So grateful to hear from you. I know we don’t “know “ you but we get so very invested in your family especially after watching you from the beginning. My prayers go out to all of you and so glad all are safe.
Getting my own Tractors has always been my Dream for my business. I just acquired 2 recently, earning $22K weekly has been really helpful. I can now give back to the locals in my community God bless America🇺🇸
Josiah seems so sad. Maybe he just doesn’t like the attention that he’s receiving in regard to his and Jonah’s relationship. I’m afraid Josiah may leave the farm just to get some relief and find his own happiness out from under Jonah’s control. I pray they can become “partners” for what is best for the farm, but that’s going to require respect for each other, instead of “I’m older and can tell you what to do.” Prayers as they navigate this journey.
I love your idea to let them do it their way! Josiah has been doing all this a long time, and Don't need Anyone telling him he is doing it wrong! His way might not be anyone else's way, but it is Josiah's way!!
Grateful to our, merciful Lord y'all are all safe. Been bathing your family in prayer. Big hugs, support, encouragement and love to each of you from Mississippi.
glad to see you are all safe!....when it comes to Jonah and Josiah......both are proven leaders, so when put together they butt heads.....they each need to be in charge of tasks......they work better that way
Do you know about Ryan Hall's Channel? He is the largest weather channel om youtube. Several days before the hurricane he started saying the Asheville area was going to be the worst part of the hurricane. He was predicting the massive floods and large loss of life. I just keep wishing more people would have got the word how bad this was going to be. He was describing it pretty well and I started worrying about you , the Hollars and Sow the land. I,m glad you and your new house are safe. Heads up for storm later in the week.
Yes same here. I'm in Canada and follow Ryan Hall and have learned to watch an area of his predicted weather as it's showing a pattern of how I'm affected further up in Ontario as I border Michigan. He's just mentioned another storm that's coming in and it appears that it is going to have the potential to be similar to Helene and is predicted to take a very similar path 😢
Greetings from Northeast Ohio. First of all I’m so glad you’re all OK and I’m sure glad the home you waited a year and a half for is OK as well. The bridge going out makes me the saddest. That’s the bridge y’all go across to go to grandma in big daddy‘s house. Be careful, letting Jonah always pick. Maybe he’s picking the easy sit down jobs and Josiah is doing the walk around stay on your feet jobs. I do predict Josiah will be the one to leave the farm. He does not look like he enjoys any of it, which is OK. I hope you always leave it open for them to choose their own paths.
Glad you're all ok. What's gone is a learning lesson for the future, hurricane incoming wise. Josiah is equally as smart as Jonah & yourself. The issue is that their ages and age ranking in the family equal a "head butting" at times where they disagree. Also, the oldest expects to be in charge. The next resents being treated like they're not as able as the oldest. Unfortunately I was stuck in that dynamic. Sometimes it's not meant as the next oldest thinks it is. That can create conflicts where there isn't any.
I wonder if things would be easier if Jonah learned to speak more courteously, less arrogantly. They are both so smart and think for themselves. Admirable young men.
Praying for yall and your family and neighbors too. As you come out of this, please teach us what you learn about things we can do to be better prepared for disasters.
So glad to hear that the Rhodes and others on the farm are okay. Terrible storm damage all around me as well in E TN. Been praying for you and for your area as well as the Newport TN area. Sorry to hear about your turkeys.
Josiah looks so much like Rebecca. ❤ We currently have three teenagers at home (the 4th one is in college), and they're such a huge help to us. Even just having them do things like carrying groceries and moving furniture for me really saves my back. When they were little, it was a whole circus doing chores and things with them. 😂 It's surreal when your kids get old enough to drive you places too.
Please stop sharing the issues between the boys. My grandsons have been watching some of your vlogs and they are agree if it were them, they'd be upset with their private family matters being shared with the public. One of them said, "what if it were Justin and Rebekah fighting, would he being sharing that with everyone all the time? Probably not."
Parents also have provided their children with the necessary skills to deal with when the xxxx hots the fan. Nothing in life prepares you for what it's actually like til you live it. After all who ever felt secure with a parent that doesn't have the backbone to say we got this. And as above you're entitled to your opinion but it's Justin's channel. Justin's kids. Stop trying to tell him what to choose.
Seeing the sneak peak of the storage container all the way over in the creek gives an idea of how much water came through the holler! 😮 I am so glad to see that little clip of you and Henry. I will continue praying for all the families, homesteaders, and businesses in Western NC.
So glad to see you after. Had heard you were damaged but ok. Praises to the Lord for that!!! My prayers are with you and your/ our friends 😊. Prayer is the best thing I can continue to do for you in that I’m a in another state.
As with every family, each person has their own personality, and there will be times when personalities conflict. I could see the difference between Jonah and Josiah. The quiet ones tend to explode more, due to holding their thoughts and feelings in. Eventually you will have to figure out what each son is good at,and let them work alone, until a team job needs all hands on deck.
wow the flood event must have been huge perhaps put in some earthworks to control the next event. bamboo holds dams wall in place watch Jeff Lawton's video on the recent zaytuna farms flood event that went over the trees and how a few of his dams stayed intact. watching you put up the electric fence all the time seems like a lot of extra work have you considered using the trees on your property as fence posts and just fencing a few paddocks in with a real fence.
