You guys have good reactions watching shows and movies what can I ask a suggestion would you both be interested in watching 1990s Law and Order series it'd be very cool and interesting to see on your channel and thoughts it will be worth it to watch
On Israeli Secret intelligence Service (ISIS) if the rumours are true about the Bond being Jewish. You know he only got the role because Israel want some good PR after their genocide
That's actually something I hadn't thought about... the entirety of the James Bond franchise so far has taken place under Elizabeth II's reign. Both film AND books. If No Time To Die were the last Bond film... the first Bond book came out the year after she took the throne... the last Bond movie came out a year before her death. Almost feels like the franchise should be put to rest as well. He was in her service only. I mean, what are the odds that the movie that comes out a year before her death actually has Bond dying as well, when no other James Bond movie or book has ever done that? The poetic synchronicity is fitting.
May as well be on Israeli Secret Intelligence Service (ISIS). Considering who is the next Bond. Giving the iconic role to a zionist for Israeli propaganda reasons.
Perfect ending to Craig’s Bond. At the theatre people were literally sobbing out loud. And there is a post credit line. It just says “James Bond will return.” Classy.
This was supposed to come out in 2019. Then February 2020. Then lockdowns happened. Then they rescheduled for April 2020. Then they just kept moving it because the subject matter hit too close to home.
"We have all the time in the world" is a callback to the George Lazenby 007 movie where he gets married. I won't say more, in case you are going to watch it.
I liked they tied up what felt like a lot of loose ends. The throwback to the first movie is probably wasted on the Craig fans of the modern generation though.
@@alfredstimoli2590 ehh, I disagree. I believe that people should be given the chance to experience a story the way the creators intended it, regardless of how long ago it was created. Otherwise, a major reason for watching it is diminished.
@alfredstimoli2590 No it really isn't. There are loads of people who have never seen that film, and many others. Just because a film is old is no excuse to ruin plot details for people who have never seen it.
The line "we have all the time in the world" is a throw back to a previous Bond film. Even if you don't watch the film, you should treat yourselves and listen to the theme song sung by the great Louis Armstrong. I promise, you won't regret it. **sobs** ❤❤❤
Something people frequently miss about Bond being poisoned: It's not just that he has to stay away from Madeline and his daughter, he literally can't touch *anyone*. If he does, the nanobots will start jumping from person to person until they find their targets. Saving himself would almost certainly result in their deaths.
Exactly. The only possible way to ensure his daughter would survive was for him to die. Otherwise the nanobots that are targeted at her would eventually get to her from someone.
Yup, he couldn't just live seperately, those nanobots needed to be 100% destroyed because once it's in the world it would be like trying to track every individual spots of a strain of bacteria across the entire world. It would eventually be studied and weaponized again.
@@m.i.n.k.y.m.o.o. - That was targeted to Blofeld, so it didn't cause any harm to Madeline or to Bond when it jumped from him to her, but it killed Blofeld after Bond touched him.
They went all out on this one with the action and the cinematography and the gadgets. For a Bond series that felt so much more like a single continuous story than the rest of the franchise, this felt like the definitive conclusion none of the other Bonds got. Amazing how they managed to use the classic "Bond, James Bond" name drop at the end of the first one to show Bond really becoming the 007 we all know and love, and then use it at the end here to show his conclusion. I only wished they had actually called Rami Malek Dr. No, they got everything from the poison garden to him wearing an actual Noh mask.
This movie is not only well tied with the whole Craig series, but it also has good connections with other Bond movies; plenty of Easter eggs. For example, Bond retires in Jamaica, where the first Bond movie "Dr. No" takes place and where Ian Fleming (the creator of the character) actually had a villa called GoldenEye (the name of the first Brosnan movie). And speaking of that, the cigar Bond finds in his Jamaican house clearly shows the Delectados brand, which is the same in the last Brosnan movie. The Aston Martin V8 Vantage he drives in the second part of the movie is the same used in a Dalton's movie. And, of course, there's the prominent use of the song "We have all the time in the World" which was also used in the Lazenby's movie.
I dug this movie. It wasnt my favorite Bond but I liked it. The entire Cuba section is so good. Sliding back into the bar for another drink mid gunfight is my James Bond lol
"I didn't think a Bond movie was going to make me cry." Same lol. The ending was so beautifully done but so sad. Nikki held back the tears better than I did when I first watched it lol.
