I’m from texas we are suffering the aftermath of the snow storm that left us without water so far 15 days. Your video saved us allot of money. We live in a 1920’s home and I have no water in any of our kitchen and restroom faucets or our shower stall handheld moen. Thankyou!!!!!!!!!!! Your video motivated me to flush our pipes just like you did in your video in hopes of getting our water pressure back. Thankyou!!! Thankyou!!! I have water now and I had to replace our sinks because they are clogged and I am not messing with taking them apart just like you said. Thankyou!!!! By the way we initially started with 5 pipes busted in different areas. Turns out even if you leave your water running day and night dripping it will still break your pipes. Yes we did that for 3 days before the snow storm. Anyways you Rock!!!
Thank you SO MUCH!!! 🔥🔥 I appreciate people like this who do the trade and take time to do these videos to help others. I will forever support them and there channel. Years ago this would cost me $150-$200. And I still wouldn’t have learned anything.
Steve I seen alot of crap inside water pipes but that was wild! Nice work , they been putting all those issues off for sometime and it just gets worse .
In this episode: Steve tackles a punch list of plumbing problems, for a lady who desperately needs to get her pipes cleaned out. Later, the final resting place of fluffy the hamster is discovered, and the age old question of "why do you wear gloves" is pondered once more. Stay tuned to the next level network..... Mama.
HA! Had a cleaner tell me the shower drain was slow...pulled a foot long hair and soap tube...she screamed..."is that a dead cat!" and proceeded to vomit in the hall toilet!!!!
Hi, love your videos, wished you did service around here . Move to Ontario Canada. We need good guys like you ! Are well water here is awful. Everyone has softness and a lot of cholesterol. Lol 😂
She's a clogger mama. City water company was doing some work up my way on some of the larger mains in the street. The sections that they cut out had what looked like barnacles, corrosion and vegetative growth in them. Now I understand why house pipes clog like this. And they chlorinate the water here. Imagine what grows in pipes in places that they don't?
That was impressive...NO JOKE people who see this and aren't plumbers don't understand how hard it is to get out that old stop AND solder in a new one...
I get a kick out that saying it's cholesterol Steve. I always said a build up, now I use cholesterol to, what a look I get from some customers. lol lol great video
The valve did it! Strange that it quit all at once!! O well it happens! Looks like de pipes be stopped up!! She can't be a leaker Momma!! Great video Steve
i saw a comment on another video that saved me. When the supply was fine, but the problem was between the handle and the spout, I pulled the filter and placed a nickel in there, with the o-ring, and reattached it, thus blocking the water from coming out. Then I disconnected the hot from the supply and left it over an empty bucket. When the hot on (the hot was the blocked side), i then turned on the cold water to force the cold to go out through the hot supply line, which blew out the crud that was in there. After that flush everything worked fine. no need to buy new faucets!
Very entertaining...currently I have no plumbing issues but can relate. Why would you wear gloves + not wanting to burn the house down. Thanks for the video🤙
is it to much trouble to get a aerator cap and disconnect the hot line and use the cold pressure to push threw to the hot side see if it will clear open both lines seems like alot of work though or even use a co2 hcav drain line sprayer
I had a water softener leak resin into the piping at a rental unit. After 8 hours, I was able to clear most of the lines, but I still have problems at the cold water lines on two of the faucets, and one of the tubs is completely blocked. Any suggestions for how to clear the lines? I was thinking for the faucets of directly connecting the hot water supply to the cold water supply, opening a nearby cold water faucet that has flow, and turning on the hot water faucet. Does that seem like it would work? I don't think the valves are bad, but perhaps maybe too restrictive. Will hot water on the resin beads cause more problems?
I lost water pressure in most of my house. The water softener membrane broke and the softener media clogged up all the areators and the toilet fill valves. Quite the mess. Had to fix the softener but didn't replace any faucets or valves, just cleaned them out.
