The key is going to be to make sure you don’t skip any part of this since it will all lead to a combined best result when you do.

This means, we have to start with fixing your posture. That’s right. Posture can be one of the main contributors to a saggy chest. The problem is actually two-fold. First, just slumping your shoulders forward will instantly give your chest the appearance of being a lot smaller and saggier than it actually is. This often comes from having a tight pec minor and weakened upper back muscles. Do the pec minor stretch shown and foam roll your upper back to get more thoracic extension while not forgetting to work on your weak muscles with the corrective exercises shown.
Next, we have to talk about nutrition. Far too often, the chest looks much worse than it should because of the amount of body fat that you’re carrying. You can do a simple test to determine how much of your problem is coming from having too much fat versus simply having underdeveloped chest muscles. Look in the mirror and see if you can see your upper two abs. If you are unable to do so then you are likely to have at least 15 percent body fat and this is going to be a problem since men often times will accumulate a good portion of fat on their lower chests when their overall levels get too high.
The simplest way to fix this problem is to start eating better. The key is consistency however and randomly approaching your nutrition plan is going to leave you frustrated over the long term. Instead, try adopting the plate division method I show you in this video. It makes eating any meal a lot easier when you can just visualize the plate in this way and partition the macronutrients of proteins, fibrous carbs, starchy carbs and healthy fats accordingly. You will likely find this much less frustrating and easy to stick to long term.

Last but not least we have to address the training side of the equation. There are actually chest exercises that do a better job than others at hitting the lower chest and helping to get rid of that saggy or flabby appearance. These are all going to have in common the direction of movement of the upper arms. In general, to hit the lower chest fibers in the abdominal head of the pecs the best you need to take your arm from a high and away position to a low and in position. You’ll see that all of the ones shown here do just that.
Additionally, applying tension and pausing in the stretch position on every one of the reps you do in any of these exercises will help the chest muscle to undergo a more effective stimulus for change. Don’t skip this part or rush through it if you want to see the best results for your saggy lower chest.
To put it all together, I would recommend the following:
Perform the foam rolling for the thoracic spine and the pec minor stretch each time you do your chest fixing routine.
Choose one of the three exercises (face pulls, band pull aparts, tubing external rotation) and perform 3 sets of 12 high quality reps as a neuroactivator of the pecs prior to your training.
Choose 4-5 chest exercises shown and perform 3 sets of each if you are going to perform this as a dedicated chest only workout worked into your current training schedule. If doing this as accessory work to your current total body training split, I would recommend dropping this to just 2-3 exercises for 3 sets each since this will be done a second time during the week in this instance.

ALWAYS helpful. I used this for myself after I had to undergo chemo/radiation and multiple surgeries for cancer treatment and such. I gained a ton of fat. Lost a lot of muscle and lost a lot of weight. Sounds weird but it’s what happened. I used to be a power lifter and lost my mass and size but gained fat instead. Developed man-boobs for lack of a better term. Jeff’s various videos helped me so damn much. I’m still battling it now but I’m doing much better now. Thank you, Jeff. Couldn’t have done it without your help!!!!

When I first started the gym I hired a trainer for several sessions. I recommend this if you can afford it. I've been trying to practice good posture in the gym, and I've added muscle. It appears to me that these two components together have helped with my posture outside of the gym. I've found that as I've built muscle, that I can actually feel how to use and hold my body properly. It becomes more apparent the stronger I get.

Thank you. Really. I'm a writer and I spend a lot of time sitting, slouching, just being inactive. As you can imagine, I don't have the body I want. However, watching your videos really motivates me to not only hit the gym more, but to do the exercises properly and not half-ass it. @@-yourandyoureare2different612 Yes, I know he already has a lot of bodyweight only videos and I've been following them but they're all Equipment free workouts. We need a calisthenics workout that we can do at the gym maybe, if that's what is available for us, atleast that's my case. I don't have access to any gymnasiums or bars in the street so all I can do is workout at the gym. What I ask for is a Push Pull Legs split I.e. Push(Chest/shoulders/Triceps) Pull(Back/biceps) and Legs, each workout for a separate day that includes exercises that can be done with Equipments like bars etc. added the major weightlifting exercises such as deadlifts or bench presses to increase the overall strength aspect at every level. It would be great if we get this kind of workout.