I did actually expect Craig's Bond to die in his final movie, since it fits with the themes of NTTD and the Craig era. Themes of NTTD: * Retirement * End of the old glories of MI6 * Absolute disappearance of the faces that Bond met * Permanent loneliness * Disappearance of the 'spy Bond' due to his blood family Themes of the Craig era: * Bond being always a locus of pain and disaster for innocent people * Presentation of a world that might be better off without Bond * James with allies who need him, yet look down on him at the same time * Bond's eternal & tormenting struggle against decay His death would have upset me in another adventure with another version of the character (say, Roger Moore's Bond or Pierce Brosnan's Bond) or in a story that didn't have the themes from NTTD. So I feel like Bond's death was a unique, cohesive and faithful way to end the Craig era.
"we have all the time in the world" is what George Lazenbys Bond said to his new wife Tracy (Diana rigg who also played Olenna Tyrell in Game of Thrones), when she got killed just after they were married. She was shot by Blofeld in 'on her majesty's secret service' 😭
The opening sequence contains almost all the openings of James Bond films. The house in Jamaica is Ian Fleming's house, which is called "Goldfinger". This film contains many hidden Easter eggs from all the James Bond films. Not just Louis Armstrong's "We Have All The Time In The World", which is from On Her Majesty's Secret Service. There really is a lot to discover for James Bond fans.
I went to the cinema opening night to see this movie.. the gasp around the theatre with the Mathilde reveal will stay with me.. (I came home with mild Covid afterwards that night but probably worth it)
If you're interested in more James Bond movies to watch, you can watch the ones that contain cast members from Game of Thrones. The best one would be GoldenEye (1995) with Sean Bean (Ned Stark) as 006. Tomorrow Never Dies (1997) has Jonathan Pryce (High Sparrow) as Elliot Carver. For Your Eyes Only (1981) has Julian Glover (Grand Maester Pycelle) as Kristatos and Charles Dance (Tywin Lannister) as a blink and you're miss him henchman on a beach. On Her Majesty's Secret Service (1969) has a young Diana Rigg (Lady Olenna Tyrell) as Tracey. You can watch these films in any order, as pre Daniel Craig Bond films had minimal continuity.
Daniel Craig made Bond 25 right after Knives Out (2019) and it was coming in Spring 2020. Although it was pushed back by the pandemic, I think we as fans had all kinds of feelings with this being Craig's last one. The theme by Billie Ellish is great. She's the youngest performer of a Bond theme ever. Glad it dropped in pre-release and got the award buzz going. It did win the Grammy, Oscar and Golden-Globe before the film came out. The story itself is so much to offer. Bond is still quite the hero and stakes even higher. Equal amounts of villians and allies to handle. The plot of the bigger picture, 'Preventing world domination' put it closer to the earlier Bond films like there was indeed much at stakes. At the heart, it's all about the stoicism of Bond. What he means to be as an legendary figure of the spy genre. Bond's sacrifice in this era at the end was one of the biggest surprises ever. Going in like a hero and leaving out like a legend. The choice is controversial for all the wrong reasons. It's ok for Tony Stark to sacrifice himself for the greater good in the MCU, but 007 can't do that in a similar situation?! (I mean really). Craig's time as Bond has been a memorable one. But don't worry..... James Bond Will Return. We don't know when. But he surely will.
Lot of people had an issue with them killing him off. I thought it was well done, but they need to establish it as canon and that be how he dies, like Sherlock Holmes and the Hound Of The Baskervilles. There’s no reason we can’t have other stories that take place before this in chronological placing, but the way or variations of the way he dies in this movie should be the official way his story ends and we can’t have his ending be some different way in the future.
Actually a very great finale for the Craig Bond series, they did it really well! Such long built stories are always very enjoyable, I don't think the older movies had that. Love the reactions, very entertaining and funny! ❤
I am sick of people insulting the older films it pisses me off.the older films had more life to them, more humour, more gadgets and great action.Daniel Craig was a sourpuss.Sean Connery and Roger Moore where the best.
You should go back and start with Dr No and do all of the bonds, they all have so much charm but you will also see how far they have come Love your videos and loving your Peaky Blinders reactions
Hi John from Scotland here enjoying your reactions to Bond movies . I'm 65 now I grew up with bond .another part of the Bond movies are the great soundtracks.all the best to you both keep watching and have fun x
Hi hon. Great reaction! Frodo had to go to Aman in order to be healed fully because carrying the ring for that long had corrupted him with it's darkness. Which was why his wound had never fully healed and why he said he didn't feel the same as the others. Aman, sometimes called the undying lands is such a pure place and will allow him to get rid of the corruption. Not to mention it's also an incredibly wonderful place. 👌😁👍
The bit where q says about it not being for Christmas is a reference to a UK saying puppies aren't just for Christmas because of people getting dogs at Christmas then abandoning them when the novelty wears off.
