@@n0k0m3 that's also the reason why he has so many saves as well. He spent most of his career played for middling clubs so he faced many shots ( saved plenty, also conceded plenty). I'm not saying he's bad or anything, but you have to take the good with the bad as well
He is criminally underrated..... Man,He had some crazy records even DDG,Big Pete,Barthez,Reina,Thibo,Cech and many Great don't have close number as him. Mad Respect ❤.
Foster is possibly the best goal keeper in British history and so under valued but definitely at home in Wrexham. I’m sure Ryan is going to take good care of him.
@@therentboys7787tbf he has got a lot better this past 2 years He saved Nobel Sarr (twice) Pens and with regards to the semi final, all the pens from Brighton were very good and the one that was skied he prob would have got, he went the right way with a lot of them but they were placed way too well.
@@utdspiritf1virk758 He doesn't commit to a side though, he just lazily goes to ground and doesn't actually dive. Going the right way doesn't mean he's gotten better at them.
I think to make penalties less of a guarantee, the defending team should be allowed a player placed in a position near the goal to help clear the ball. It feels like such a waste that some of these amazing stops still count for basically nothing. Maybe a rule that the penalty taker can’t have the next touch? If it deflects off the keeper, it should be a genuine foot race from all the other players to scramble to either clear or tap it in, depending on what team they’re on obviously
I'm guessing he faced more than 2 penalties then? Because that stat gets both more and less impressive the higher and lower the number of penalties he faced is.
@@mastertrams "Cooper returned for the final and kept a clean sheet as Ipswich won 1-0, the club's first major honour since winning the First Division in 1961-62. At the time Cooper was developing a reputation for saving penalties; the following season he played in all but one of Ipswich's league games,[19] saving five of the seven penalties he faced.[18] He made 40 league appearances in 1979-80 (with Sivell playing in the other two games),[20] saving eight of out of ten penalties, the most ever saved by a goalkeeper in a season." en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Paul_Cooper_(footballer,_born_1953)
@@mastertrams bless the person who record Cooper's achievement in Wikipedia. 80% save rate and not even an England cap. By golly, by the time he played for Leicester, he saved 59 penalties. It shows how great English goalkeepers were then. He had Shilton, Clemence, Corrigan, Parkes, Rimmer ahead of him...maybe his lack of height counted against him.
Of course it does. He saved the penalty, he did his job. If the attacker gets there first then that is the fault of the defence and not the goalkeeper.
Kinda bullshit you get the chance for a rebound aswell with a penalty. The odds of a penalty going in are already at 8 out of 10 or something like that. Should be one kick. If the keeper saves it, too bad.
It's great that he's had a good career ..... But how can he be underrated? He has played in front of the world stage......... His career is what it is........ Better than most. But seems like a top bloke
And so what, you play to how the rules of the game are enforced. Ben Foster with VAR will play differently to Ben Foster without VAR. Every keeper tries to leave their line early without VAR. Its like saying David Beckham wasn't a good free kicker because he would always roll the ball forward before taking it, which cannot be done today due to the markings refs put around the ball.
So he signed him for 1M in the 2000. United struggled to replace Smicheals. He got injured and was loaned out to Watford 2 seasons. Van de sar comes in (his prime). His under 23 this point. Gk peak later generally. He got 2 more injuries and when edwin was out then he got his chance. Fergie said and i quote "we genuinely see him as a successor for edwin". After getting game cos edwin was injured he made a mistake but was revealed he had bruised ribs so england chose Rob green. Thats when he put in a transfer request to play for an exiting Birmingham ham (like a Brighton or Brentford of today). He replaced a guy known as Joe hart who went back to be city number 1. Then he went to Westbrom and then Watford who finished mid table or just above top 10. His not shit just loves the game and wants to play
the answer is yes and no.. despite miniminter hv amazing skill prob equal as most premier league players the time he shoot the penalty there is no pressure coming from enemy team nor supporter. different with the real pen taker that play on real games bcz the pressure there is real,
Anyone on their day can score an amazing penalty, but Miniminter gets multiple attempts and doesn't have the pressure and weight of the game on his shoulders.
Um pretty sure David James holds the record for most penalties saved with 13. Thomas Sorensen a close second with 12. Do your damn research before spreading misinformation. Literally a Google search in seconds for confirmation.
