One thing that made me sad in the Yinu fight was when she cried "I HATE YOU ALL! AAAAAAAAAAAAA!" and then just went crazy on the piano, probably like in tears because everyone who played this game knows she's in a lot of pressure.
The way the notes fell down also indicate to her crying. I mean, opposed to the starting hallway run, it's far more disorderly and frequent, like someone crying while having a full-on breakdown.
Here's something I've noticed During Yinu's boss fight, the music gradually not only gets more intense but also looses the orchestration it originally had in favor of EDM, signifying how it slowly changes from Yinu's boss fight, to her mother's boss fight. All Yinu wanted was to be able to play her piano for other people, yet it was taken from her by not only BBJ but her Mom as well. Mayday may have been the one who smashed her piano, but her Mom stole the show, literally.
The saddest part? I don't even think Yinu's mom intended to do it. She became so intent on Yinu's career she forgot about *Yinu.* I also think that this point is where BBJ started to question their 'war' on NSR.
Lets not forget how mad Yinu got at the end, throwing out triplets, as zuke stated, where it showed that she was gradually losing her cool and wound up hating everything. Even the one thing she enjoyed to do. Yinu is just a child, lets not forget that fact. all this pressure on her wound up pushing her to the breaking point and made her despise her mother for pushing her to be great, and BBJ for going against her dreams.
The whole message of the game revolves around the question “why do people make music?” Yinu wanted to share something she learned from her father, Neon J wanted to make children happy, DJ Subatomic Supernova makes music because it makes him feel important, SAYU is because it’s a passion project between friends, Tatiana makes EDM to distance herself from her past. Their is no one reason and sometimes it gets corrupted or hijacked by others who don’t care about your passion but it should never be allowed to erase that fire.
She was just trying to play a song dedicated to her dad and we fucking interrupted her and ruined everything god GOD THIS BOSS ALWAYS GETS TO ME, even when angrily trying to S rank the hard mode
I didn’t even know Phase 4 had a partial rock. So much was was going on in the fight I thought it just went to the rock version. Still awesome how this came out
@@william95121 So I can confirm now, it actually is in the game. It just seems like its really easy to finish phase 4 before it'll start playing the partial rock part and just skip over to the full rock part. I started a new playthrough on the switch version and it was taking way longer to finish phase 4 than it usually does for me that it eventually went into the partial rock bit of the theme.
As a pianist myself (been playing for 7-8 years) i can really appreciate how hard it must be to play this. I won't lie, props to the person and in the entire game, this is my favorite track. Just love how it sounds.
In the base its really not but since here they mixed it all up depends on the players performance so if the rock wins it will play at rock so they really have to mixed it up or to switched it back and form
Yinu’s story “stole the show” for me! I feel for her and her mother with her dad’s death clearly impacting them both. Playing piano being the bridge memory they share about them all together. Also her rose pedal hair design ties in with her moms hair being a tree, as well as the roots covering the entire theater. This game takes its story themes and entwined them with the visuals perfectly!
You know, listening to the song outside of the game, for my first time, i wondered why i didn’t hear some final note being hit at the end, then i remembered, “oh yeah, the only thing being hit at the end was that piano.”
This medley is one of THE best ones i've heard in a while, the sheer intensity of the tune, the fight for dominance between 3 different styles of music, the heart and soul put by Yinu to her motiff it's just inspiring and the message behind this medley of being who you are without the strings of what works and just listening to your own talent and passion is perfect
This ends the painful journey of choosing which part of the boss fight to love. Instead of switching through official tracks and fan made mixes it's all here! Ready to enjoy! You are the truest of true legends, my guy! 🙌
Anyone else kinda miss the sound effects? Like, it just doesn't have quite the same feel without those bass hits of the notes appearing and firing off, at least to me.
Don't get me wrong, I love this mix! I just wish there was a version with the dramatic explosions from the beginning. I love the effect it gives to the fight.
Your time is appreciated! I love this game as well as its music, I'm a bit of a music fanatic and pay attention well to details most people wouldn't even think much about when listening, YINU's Theme is by far my favorite in the game. That Phase 4 - Partial Rock is an absolute treat for me because I love how the Drums and Bass sound so relaxed compared to the blaring EDM in the background and yet they sync so well together. Sorry for my life story...back into the internet cave I go!
Not a single one in here noticed that during phase 2, if you were to play the guitar as mayday to activate the helper turrets, instead of the usual guitar solo that mayday plays, she plays a different solo that fits the theme. I can't seem to find any mention of it
I haven't played this game yet...I've only just found out randomly because if Yinus (edm) boss theme came up in my ytmusic radio and I was hooked and I'm blown away by the ost of this game. I am going to get this.
This is the boss fight that makes you, the player, think: "I'm not the 'Good Guy' in this fight, am I?" Or at least, not playing the role that a protagonist would take in the conventional way. Its fights like this which make you, or the character if intended, reevaluate your role in the game's story.
Yinu’s fight really had me in a pause on the fights, up till now all the fights were on edm artists and a rapper, Yinu seemed so outta place till the mother began to fight. Really showed me that it was Yinu who was playing, but the mother had a-lot of the control and didn’t even realize it
Now I see what is off, When I went through and play the game again a few times and listen to other versions of this, The introduction to Phase 3 had the base game part of the half Piano solo when Yinu and Her mother was changing the battle ground. To where as Yinu's mother finished changing the battle ground it immediately changed to EDM. Edit: (Oops) I meant to be more clearer, Okay when going into Phase 3, the base game version plays until the animation stops for Phase 3 intro. Going from Base to EDM.
I wish this game was more of a guitar hero style gameplay where you race to win the crowd over from how well you play instead. The music transitioning to edm or rock depending on whos going the hardest. Have more genres and online competitions too. That would take a ton of compositional work though.
3:03 my favorite part. Sadly I can't find a full version of this... whenever I look up the edm and regular combo I get the base edm and base regular combined instead of this. Still amazing either way.
People acting like Yinu’s mom was the real villain. As far as we can tell in game they had a pretty good relationship. I don’t know what y’all are on about.
For me it’s phase 2. EDM is fine but when it just drills my ears I don’t enjoy it as much so having a mostly piano melody with edm there to more help it shine is a me likely moment
