Been racking my brains over what's gone wrong with my 2013 YBR and this video has given me that motivation to go back out and try to work it out again. Though I think the best cure for my bike was to not buy it off Facebook!!
Pretty good practise there Simon. I would put a TDC mark onto the flywheel and a register for it also on the engine case. With a strobe light, off the battery and ignition lead, you can then absolutely ensure that your ignition timing is bang on into the future too, should you need to remove the flywheel again. Good stuff. !
I'm still panicking though. I crazily replaced everything power related - brand new: spark plug, CDI, ignition coil, kill switch and magneto rotor. Still no spark at all! The motor actually runs perfectly, but no start without power. Do you have any idea why this could be? And if you know, how do I go about it?
@SongsFromTheSaddle hi there I have ktm450sxf was good runner left for over a year and don't start no spark to it change battery spark plug and coil the fuses and still no spark do u recon it could be the stator plate ?
Not really. There are two phases - problem finding and problem solving. Sometimes you can find the problem but not solve it. Recent example - stuck at the side of the road with a dead bike - diagnose blocked fuel injector. Problem found. But how to fix it at the side of the road in the rain? Problem solving is a different matter.
