Used cars are more costlier now than new car. 10 years old cars are selling at 50-60% of current new car price. It's far better to buy new car than used cars at current prices. Startups like spinny, cars24 etc spoiled used car market. Used car market is good for sellers rather than buyer as of now.

Worst time to buy used car.... Because of govt norms , price increase car have became appreciating assets( specially maruti cars and hundai creta)... Asking 8-9 lakhs for 3-4yr old brezza and 11-12 lakhs for 4-5 yrs creta...whereas they were at same ex showroom price in those yrs 😰
Barring the cheats of reversed odometer and increased cost of ownership on maintenance, let's compare the prices. I can get a mildly used ignis at 4-5 lakhs. And a new sigma costs just a lakh more at 6-6.2L. I can buy the new one at 8-9% interest with a down payment of 1 lakh. Whereas the down payment and interest rates (13-14%) are higher if refinanced. I find it hard to be convinced about buying a 2nd hand car. Even a properly used 5-7 year old alto K10 is 2.5-3L. Used cars got way too inflated post corona. Let the market correct itself in a year or so; or just buy a new car. 2nd hand will only make sense if your buying it from someone well known.
absolutely right...I test drove an alteoz diesel xz 2021 model 40000 kms driven from cars24 for which they are demanding 8.85 lakh. the funny part is new xz diesel costs 10.7 lakh and company may also offer some discount. just 1.5 lakh less for a 40000 km driven car... is absolute stupid
Absolutely right, Pre owned car prices are through the roof. 30-40k driven cars are on sale for 7-9 lacs whereas there new version is 1.5-2.5 lac more.. so why go for old ones
Buy used car: Only if you were buying directly from the owner after thorough examination by an experienced mechanic trusted by you. Otherwise, go for a lower model of any new car that suits your budget.
I bought a used car from spinny and drive it to around 12000 kms. Not even a single penny I had to spend on any problems/issues. I got the car in extremely good condition.
There is difference between good running and genuine price. All online portals keep minimum 50000 to 1 lakh gap betn buy n sell. Try to buy direct from customer.

Dealers and investors have just made the market worse by hiding car history by doing car makeovers and tampering with a car odometer is very commonly found. 3. It's almost impossible to find a genuine car seller on platforms like olx or similar 4. Spinny, true value have very less options to offer with very high prices To sum up this is the real condition out there

I requested a test drive for a used car and for the car inspection, I took it to the nearest service center and I found out the hidden defects which it has from car service history. Then, the service center manager showed me a car that had come for exchange and they quoted me a lesser price than the famous online websites. Whatever you do never purchase a Ford or chevrolet brand car no matter how mouth-watering the price is. The reason - my uncle owns a chevrolet beat(2012) and my friend owns a Ford ecosport(2016) now after these 2 companies left the indian market the spare parts for servicing is very hard to find and basically no workshop wants to take in these cars for servicing Fyi - even by using the "go mechanic" app was not helpful.
Tirupati sir do you still think so is there any improvement in Ford service ? Even I was getting a good price for freestyle petrol 2018 but I am hesitant to for it only because of the Ford service seems to be dicey.
I also buy a new ignis sigma @5.60 L ... tension free vehicle for 15 yrs .. with high ground clearance 180mm .. 20+ avg.. 4 cylinder refine engine.. and car quality also decent as compare to other maruti products..
Sir i am regularly following you since very long and a big fan of your genuine guidance. I bought Used Ecosport 2 years ago from dealer and luckily i got a good car. But sir, now a days in Mumbai, used car dealers are selling cars considering new cars current price, not the price of car which is depreciated as per the invoice value. I have seen some maruti , Hyundai cars which are almost on equal prices , which were at the time the respective car was bought. For EX Here all ertiga cars are listed on a price similar to invoice price at that particular time. Now, what to do in such situations, and its a story with every used car dealer. Actually buying a used car itself has become a tough task now a days. Plus back of the mind it will always be a feeling of risk for used car. Please provide a best possible solution for this sir.
Yes .. compare yo other state or city in Mumbai buying a used car is not worth.. they are selling swift near to bying price in 2016-17 now in 2022.. better go for new car and have peace of mind
Go for new car if you are in Mumbai.. Dealers will hardly give you less value and not sure how genuine the car will be.. Why to take tension and even pay same price the car was 4 to 5 yrs back.. Go for new if you are staying in Mumbai or thane city... No doubt in that.. 😉
If you don't know about the car then go directly to Maruti True Value and buy the car. But note that only take that car for which Maruti True Value offers at least 6 months warranty.
Nice advice ,i purchased a 2 year old Honda amaze from spinny in the price of wagon R, it's Been a year ,car is fine, not tempered,with service history . Instead of taking a used car loan ,better to take other loan like gold loan or personal loan