This kind of permaculture doesnt use permanent anything, thats the point. Portable fencing, water containers, milking stanchion....all change as needed. As the land changes in what it can provide, you adjust your usage.
I’ve been worried for you all. Yesterday I watched an update on The Modern Yoeman channel and in the comments was that “Justin and Rebecca” had hurricane damage but everybody was okay, what a relief. Seems that we have more than usual to pray about. Thankfully God does answer prayers. ❤ Love you guys ❤
I have been so worried about you guys. I am glad you made it through without too much damage. Hopefully the high tunnel can be repaired. I am glad you have cellular service. Praying for your continued safety. ❤
You got that river going right thru your property. So sorry to hear about your animals and bees, poor things. When you redo things, you will have to put them up high on the hills. Glad you are OK and your house.
I feel like Josiah is not the chatty morning person. I think he needs a coffee. I think He and Jonah are great workers but they bicker like my sister and I do. Neither one wanting to take the sound advice of the other person. Just a clash of personalities, but they will have each other's backs no matter what. When it counts.
It would be a delight to see Jonah take Gideon 1 day a week for a month. Jonah could still Boss. He’s a natural leader. Josiah clearly doesn’t need bossing .
I’ve been praying 🙏🏼. I have family in NE NC. But I knew yall were in western NC. Sending prayers to all who have lost loved ones, who are missing, businesses and farms lost. ❤️🙏🏼❤️🙏🏼. Thanks for updating us Justine
Thank you, Justin, for letting us know how you all survived the hurricane. I've been worried and praying for you. We are so sorry to hear about the damage done to the farm but so glad that everyone is okay. I know you have been concerned about your two oldest boys not being able to get along and I'm glad you are taking it seriously. Jonah ought not to be bossing Josiah at all and he needs to be told that. Josiah proved himself when Jonah was not able to work. He may not do things Jonah's way but that doesn't make it wrong. If they can't get past their differences, they need to hash them out with the parents. Just separating them may help temporarily but it won't solve the problem.
I'm glad that you and your family are okay. I'm sorry for your loss and the damage. My brother and sister-in-law live in Hendersonville, NC, and they had some damage. They are alright. Thoughts and prayers 🙏 🙌🙏 for everyone affected due to hurricane helene.
I have 3 boys. As they got older their relationship with each other has really grown and they hang out together and do stuff together. It’s growing pains as they mature and become their own man. It definitely gets better!
Happy Day, indeed! I'm so glad you and your family are doing ok! Thank you for giving an update. Take care, Rhodes family. Here's to many more Happy Days ahead!😀
Shame about the bees and turkeys. If that's all you lost? You're fortunate. So many lost everything! Glad you're all safe and somewhat unscathed.❤ hope your greenhouse survived snd your food storage. Our weather is so friggin crazy. I'm glad your house is good. Hard to imagine getting hit by a storm of this strength today.❤
I believe both boys are capable of doing things on their own. Have you taken them aside for an outing and just ask them - what is the best part of your day… what is the worst part of your day. , and Why. Start a conversation with no judgement…listen and acknowledge how they feel… then ask have you thought about…
Your farm, even after this storm, looks soooo beautiful (the shot which starts about 5:10 is just amazing). Sorry to hear you lost some animals, but grateful y'all are ok. And, just want to say, it's been delightful watching you raise these young boys into responsible young men; Next, Gideon and Henry. And, Lily is an amazing young lady now. God bless!
Thank you for the update before this vlog. I've been quite worried about you all... knowing how severe it all went in areas of NC. Having the updates from the others and nothing from you especially after hearing briefly they "the Rhodes family" had sustained quite a lot of damage. Sorry this has happened but I'm so thankful none of you were phtsically hurt!
The quiet ones are deep thinkers and most of the time forward action after thought! You are raising strong personalities. Dad the boys are becoming young bulls and each has mixed emotions at times. Both need too have their work space and living space from time too time.
Farm chores stink. Kids are getting big. Growing into their own I’m sure kids would rather be sleeping in but…. I wish y’all well. Excellent skills to have.
Justin, so very very sorry for your losses. Know that we are keeping you all in our thoughts and prayers. Praying you can get things back in order in a timely fashion. So much destruction in that area of the country. So thankful you are all okay. That is all that matters!
so happy you are all ok. I have been waiting to see if you all were ok... Praying for all that got hit by storm. I live in Gulf Coast area and have gone thru many horrible storms. Katrina for example. Love and prayers for all.
They are growing to be men, Justin. I have three sons and there comes a point where they become like that and that is the point where they are becoming men. Mine are now in their 30s and 40s and all are valuable contributing members to society. I have grandchildren, too, one of them a "man to be", the same way, doesn't say too much, lol.
Hormones, they both need their own room at the moment. Can the older boy move down stairs? There seems to be an extra area where you can put a bed. 😊 Glad to see everyone safe and no major damage except for the loss of the turkeys.
