ive tried guitar, piano, flute, recorder, saxophone and none of them has been as fun as drums about to do my grade 5 now! this song is the most awesome thing ive played on drums yet just so fun.
Hi Mike, I’m still learning grade 4 so it’ll be a few months before I’m learning this. Looks pretty tricky for grade 5 lol. But I was just wondering, does using only one crash make the solo any more difficult? Thanks Also PS: This song and silent alarm were what made me want to become a drummer.
Thanks Josh - For most of these quick demos of grade pieces (such as this) I use my iPhone 6S. For others I use a Zoom Q2n, and others still I use audio recorded through a complete set of drum kit mics into Logic. Cheers!
TYT TRICKSPLIT There’s no official requirement to teach, but if teaching the Grades I personally think it seems reasonable that you would have completed all the Grade syllabus with good scores. Cheers man :)
I'm stuck on the second page at the top because I don't know what hands to use for each note. I'll keep practising though and slow it down hopefully get it soon.
Hi Matthew, thanks for watching. Yes agreed that bit definitely takes the most thinking about, and absolutely the answer is working out which hand is going to play what! I'll do a little breakdown video for this song soon. Cheers!
i play the drums but only on a lower grade and my dad is a drum teacher but i just can't seem to get my drum rolls to be smooth. it seems like my left hand lags a lot which i can't seem to correct.
Thanks for watching - It’s practice man! Lots of rudiment practice on the pad, go slow and even and build your speed bit by bit. Drum rudiment playlist: ru-vid.com/group/PLcfoni8UPb9o-q9_IfC2z6f47sZcDQ2Tn
Hey Mike!! I have noticed there is some difference between this version compared to the original in terms of fills, is there a huge difference or does it not matter that much?
This is the version from the Trinity Rock and Pop Grade course - it's a different arrangement from the original. The most significant thing it's missing is the big "herta" fills - video about that here: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-IBc8ugtOwCY.html
Hi Evie, don’t know at the moment, I’m literally playing a gig as we speak! Ha ha, but I’ll check and report back. Also it’s written in the book at the top of the chart!
