frame failure on a horse trailer, except rust in the rust belt.
Wow, that is a beast of a trailer! Makes me miss my horse trailer with living quarters. I agree, the rv industry should be getting with horse trailer engineers and taking notes. Another great video.
Thanks for showing us.. We have always wondered what these were like. Don't have horses but these are neat.. And your right the RV world could learn a few things from these..
That’s a beautiful rig for sure. Now I’m wondering why I’ve got a brand new 44’ 5th wheel $90k RV and a year old $50k gooseneck 3 horse slant!! Everything looks and sounds quality on that rig and, maybe I’ve led a sheltered life, but I’ve never heard of ’frame flex’ on a horse trailer!! 6k pin weight though … 😳
We've never heard of frame flex or failure on a horse trailer either! That pin weight is something else, but that's what these trucks are designed for!
We aren't full time RVers but we camp a lot. We realized we didn't use the table and bench seats so we took the seat cushions and added them to the bed. It's worked for 3 years but it may be time to get a new mattress. I will look into the Brookly Bedding mattress. My husband will be the final say. Thank you!
We made do in our toyhauler section with a mattress topper on the HappiJac couches for about a year before we upgraded to a real mattress! Our girls were so excited not to have a lumpy bed! The great thing about RV Mattress by Brooklyn Bedding is they have lots of different price points and thickness options so there is sure to be one that will work for anyone! They even have a quiz you can take to find out what mattress will be best for your sleep style! We hope you and your husband find what you need, and if you need any help, please don't hesitate to reach out to us!
Nice trailer What’s the retail on that $210,000? I agree the RV manufacturers could/should put out a better product for what they charge You would need a semi to tow a 5th wheel made like a horse trailer and would cost $350K Standard horse trailer holding tanks are 39 gallon fresh 35 gallon black and gray
We have no idea what it retails for! I bet it isn't cheap though! It begs the question is it better to pay more upfront and have a pleasant traveling experience or is it better to pay less upfront and always be confronted with problems and things breaking while traveling? Looking back, option A sounds much more appealing!
A remodel of the rear with sleeping and a bath and thats a sturdy camper. I used to judge the ride of a truck by getting on the step and rocking the rig, i weighed 250ish, if it moved, it didnt ride good, if it stood there and did nothing but make me look stupid, that truck rides good, volvo was a good one before they were gobbled up by the corporate giants, but i digress.
Ive seen livestock trailers towed by flatbed commercial sized trucks ... extremely heavy duty... ranchers dont mess around... also consider if states require a commercial drivers license ...re length weight regs... humm. ❤
You guys! I am loving these videos from the farm! I spend everyday, all day in an office on a computer and on the phone. This is all so interesting to me. If I was super mechanically inclined, I would totally change careers and do something like this! 😂 Anything out in nature with animals… I’m so there! Keep doing these videos 🙏🏼🙏🏼. They’re great! 😊
We are so glad to hear you like our new videos! I'm with you, Kevin comes home and shows me clips and I think, "Wow your new job is so cool!" When you aren't used to seeing this type of content, it is super interesting to watch! I told him I just want to come shadow him for a few weeks so I can truly get a sense of how his days on the ranch go!
i dunno how much these cost but here in australia a 5th wheel rv can easily be close to 100k AUD. tbh id rather buy one of these and pay the extra to swap out the horse space for extrea living area/toy hauler area and it would prob not cost a huge amount different. dont see too many 5th wheels here, prob cos our outback highways are total crap and it beats most rvs to peices after a few trips. this looks pretty sturdy and id be interested to see how one hold up over here compared to bumper pull caravans and 5th wheelers
It would be interesting to see one of these converted and then put it to the test as an RV. We are with you that these trailers look and feel like they'd hold up so much better than the current RV's on the market.
