Only somone with no understand8ng of wconomics would make such a stupid claim Piracy is a symptom of entittlment and it qill allways exist same way black markets will allways exist
@@demonic_myst4503piracy is much less about entitlement and more about a disagreement between the retailer and the target audience about the retail price of the transaction for a copy of data. Steam reduced piracy overall by reducing that price. The a la carte payments in DND beyond had also worked like that. It is WoTC which is demonstrating a lack of understanding of the market around DnD
I have not seen microtransactions with any of the third-party content. I was interested in buying subclasses, magic items, and spells from different third-party books and couldn't. Those microtransactions were one of the few things going for WotC books. I wasn't going to buy Spelljammer or Strixhaven, but Plasmoids and Silvery Barbs were purchases I was happy to make. Now, WotC just lost money they might have had from me.
there's websites that gives you free stuff so idrc what wotc is doing to further distance itself from it's audience it's just kinda sad to see a company I looked up to fall to greed good video btw
I went to buy a subclass and noticed this. Also the pages kept refreshing on their own, so it was pretty broken. I don't know if that's still the case, I checked a few nights ago.
Yeah, this one really p***ed me off. I'm really the only one that uses DnD beyond in my group. I would buy subclasses or spells all the time, but I really don't want full books. All of our stuff is homebrew so we really only pick stuff that fits into that.
DnD Beyond was what got me into d&d and I was upset when I saw the changes as I am still in Highschool and buying things one by one was the best thing for me with only getting $50 a month from my mom.
i noticed this when i went to look at the races i bought from mordinkanin multiverse of monsters for some reason it didn't want me looking at them without buy the book even though i already had the races. turns out i had to game rules and click on races insead of the source to get view my races
i love 5e but this is y i sail the seas cause its a better expeirence then they offer i mean not only is ale cart gone but the discount you would get doesnt apply automatically now you have to call customer support they are banking on you not calling and just biting the bullet and paying full price its a scum move
If you see yourself as a paladin you should also know the nuance about being lawful good without supporting tyrants 😉 a well functining society requires enough mutual goodwill and Wizards of the coast just went a huge step towards demolishing the remaining goodwill
Holy shit I made the same promise to myself about supporting artists for games, movies, etc when I was younger because I was too poor so I had to pirate lol
