I agree with you that this is not at all essential for rag rugs. But it's nice to have different options so thank you for the clear helpful instructions. You are a great teacher and I'm learning a lot. I just finished a rectangular rug with an accent color (dark gray) for the last two rows using the method you gave. It gave a nice framed look to a rug made with many different colors and patterns of short leftover fabric yarn. Sort of like art for the floor🙂 Personally, I believe a lot of stress and resulting unhappiness comes from trying to be perfect and create perfectly perfect things. That's just not the way life works. Everyone needs to give themselves permission to ignore those who feel compelled to point out that you are aren't doing it their preferred way (as if theirs was the only "right" way.)
Well. You are speaking my language. I agree. Less judging more excepting and don't make things bigger than they need to be. You only live once. Relax and live each moment in the present. Imperfections (if that is what people want to call it) is natural and helps make us be uniquely perfect. 🙋🌞🧡
IDK, Erin that I will try this. I think it will only cause me more anxiety over whether it worked correctly or not! I am learning this craft for relaxation and to recycle in a meaningful way all the old sheets and pillowcases and tee shirts I have accumulated. I like the folksy-ness of it all. Hello Erin, Happy Mother's 😁 thank you for this great tip 😋 My Son has been in Florida this past week 😁 he went to Universal Studios to Harry Potter World 😋 ( at this moment in time he's on the plane back to the UK 😋) So I was so excited he was going to America, I thought yippee Yarn 😁 no there was no Michael's, Joanne's, Hobby Lobby or Walmart s close by 😋 so no Yarn for me 😦 Erica x

Thank you! Yes, I can see better what's happening in this/your video. A question - Do you generally work at a table to crochet the rugs? Or is the table for filming? Do you sit in a chair (living room) with the rug in your lap?
The table is for filming. I sit with the rug on my lap however as it is get bigger I lay it out every go around to make sure everything is looking good.
