Do you use a pedalboard? If so what kind?

Made my own long time ago. Has two levels and space under the top level for power blocks. It’s actually really good. I’m not a fan of having them all on the same surface and just tilting it. Have two rows (levels) of goodness at my feet. Velcro isn’t perfect, but it works ok. I find it’s all ok until you need to take a pedal off... and then... ... Ha ha... ... the glue fails. Oh well.

The MXR dc brick power supply fits under this perfectly. Eight 9V ports and two 18v ports in the dc brick.

The clips seem to be a direct copy of keymod AR-15 accessory mounts. You simply put the screw through the "buckle" and start the back plate onto the screw. Line up the backplate parallel to the slot and stick it in. When you tighten the screw the backplate rotates 90 degrees and catches. Finish tightening the screw. Easy.

From Leo: Interesting design concept. I am using the electro harmonix soft bag. The pedals velcro to the inside of the bag. No "board" part at all. It works ok, not perfect, but I generally only use 4 pedals.

I don't know about this deal. Looks like putting it together is a pain in the arse! $150 US seems a little steep too, but whatever works for you I guess. Not my cup of tea. I'll use Velcro until the end. Thanks for sharing.

I got a Harley Benton pedal Board which surprisingly didn’t accommodate my Harley Benton ISO 1 power pack. That board looks much better and as my power pack is quite skinny it will definitely fit underneath. Great Video Landon 👍

Thanks for the review. I think this would've been my ideal design for a pedal board with open slots so that the cables could still go underneath, and those grooves that allow you to fasten pedals on without Velcro. It's only the lack of clearance underneath and the price that is a problem. Is your power supply the same size as a Donner DP-2 power supply or is the Donner slimmer? Are there any similar pedal boards to this with the open slots and also grooves to attach your pedals without Velcro? I would like to see this on more designs.

All looks a bit fiddly but in its favour ; no velcro , which I don't like for the same reasons as you, it can get very dirty looking fast . What I do need is that power supply , seems like one of the most popular out there.

Ah man my Mondo may not fit on it. I’d better look up the specs, but I love the idea of no Velcro and would be willing to look at other power options. Thanks Lan Man!

That's kinda cool. On my board I have a TS9 going into a TC Electronic Dark Matter and occasionally I like to swap those two around in the chain. In my case this might be better than the Velcro I'm using.

ya initial learning curve is slight, but it's simple after doing a few buckles

I kept waiting for you to turn the board over to show that the brackets or "burkles" provide enough grip to keep heavy pedals in place. Presuming my PSU fits under the board, how would I route the cables?

Cool idea but too many little parts to lose, velcro is fine, it’s clean and it works and the power pack could also be a problem
@landonbailey

it's been solid, still use it to this day
@Kilovolver

Velcro is ""clean""".... specially for the pedals, you have to stick it under them and it will never come out fully if you want to sell the pedal for whatever reason.... gets dusty, get cat and dog hair embedded in it... For home studio I will use this and wont have to stick velcro to valuable pedals. I use CIOKS PS which fits well underneath. Darn I should make a video.

Cool idea! Bit of an oversight not allowing enough space underneath for standard power supplies. I still think I prefer the good old velcro but it's great to see new ideas. Their version 2 will probably be much better! Cheerd dude!
@landonbailey

ya I agree. I saw though that Joyo makes their own power supply which looks like it will fit

I have the smaller version the GPB-01. My only gripe with it is there is not much room underneath for a power-supply. I couldn't use a fully isolated power-brick as the ones I have seen are all too large (not enough clearance). I have found a power supply that fits, but its not properly isolated (even though it says it is). I really like not having to bother with velcro.
@rickk1235
@rickk1235 8 месяцев назад
I haven't tried it yet, but I'm thinking of turning the handles "upside down" so they rest on the floor. This would give more room underneath for a slightly larger power supply.

Too bad your power supply doesn’t fit, unless you mount that to the top. Those buckles look a little tedious if you wanted to always tinker with different pedals. Nice work on the review!
@landonbailey
@landonbailey 5 лет назад
the buckles were actually pretty easy to work with after doing a few. but ya overall pretty decent board, minus a couple issues I mentioned. cheers!

I have some vintage pedals and this looked interesting because it would not have to adhere stick velcro strips on the back, but thinking about how I would be losing this board in a bag and sometimes it might end up face down etc. My spider sense says the pedals will fall off the board despite the rubber on the little blocks. No ne really wants to spend money on a board but considering the investment in your effects and power supply, it may be pennywise and pound foolish not to invest in a good board but even more a good solid case with ample of padding to hold it all in place.
@rogerneill7962
@rogerneill7962 3 года назад
I just got one. Those rubber feet are rock solid. Your valuable pedals won't be popping out. I locked in everything from Boss pedals to Strymon to moogerfooger. All tight. The bigger issue is the lack of space for a Pedal Power 2 underneath. That's almost a deal breaker right there.
@mosesramirez6330
@mosesramirez6330 Год назад
@@rogerneill7962 This is what I was wondering. It seems strange that even heavier pedals would stay in place, but if holds your Moog pedals, it sounds solid to me. Do you use two buckles or four for those pedals?

Honestly the concept is cool ,I get they want to do away with Velcro.but tbh it isn’t worth the price tag.the you end up using more brackets than you should with one pedal at times.and cable management isn’t quit so good.they give you these brackets to hide the worried but doesn’t work well with pedals that aren’t right next to each other .also lotices a few pedal supply’s don’t fit forcing you to out it in top taking up more space and wires .its a cool idea but not worth the price .maybe if it was liek$50-60 maybe

Their “joyo” power supplies fit but I highly recommended against any Chinese power supplies. The board itself is solid and great. I use a strymon Zumba on the board. Get a good power supply.