17:45 Some bathroom companies will give up serviceability to make their products more stylish. Hiding the aerator might make the faucet look nicer but it causes unnecessary difficulty during service. That isn't the worst example of where style is valued more than serviceability. Siphon vortex one piece toilets might be one major example. Style over serviceability by manufacturers of cars is similar. In order for the Chrysler PT Cruiser to look different from other cars, certain repairs take twice as long to do when compared to the Dodge Neon, its closest relative. Although not as bad, the modern VW Beetle was always more time consuming to repair than the VW Jetta, the nearest relative.
Did you remove the rubber gasket seal before you soldered those valves? I thought that was generally considered SOP. If I'm wrong, and if there's more information, please lmk.
He may have. I do it. Never had been told to do it though. The directions say just to open the valve and don't over heat.. And I grease the threads too
As soon as the stream of water gets smaller and harder, I always put the calcified aerator in pure vinegar overnight. Then they work perfectly again and look like new again.
🟠 HERE IS ANOTHER FIX: First shut off the main water source, then run a garden hose from the neighbors house or completely separate water source. Attach the garden hose to the the clogged water fixture. There are adapters available at home depot if you dont have a perfect fit. Open all connected faucets and/or fixtures, and also remove the GPM flow-restrictiors from these plumbing fixtures which will allow and backwash the collected sediment/clog out the other way through these fixtures. Run hot water through the garden hose if possible, hot water can potentially loosen up sediment and clogs better. Alternating from cold to hot in 5-10 minute intervals can also expand and contract the pipes loosening clogs/sediment up as well.
After a hard freeze I have cold water only and no water to half my house. I am on a well with filter, but sediment is a constant war. I have access to water at 40 psi and I am going to try the backflush in the morning. Gonna separate the main line from the well and let whatever comes out run onto the ground. Glad someone at least mentioned this in passing. Hope I don't clog what I have. I will let you know how it comes out... Or if it comes out. Thanks for posting this. I at least don't feel i am in completely uncharted territory now.
Well, it worked. I have water to all sinks, showers, and faucets, hot and cold. Still a lot of grit and material in the water, but I'll take it! With water actually moving, I can deal with that. Thanks again for your post. Not sure I would have tried it unless at least one person out there in virtual land had done it.
@@johnswoodgadgets9819 thats awesome John, so glad to hear this. Maybe give it another blast at a later date after things have settled again and it may clear up more. I can totally relate to the feeling of relief you must be having. After i unclogged mine, i was so happy i didnt have to pay a plumber to rip my shower wall out and pay him a couple of grand. Because you know they would have done that instead of flushing, since its way more $$$ for them. Happy New Year!! 😊😊
Couple of full port ball valves and 1/2 copper sweat X 3/8” OD compression adapters to avoid the Cholesterol. A whole house water filter and replace the Galvanized Water Main???? LMAO
Can you tell please that such waterfall water faucets have a water restrictor which slows the water flow. I bought & installed the same faucet in one of our bathroom and the water wasn't good since the beginning. I removed the water restrictors in all our bathroom faucets and showers too. But because I didn't installed this waterfall faucet so I am not sure how to open and where to find its water restrictor. I will really appreciate if you update about the water restrictor in such kind of faucets. Thanks,,,Syed
So I have one faucet that just went out, it looks like the first thing you did. How much did you charge these people for this so I know what to expect?
New valves. Don't hook up untill you flush out line. My heart sank when there was no hot flow . You could also have disconnected the hot and turned on the faucet to warm to back flush the hot side.
Try miractic acid or clean through spout and disconnect hot side hose and open hot side on the facuet and allow the liquid to eat away at the calcium build up
Had a house where all pipes were blocked. Well water with heavy sand content in the water. Took 20 years of use, but it blocked all pipes in the house to a trickle. Whole house pex redo. Close to $4000.00. Still wondering if that sand might be blocking up the waste to the leech field. Save up for that adventure later.
