Thanks guys. This has really upped my deep engraving game. That third inbetween pass seems to make a big difference both in speed and how clean the engraving is. Also, the higher frequency for the deeper pass means that there is almost no finishing work needed. Great video.

Another great video! Since the last video I’ve been brushing up on laser pathways and their effects on metal finish. I’ve been able to finally achieve smoother finishes. This video solidified that and filled in some of the questions I had! Y’all are awesome! My favorite duo on RU-vid hands down!!

Great video. I remember going over this in the training, and I have been using this method ever since, on other things, not just coins. Works really well once you get the concept and tweak the settings for whatever material you are working with. Thanks for the videos and passing the knowledge.

Love the video! I've been hearing "hammer / shovel / sweep quite a few times. Happy to find the theory video. I'm running a JPT 60w MOPA on a 200mm lens and I'm mainly doing deep engraving in axes and hard steel. I need to use the 200mm due to the 'generous' depth of focus which allows me to utilize designs over the entire face of the axe as the contour changes. Anyway, I've been doing a 5:1 ratio of deep engraving passes followed by a cleaning pass in Lightburn - S1500/P90/F25/Q200/.025/Bi, rotating 77* over the 5 passes, followed by the cleaning pass, repeating the pattern 20 times. This takes between 4~6 hours PER SIDE. Would you utilize your method for this type of project too? The slightly higher frequencies and wider line space would be ok for hard steel? I appreciate your time. If this is something you'd prefer to take to PM, I understand. Cheers!
@FiberLaserTraining
@FiberLaserTraining 2 года назад
ANY engraving would benefit from the Hammer/Shovel/sweep theory. 5:1 isn’t bad all the time. Especially if you’re using the air assist from Patrick. Feel free to reach out to me anytime.

great video. I don't understand how to build the layers for mutliple hatches. can you explain how you did multiple layers in the image?
@FiberLaserTraining

Of course. You assign the pens to the individual hatch elements. I will do a video in depth for you!!!

Great Duo! I just got my 50W Raycus and started with Lightburn (No EZCAD2 for this Mac User)....really dumb question I"m sure...what is the angle value of 5670? I'm baffled as that's WAY more than 360....
@FiberLaserTraining
@FiberLaserTraining Год назад
It is trivial for the most part. BUT it would be whatever the answer to this equation > 5670/1.77=°

With your jack hammer, shovel, broom analogy why would you not use a lower frequency first. Iike 25 instead of 65. Don't lower frequencies remove more. I use 200mhz for a cleaning pass.
@FiberLaserTraining
@FiberLaserTraining 2 года назад
Good question. It’s mainly because I want to be able to pull the coin off the laser and hand it to the customer. Higher frequency helps that. Makes sure our hammer isn’t over hammering.