One of few movies that have made me cry. This, the first Fast & Furious after Paul Walker died, and Avengers Endgame. All from movie franchises I grew up with (two first especially, marvel later in my teens).
For me Casino Royale will always be my #1 Bond film, I think it does Bonds origin story so well and the relationship between Bond and Vesper is brilliant. Goldeneye and Goldfinger are close 2nd’s though.
"We have all rthe Time in the World" is an hommage to "ON HER MAJESTY'S SECRET SERVICE"! You absolutely have to watch this. Although Georgev Lazenby is a bit weak as "007", the movie is one of the best in the series!
Well, be prepared. Ana de Armas is about to enter the world of John Wick as "The Ballerina". She's playing the ballerina that we see Anjelica's Huston's character forcing to dance until her feet were bleeding in "John Wick: Chapter 3 - Parabellum".
This and Casino were my favorites of the series....also...2021!? Feels fresh like last year!! 'we have all the time in the world'....no. We actually don't.
"The Bond Thing" when you see Bond in that "circle" you're actually looking through the barrel of a gun. the twists that go around the outside of what you see is the barrels "rifling", giving the bullet a twist to make it more accurate.
The neat thing about this movie is that, even though Safin wasn’t actually working with SPECTER, unlike the previous villains, and was actually they’re enemy, the fact that his family had been part of SPECTER and that Blofeld’s order made him like this means that Blofeld is still the main overarching villain of the Craig era. Safin was just an unforeseen outcome of Blofeld’s actions, and he only had the opportunity to rise because Bond had disrupted Blofeld’s plan for world conquest, giving him an opening for his own, more insane but more dangerous plan. Safin is creepy, but he’s more creepy like Greene in Quantum of Solace, not in the sophisticated, psychopathic genius way that Blofeld and Silva are.
Great reaction guys like always. This is the one Bond movie that had me on the edge of my seat and hit me emotionally when I first watched it. I've been asking for a movie that finally kills James Bond for years because seeing him survive so many impossible stuff so many times made me roll my eyes but when they finally did it it's in a movie where I don't want him to die. But now the Bond Frachise can cast anyone they want to be Bond, because now the name would be a homage to MI6 best spy “James Bond” so the next agent could be called “James Bond” as a Code like 007. That conversation between Bond and Madelleine at the end is my favorite moment of the entire Bond series. After all the years of Bond being this man who was doing everything and anything he could for his country, in the Craig era he allowed himself to also be a caring, broken, vulnerable man. It's the culmination of years of cold, and calous moves to keep the world safe, and this final moment exists solely for him. It's a beautiful, yet tremendously sad moment, and it makes me cry every time I see it. I'm sure some may disagree that that isn't "James Bond", but I'd argue it's the REAL James Bond, and we were only allowed a few small glimpses of it through the entire arc of his films. Ana de Armas stole the show love that. A behind-the-scenes clip shows Armas training with firearms including machine guns, and there's another clip that shows her rigorous physical combat training too. That's a huge commitment for a character who is only on screen for around 10 minutes. There some fun-facts about this one. The motorcycle stunt was the hardest stunt in the movie. according to stunt coordinator Lee Morrison, it was the hardest stunt to shoot in the whole movie, despite there being others much more intricate. The reason it was so difficult was that it was such a bumpy and slippery ride, as the roads in Matero, Italy, are paved with cobblestones. Morrison said it was the "worst he ever shot on." The Louis Armstrong song used in this movie is also a from another Bond movie, that was also the song heard at the close of this movie as Madeleine drives into the tunnel and the scene fades to black. The tranquil fury and classic smolder are just a couple of the many Bond mannerisms and behaviors that Daniel Craig nails, and it isn't hard to believe that'd it'd make anybody speechless when seeing it in person. That's exactly what happened to Rami Malek. The actor told in a interview that he forgot his lines, saying, "'Oh, this is because I'm looking straight at James Bond.' I couldn't handle it. It isn't the first time this has happened”. Keep up the good work.
25:10 Ana De Armas did 3 weeks stunt training before this film. We’re getting the John Wick spin off, Ballerina, this year where she’s going to kick a considerable amount of arse and I can’t wait.
.... all the time in the world.... Now you just HAVE to see On Her Majesty's Secret Service. George Lazenby's only film as James Bond. And a criminally underrated one as such.
