It's really not helping NASCAR outgrow stereotypes about how normal racism is among NASCAR fans.

If you want to look at it from a purely logical/no emotion POV (which is not the greatest but whatever): nascar wants their brand image to not be associated with confederate flags, racism, and inbred white trash anymore. I don’t think it’s a bad look at all. I think it’s a convenient action just to get rid of a driver they didn’t want. Remember Noah signed the contract with PettyGMS, and since Johnson has taken over all his people are now running the organization. There is no loyalty to Noah, and is on track performance is poor. They are changing manufacturers, and alliance with Gibbs, which Noah and Gibbs do not get along. Seems like Noah was going to be replaced regardless, but he gave the team an easy out. Now we probably won’t be paid and legacy and JBR can go off on their merry way putting JHN in the car.

It is possible he views race, ethnicity, gender, countries a certain way , nice to some but then rude to others. Maybe THIS could have been the last straw and someone said ok, enough is enough. The Larson situation. Publicly that was released is just the 1 that everyone noticed. But from my iracing experience, my friends iracing experiences. Larson has a history of colorful language. So when he got caught, it was a matter of time. I have friends who have raced against Larson and they’ve all heard it, 1 of my friends even told him to stop. Larson decided to say he’s a Nascar driver and that dude is nobody so Nascar guys can do what they want. Well Nascar probably thought: ok, we will do what we want. Teach you a lesson. A lifelong lesson. Now Larson has grown up a lot. A lot. About time. He’s a father. He has to realize he needs to be a role model and set examples for his family. Gragson has a lot to learn. A lot. They didn’t kick him out. He’s only suspended. So he has a chance to turn it around, act like an adult. Treat people how he wants to be treated. Sure he can feel how he wants, but he has to learn, if he says something to someone, they have the right to defend themselves and say it back. Gragson needs to mature. This might help that. Or make it worse.

Indefinitely doesnt mean that he can never race again, it only means he is suspended for an undetermined amount of time. It COULD go on forever, but it could be 2 weeks.

Many reasons. Nascar has a stigma to overcome for one. Second, sponsors are the lifeblood of NASCAR. Why would any sponsor happy with him liking that meme? If NASCAR does not do anything the sponsor sees that and the damage it does to their brand.

Did you forget that Larson was indefinitely suspended as well? NASCAR didn't force him to go through sensitivity training and be done with it. They gave the ground rules that if he wanted to have that suspension lifted, there were routes that he would have to go. As someone who has witnessed driver fatalities, I've always been against the drivers using the cars to pay each other back. It's dangerous, expensive for the teams, and unnecessary. And while I agree that the Larson incident was more egregious, I at least support NASCAR and the team for being consistent with the punishment. At the end of the day, whether you agree with the decision or not, the only one to blame is Noah for not thinking more about the consequences of his own actions.

I’ve been looking around and yea, it’s actually true, Noah has a history of social media and hey, it caught up with him. Look at Larson. He has a history of using language that nobody should use. He used it every day, Larson was told by other iracing racers to stop. He didn’t, he said it where many heard it. His sponsors left! Larson is lucky he got a hendrick ride because his other option was a Rick ware car. Not a long list of options. The long list is the teams that didn’t contact him. Gragson now has a chance to reflect on his actions, grow up, mature, come back a good guy. If he takes care of his baggage, who knows, his results might improve. Larson has been great. But, Larson has to understand his other option was Rick ware. Gragson , whenever he gets another chance, might not have multiple options. He might have only 1 option.
