Now we need a perfectly straight 10% track DOWN the switchback hill so that you switchback up, and then just sorta send it at HSR speeds down the hill. For speed reasons.

A tale as old as time, Night shift braves a thunderstorm in the pitch black to set a new record for delivery and Day shift is just tossing cars into the dirt. Also, I love your POV of the coal cars going over the edge, I can hear the Derail Valley *DINK* as the cars fly off.

As soon as you mentioned that INtrusive was an interesting word conceptually (so it gets picked much less frequently), my brain immediately wondered why isn't EXtrusive an actual word? As in, the absolute opposite of intrusive should logically be extrusive. Meanwhile, my phone is having a seizure trying to autocorrct "extrusive" every time I type it😂

What if (this is a stretch) if you do train jousting where you put two tracks very close to each other and have two locos facing opposite directions, each pushing 1 wagon (try to find one that overhangs so far that they would bump into the wagon on the other track) then go full steam at each other and see who stays on the tracks

Yh that glitch is the equivalent of buying in game currency to get stuff it ruins the fun of running trains but if you really want something you could I'd say they keep a separate file with like all their carts filled up so when they want to do a different episode they can just use that money

I doubt it is a glitch, rather it is the BETA branch, so probably debug commands and such are kept enabled, on purpose

it also seems like the update to Unreal 5 improved the physics of the game. (or could be the sample size of 1) like at 19:50 the cars seem to actually just tip over the edge of the rail once they derailed and not just bounce off the rail.

31:55 It is possible to make a 1% grade from the coal mine. It does require one slight stacking of splines thou. It's also a mountain hugger line and it's end point unless you do some crazy snake tracks is the smelter/sawmill cut.

At night when loading the fire, try closing one eye, then swap eyes when grab a scoop of coal, when go to see the firebox swap eye back. It might help if changing in short section

Did a little beta testing with the turn tables and it seems if you're alone, you can't use them because the train doesn't pivot with the table unless someone is in the locomotive. 15:22

Don't know if you're aware but you can unload carts into each other meaning that if you had 2 tracks next to a loading station you can use a small train to fill up or make a bigger train easier without as much shunting

Know what would be cool, and someone should suggest as it would be easy to implement? Customizable day night cycles, so you could have day, sunset, sunrise, repeat, and just skip the night. Gives the cool feeling of shifting time, without the issue of actual pitch blackness.

Someone should contact the devs (I would but don’t know where to do so) and ask them to add where the whole of cars, not just the bottoms, interacts with the ground. You could even leave it so that the player doesn’t change where it collides just simply by adding a tag to the bigger collision box that only interacts with non-player objects.

as a glassblower I can confirm light differentials suck, I had tons of halogen lights focused on my work area so shade 3 glasses were like nothing, and I could see the glass also working with a torch and boro is bright

When doing night stuff uploading a 1440p even if the actual res is 1080p is useful because 1440p has a higher bitrate and so will look better even at 1080p.

Coal may have a high temp to light up but coal dust does not. Many instances of coal fires in ships during landing, I'm sure it happened in trains too

IDEA: I think that you guys, if and once you make your server larger and more populated, that you could host a very long challenge for each player to make it to a certain amount of money. Each player would have their own company and they could have like 2 people per team if they wanted to. It would create a need for different company owned cars each with different colors and you could have people operating the yard and and it could be a competitive yet obligatory friendly Competition while running the railway immersivley to not run out of things to do for player in the game.
