I think what this really showed is how much time the cooking takes them in most pass it on challenges. Almost everyone had extra time and because of that they were able to focus on the details.
@alticia
@alticia 10 дней назад
it's less that cooking takes most of the time (even if it really does take the most time) and more just the issue with paradox of choice. When you restrict yourself and mostly others to very limited selection of basically whatever, in this case appliances, you focus on the few things you can actually do, which helps tremendously in anything you do, but even more so in something like a cooking challenge, in which people don't know what exactly the person before them was trying to do

Really liked how Baz thought ahead about the drink because of the cold seep - it needed time. Then he really focused in on one thing - finishing it so that the others didn't have to worry about two elements. Mike did the same thing with the Tomatoes. He knew service wouldn't be for at least 30 minutes, so the timing with the tomatoes and salt made sense. Jaime also tried this with the tuna, but when Mike tasted it and didn't taste any acidity I was immediately worried, but it worked out so great work all around

He started out in a good place and instead of adding something ridiculous to the dish that makes live difficult for those who follow like many did before him when that happens, he decided to move everything along and only make reasonable additions to the dish. Everyone was in such positive mood in this one!!! Always love watching this series. Thank you!!!! Potential idea: Not sure if you've done this but should try a "no sense" recipe relay (minimized vision - dark sunglasses, no smell, no taste, no hearing).

Genuinely, this set of dishes looks exactly like what I'd choose out of a restaurant menu, and I 'd be more than happy if it looked as good - and judging by your reactions it tastes even better than it looks. Outstanding work!

Unpopular opinion i know, but I do find Ben a bit pompous at times.

@@Graciesmom-gp5ng In pass it on it often seems like he has an idea in his head that he wants to do regardless of what others have done before him and regardless of how likely anyone is going to guess what he was trying to do. Great for added chaos, but the poor normals seem to struggle often.

So excited that James is back, we've really missed him and his reactions. This was so funny that with James back, they suddenly had a contest with no cooking!

I can’t wait to see all the comments about Barry opening that avocado 🥑

First time he did it, I was like WTF Barry. Then James did it (one of the earlier episodes), and that's the way I'm doing it now. The result is that there's no browning at all (adding oil of course). There's less open surface and stored avocado lasts longer.

That was amazing, well done! You all played to your strengths in this one as well: Barry did his own thing and the rest of the guys cooperated ;)

Let me rephrase that: Everyone stuck to the brief and concept of PIO, while Barry once again violated the rules by doing a "let me cook tea and mix avocado with chocolate. Had he thought at least a bit further than from wall to wallpaper he could at least have prepared something for the others to build on. Maybe something sevice-style or so. But there he is, tooting his own horn and wasting time for 3 minutes...

No idea what you're talking about. Barry didn't cook anything and stayed well within the brief.

AHHHH almost just like old times! You know I started watching Sorted only this year (2024) but after obsessively binging their old stuff, definitely feels like I’ve known them for years 😆 Recipe Relay/Pass it On with Janice, is the most addictive and fun food series I’ve ever watched.

He absolutly has not. He never deserved it, in the first place. Anyway, this is PASS IT ON. Not "do a dessert in ten minutes". So (as so often) he breaks the rules of the format.

I honestly feel like jamie owned this one. it was started off with a drink and a dessert, but jamie quickly thought of a way to go with an absolutely stunning main course. I miss when they tell each other at the end what they did in their 10 minutes though. that's always my favorite :)