Hey bros, could any of you give me some advice for my training? Im 30 y/o and weight around 70 kg, i have recently started training again to build muscle. I divide my workouts based on muscle groups: Mondays/Thursdays - Chest/Shoulders, Tuesday/Friday - Back/Bicep/Tricep and Wednesday/Saturday - Legs-Abs. Chest Training: 4 sets of 20 pushups 5 sets of 20 Bench Press with 22 kg 4 sets of 15 Dumbbell Chest Flyes (Dumbbell of 4 kg each) Shoulder Training: 3 sets of 15 pike pushups 4 sets of 10 dumbbell lateral raises 4 sets of 10 dumbbell frontal raises 4 sets of 10 dumbbell shoulder press Back Training: 4 sets of 15 One-Arm Dumbbell Raise (each Arm) 3 sets of 15 bent over dumbbell lateral raise 4 sets of 20 dumbbell shoulder shrugs 4 sets of 15 dumbbell pull-overs 4 sets of 10 dumbbell W Raises Bicep Training: 5 sets of 10 Dumbbell Concentration Curls 3 sets of 10 Dumbbell Hammer Curls Tricep Training: 4 sets of 10 Dumbbell One-Arm Overhead Extension 4 sets of 15 Dips Leg Training: 4 sets of 20 squats 4 sets of 10 lunges each leg 3 sets of 1 minute horse stance 2 sets of 30 seconds low horse stance with back pushing to the wall Abs Training 2 sets of 50 sit-ups 3 sets of 20 sitting twists 3 sets of 20 knee-to-elbow crunches 3 sets of 20 second elbow planks I have been drinking a protein milkshake after each workout but recently i stopped feeling the muscle soreness, i still end up exhausted each day but i dont get the soreness anymore. Hey guys I have a big problem, I’ve recently returned to heavy training after some time off, only 2 years ago I was playing d2 football, my bench was very respectable 385 max, 225 for 19 reps, keep in mind I’m only a 6”1 215 pound safety, but anyway I’ve been demoralized by my chest strength, I’ve had great progress very fast gains on every other core compound movement, I’m on an extremely protein heavy diet, getting proper macro, pre and post meals, doing everything right however my chest remains embarrassingly weak and I mean bad bad, at 215 body weight I started off fresh in at 175 for reps and a set of 10 feeling difficult, however after 5 weeks of only one very intense heavy chest day a week with tons of recovery and proper nutrition, stretching, everything, and somehow my strength has decreased, now a set of 8 sometimes even 5 is feeling taxing, and if I add even 10 pounds which should be appropriate gains in week or two, I can barely do 3-4 reps, and my 1 rep max is barely 200, now I know I could be weaker, but the stall and lack of progress is causing me legitimate depression as I’m training or the cfl scouting combines this summer, and I know I can’t even bother showing my face if I can’t do 225 for atleast 10-20 reps, keep in mind all my other gains have been amazing and very encouraging, just my pathetic measly joke of a chest, could this be a pain free injury?? Shoulder issues, back issues??? I just have no answers, I have no noticeable pain, no injuries, I do advanced mobility and stretching work, I just can’t figure this out

i love your approach to teaching the workouts, the mental attitude, techniques, etc. i’ve been lifting for four years and tried many ebooks, coaches, etc. you are a leader in the fiead. in nutrition for weight lifters i urge you to check out the latest science on protein from Gabrielke Lyon, MD; Jose Antonio, PhD; Paul Mason, MD; Paul Saladino, MD; and Shawn Baker, MD. Protein must LEAD all macros. Carbs are minor if any for best results, as shown by randomized, clinical trials.

This is good advice for many people but it's certainly not a guaranteed solution. I've always just had soft and somewhat saggy skin even tho i've never been fat and there's no non-surgical permanent solution to that. When i'm feeling a bit cold or just manually tweak my nipples i think i look pretty good but as soon as the skin relaxes or i get too warm then the nipples and chest area just sags and i look terrible i think. In my early 20s, when i knew nothing, i stopped eating for a full month because i was so pissed off at those lingering bits of fat and i got down to maybe 5% fat i think and the issue was still there unless the skin was tweaked! It's just the way some of us are built. Some say that getting your nipples pierced can make the nipples permanently erect. If you razer shave over the nipples too hard and hurt them a bit that will make them stay erect for a day or 2 until they heal. Also happens if you get sunburn in that area. I find it very uncomfortable knowing that i'm quite strong and look decent under good conditions but as soon as things get warm and saggy that it all just goes to shit.

I'm 52 and stopped trying to be a super hero in the gym. No more bench pressing. I'm doing this stuff here and finally, FINALLY, my chest is expanding wider out to the shoulders and more definition under meeting the armpits. Thanks to this overly talky dude here ;)

I followed one of Jeff's chest cable workouts and incorporated a 90 to 110lb single dumbbell, 2-handed goblet bench press and my chest got friggin' jacked with size and very noticeable muscle striation. I could put my index finger across the center of my pecs and fit my other finger underneath the space no problem. You have to be careful though because the workout REALLY targets individual muscle fibers and you can easily pull shit if you're pushing too much weight at first. I could push more weight in the cable cage using proper form then a friend who could bench 275. Great workout and it works.

I'm not a cable fan, so the BIGGEST help for me (beyond trimming down): adding INCLINE bench and INCLINE flyes, after my 3 flat bench press sets. Also, adding protein shakes has hugely helped ALL my muscle progress. A must !

Sir I am a follower and a huge fan, I just want to say that many of us only have dumbbell and no pull up bar but none of your program offers that choice then having a dumbbell goes to waste if I choose the program that has only body weight, if there were a program with body weight and dumbbells included that would be great

holy shit that shredding program is very tempting as i have 40% body fat and looking to get lean, but i don't have 97$ dude xd, i guess i'll do it my way cuz i have been losing weight and still am to this point, i have lost 21 kg so far and still counting since i've reached 125 kg last year and now i am at 105 kg, hoping to get to a 2 digit weight number as of next month, wish me luck guys!!!

Jeff, Big fan. Been using Athlean-X workouts since 2016. My question, I have bi-lateral knee arthritis and it takes me about half through a workout to get my knees warm and loose. Are there any tips that you can give me that Williams help me warm and loosen them up a lot faster?