I bought 2nd hand swift zxi.. But after that all new tyre, headlight, all new suspension almost nearly one lakh expenses kr diya.. Isliye bhale car nayi lelo... Service history nahi hone k baad b uski service ab aayi hoti he.. Only good thing is it has perfect interior... No problem at all there. So now i have decided to buy new car only.

last year i bought honda city cvt top model petrol for 6.5 lakhs nov 2015 model. its been more than 1 year now i am completely satisfied and drove almost 10K kms including hilly drives from delhi. I dont have any car loan and own a car almost like new in 2023. I did PDI from Honda service centre then took the delivery.
I sold my ford figo while buying a ciaz. The figo was taken as exchange by maruti dealer. While visiting rto for signing the transfer paper, found odometer tampered. So buyer be aware.
Sir, generally, the Indian mindset is that we leave a thing only when we are done with it. So, buying anything that is used is a big risk here. I myself have to return 7 used cars to Spinny because of the quality issue in each one of them. Worst experience but they market the things as if they are better than even the best…!

The used cars market is over valued. If you have to buy via loans then it's better to buy new cars. Have been checking many sites but the price variations between new and old cars are not that value for money, considering no guarantee on used cars vehicles.

I had been victim of second hand scam when a santro 2009 model i purchased was sold with 130000 km odo instead of 85000 mentioned and after that it was smoking white fumes and abnormal clutch sound while revving had to sell it in 3 months for loss of 40000
Bhai ,90% of the second car is refurbished & meter is tampered ,common sense hai , one No. se to na hi koi grahak car kharidega or na hi dealer bech payega ,saath me dealer ko mota commision v chahiye.
All these online platform selling cars at premium of 1 to 2 lakh rupees, they are charging their commission, whichever cost showing online just minus approx 1.5 lakh that was original price you can tentatively consider and keep in mind while buying.

Simple logic, Car X has price of 10 lakh in 2017 without discount with discount 9.5 around, In 2023 its price rises to 13 to 14 lakh, Dealer considering value of 14 lakh n tries to sell you in 8 lakhs by meter reversing n painting n denting. If u buy customer become fool. If cant afford avoid cars but 5 years ke bad koi bhi car puchase price se 50% rate pe hi right hai.
Used car mein log kainchi bahut marte hain, unn se dur rhna hi better hai. Chhoti used car pe bhi Max dealers minimum 50,000 Rs ka tanka jarur marte hain. Better hai ki entry segment cars like - Ignis Sigma , Wagon R Vxi , Spresso/Alto 800/Alto K10 , 7 year finance pe le le Banda , Jo Banda used car lega , jitni new car pe emi dega , usse jyada paisa used car kha jati hai.

There is car service records available...just don't buy a car older than 3 years as during this period most of the cars are in warranty period and owner mostly service it in authorised service centres so you can easily calculate the kms it driven..😊😊😊😊 slight 2000-3000 km difference does not bother 😊😊😊

Showroom people are too charging handling charges, this n that. How to know what we are getting in ex-showroom price? Wipers / floor mat / mud flaps / Horn / Number plate ?
