Neat system. I like the one stick method since it also serves as my platform and I'm not crazy about being supported by one leg in a stirrup while repositioning the tether. Easy to slip out in that position. But to each his own. If I used this, I would climb with a linemans belt.
Thanks for making this video. This was how i thought i woukd use it if i ordered one. I believe tethers are safer so it nice to see it all work together. Like one sticking but i think better. Do you ever use the sturrups as your platform to hunt from?
If you’re hanging from a tether and climbing with steps you’re essentially just one-sticking with steps. To me that defeats the purpose and the benefits of your sladder climbing system. Climbing this way looked very cumbersome, louder (pine tree didn’t help any) and slower. This was a good video but I think it does your climbing system a disservice. I think having more videos of climbing the sladder the way it was intended and maybe even a video showing how to go around limbs would be significantly more beneficial to your brand. Good luck!
See I think it was a good video because some of us don't believe in relying on linesman belts. This could convert one stickers to his system or for those of us that prefer a tether. But thats just me. I agree a video going around limbs would be cool as well
gcr0003, just showing another option as to how it can be used. I actually took video this weekend of climbing a Maple tree with branches and a lean, going back and forth from linemen's belt to tether as I navigate through the limbs. Will post it soon.
If your preferred method of climbing is one sticking because you attach to the tree via the tether, wouldn't you rather have a lighter, much more compact and easier method than the one stick? You can drop a one stick, but your foot is always in the Sladder and it is always attached to the tree, so no risk of dropping it.
I ordered my sladder, received it yesterday and used it today. Up the tree less than 5 minutes, didn't break a sweat, I also didn't have any time to practice with the system. I've just been watching the sladder instructional videos from Vinnie and mimicked/ followed his tips. It's a 10/10 system for me. Less than 2 lbs. No clanking sticks. No side shifts to get on the platform. I've used climbers, sticks, 2 tether, you name it. My over all goal was not to be sweating by the time I'm at hunting height, and drop weight from my pack because I hunt where It's a hike. Through cricks and high elevations. American made, very well thought out design. I'd buy another if I needed 2