Don't know if it was mentioned, but this is the one that was delayed by the pandemic. It was supposed to come out spring/summer of 2020, but was delayed until 2021.
You guys were great!! As always. It's a tough to watch the end of this one. It is sad, but Bond is gone. I really believe that. As we say in Texas; y'all be safe.
After the credits, it does say, "James Bond Will Return". Not Daniel Craig but it just means the next Bond actor and those directors stories will continue.
1:09:36 My tears fell freely. As a father of a 15 yr-old son (our only child that we could have), there are aspects of this film that I relate to very strongly. There is absolutely nothing that I would not do to protect him. NOTHING.
Hey Nikki and Steve. First time commenting. I loved your Mission Impossible reacts and now these Bond ones. To me these last two movies are the masterpieces. You see, Vesper had to leave because Madeline was coming. Only the daughter of an assassin could be James' s true love. And the wonderful theme songs by Sam Smith and Billie Eilish. Ahh, chef's kiss! Regards to you both from Illinois! ✌&❤ PS: Also the moving We Have All The Time In The World with Louie Armstrong, harking back to On Her Majesty's Secret Service. Just fantastic.
Interesting fact: when you’re contracted to play Bond, although obviously the actor makes other films, but they’re not allowed to wear a Tuxedo on screen in other films
Glad that you both enjoyed these BOND films. Nikki reacted better than I did 2 the end of this movie, as I've seen all of the 007 films & am a fan of James Bond 4 most of my life. My ranking of Daniel Craig's James Bond films are 1) Skyfall 2) Casino Royale 3) No Time To Die 4) Spectre 5) Quantum of Solace Please react to the other 20 Bond films in order of release. Thanks for your reactions.
Ana de Armas (the 3 weeks training agent) was also in "Yesterday", "Knives Out" and she was the lady (face torso on an Electronic Billboard) in Blade Runner 2049
I have been watching Bond since the late 70's and I dont care what anyone else says, Craig is THE best Bond we've ever had. Casino Royale, Skyfall and No Time To Die are in the top 5 of best Bond movies.
For me "Skyfall" is the greatest (I mean, they built the set the exact distance for Javier Bardem to walk from the far wall to closeup while giving his intro monologue), but this one is awesome, from a Bond so distraught he sits in the car and briefly considers letting the bad guys shoot him to a car chase with machine gunners, just another day at the office for 007, but this time with a child in the car. And I too wondered why Bond's EMP watch wouldn't short out his communications, but on second viewing Q says something about "stops any hardwired network in range" which isn't how EMP works but oh well. Great reaction.
there are many iconic villians and henchman through out the franchise as well as quotes and other characters for each side also humor and less humor through out the franchise which is why its so good even at the beginning with Sean Connery. ps sean connery wasn't the first person to play bond however a guy named Barry nelson on a climax a tv show in 1954 was then sean Connery was chosen for dr no in 1962.
Awesome review guys. I always thought it would have been fun to see a James Bond/Ethan Hunt crossover movie. Where they helped each other save the world! With some banter between them of course.
the funny thing with this movie either people really hated it or people really liked it for reasons. I'm in the group of people that really liked it. also can't wait till the next bond comes out to see what its like casting music locations etc still as awesome as ever.
Some stuff in this movie is definitely homages to the 1969 Bond movie On Her Majestys Secret Service. "We have all the time in the world" was the theme song.
I know most everyone goes on about Casino Royale as the best Daniel Craig Bond…but, I think Skyfall is the best Bond film of all films, but think No Time to Die is second. I loved everything about this last film. We care about Bond. He shows more emotion in this film than all the others combined. But, I hope people see how great this film really is.
At the end of the movie Madeline asks James isn't there something they can do. My immediate thought was, how about an MRI or an Electro Magnetic Pulse (EMP)? Nanobots are technology, EMPs shut down technology. How about it scientists out there? Bond had a way out, just not the time.
For people didn’t know the somewhat predictable plot points in the film were done actually on purpose it was Barbara Broccoli and Craig’s way of honoring Ian Flemings novels and the classic bond films from the past.
Btw. as a critics video (maybe CinemaSins) reacted to Bond's... last scene like there's no way he'd be killed by it. The amount of explosions he had suffered in this movie only, he could be eating them for breakfast to build up immunity 🤓
Daniel Craig is my favourite Bond. He's the most physical, his action scenes were crazy good (maybe because of the current times as compared to older Bond movies). A recommendation: Guy Ritchie's The Gentlemen, movie and TV Series, I think you will love them.