I have a Shadow 2005 GNLQ 3H with propane generator & 2-40lb tanks. Fully insulated but no slide out. Which is fine. Slides stop working and I don’t have to deal with leaks. Mine is 2 awnings and saddle racks swing out. I could haul golf cart or small car. WERM floor super cushion. Love my storage and amenities. It’s small but it works. My backup RV if my 32’ RV is not working. ❤❤❤ yes they are nice and expensive. But booty scootin with the GN for your bed. But most campgrounds won’t let you in. Love the review. Yes they hold their value. Love mine. Thanks for the review. ❤❤❤
@@PavingNewPaths also some rules are RV no older than 10 years. Yes. It’s sad. But there are plenty of horse campgrounds and private camping that Welcome the money and good company of any RVers.
That thing is sweet. We have a bunch of horse farms by us and I see these types of trailers frequently. I always wondered what those looked like on the inside. That pin weight is crazy. You're probably close to 550/5500 territory when loaded.
I know from the video we made with our RV maxed out we can overload the truck with only 4300Lbs of pin weight! The actual class 4, F450 is rated at 16,500lbs so it could handle it, but to have more room for error the F550 or 5500 class would be the best at 19K GVWR!
@@PavingNewPaths I actually considered ordering a RAM 5500 Limited eventhough it would be complete overkill for my needs. Nothing wrong with dreaming. You have the extra cost for the upfit on the back, but It's shocking how comparably priced they are to a 3500 for so much extra capacity.
The truck is incredible. Why are they not making human trucks as nice? Honestly, wtf! If I had the abilities needed to drive that I'd buy it right now. It's AWESOME! Thanks for showing me how awesome a truck can be.
You have to wonder why RV's aren't as nice as these! It all comes down to greed, we believe! Until we say enough with the cheap builds with overinflated prices, they'll just keep pumping out junk as fast as they can!
There are plenty more farming/ranching videos coming up! We are actually publishing videos on Sunday, Tuesday and Thursday now since Kevin has been busy filming and we need to get caught up closer to real time! So for the time being, you get an extra dose of PNP every week!
Awesome video Kevin, I was hoping you would show off this trailer when you mentioned it a week or so ago. I think the difference here is that the majority of the RV market wants this quality, but when it comes to paying for it they choose the cheaper option. There are other brands of RVs out there that are super high quality where the manufacture stands behind the RV regardless of the issue; but they come with sticker shock.
You're so right! After you experience something so devastating as frame failure, you begin to question saving pennies upfront that end up costing you thousands upon thousands later on! Not to mention the never-ending maintenance and repair costs we've made along the way!
I am in the process of buying a 4023. It has a HUGE garage that can be transformed into living area. Over 9,000 lbs of cargo capacity. Lots of good info on RU-vid. I am keeping mine simplistic with no slides, but you can add 2 (kitchen, bedroom). Very customizable. Built strong and to last.
I have a LVQ horse trailer. They are many steps above what Rv era get. They have to be. But be careful there are rip off brands like Bison. Please do tons of research before investing.
They run circles around anything the RV industry is producing, that is for sure! We are shocked to hear that you think Bison is a rip off brand. We felt the trailer was sturdy, well built and made to last, but then again, we know nothing about horse trailers.
You can buy them without the horse stalls and a rear ramp door for the toys. There are hundreds of them in the desert in California on a weekend hauling toys.
Horse trailers are built so much better than RVs. Lower profile and easier to pull. I don’t understand why they are not more popular. I have seen a few built completely built out as an RV.
I’ve been around these types of trailers. Always top notch and they LAST. I think ATC makes an aluminum travel trailer don’t quote me on it tho. Just think I’ve seen some while on the road (exotic car hauler)
Two axles aren't enough. Dare i say use 4. It's all about weight distribution and 4 axles would have to help and how about airride! Why hasn't any Manufacturer ever offered it???
Funny thing about the RV manufacturers.... Until about 2014-2016 the quality was darn good... The corporate raiders invested and restructured and literally sucked tge quality out of the industry... 1 small company at a time. Results are in... We the Big guy will produce garbage and you the responsible citizen will buy it and like it... Until you don't... The difference in the Livestock living quarter trailers is obvious... Small independent owned quality companies looking for quality customers... and it shows..
We've heard that the RV industry used to produce quality units, just as you described! It's sickening and sad to see what greedy corporations will do to entire industries. And when they're done ruining this industry, they'll step away and go gobble up another industry.
