Good stuff! Thanks! My Mom had a stroke and could never use her left arm again. She had my Dad put a nail through the center of a heavy square of wood. She would put a potato on the nail and peel it with one hand! She never let her disabilities get to her, she worked out how to do as much by herself and be as helpful as possible!

The wheat flour has GLUTEN (gluey, gooey, sticky) ingredient. It is this portion of the starchy flour that grabs onto all the dirt, dust, and other debris, and then washes off the clean shrooms.

Hi Webspoon! Have recently 'discovered' your videos and am astounded by the simplicity of your common sense approach to so many things that we do so often and we never thought of it! You're a light in our kitchens ... I'm making a notebook of your ideas for quick reference .... my memory sticks now and then...mind too full of info and age causes a few hiccups now n then. Keep up the good work. I would like to just draw your attention to 1 fact that FEW chefs and housewives seem to be aware of... TOXICITY OF PESTICIDES used by farmers, SHELF LIFE extending SUBSTANCES used by corporations E.G. fruit growers Corps, where food is subjected to very fine sprays which leave a film of waxy chemicals on the food. (Im not even speaking of gasses pumped into giant stores to slow down the ripening period for export -by boat). Test and see for yourself. Take a broccoli head and dip it into water, swish it around for a second or two, lift it out and see how quickly the water drains off. Now take a bowl of water, add a few drops of diluted, non toxic dish soap (here in South Africa, we have a few brands, Dart [Canyon Organics], GLC [Golden Products or GNLD], to name a few), stir it for a second and then swish the broccoli in it like you did in the water, lift it out and compare the speed with which the water now runs off. This shows that the water repellant is no longer there... so it runs off more slowly. The water is now reaching the veg. I worked on a farm where tomatoes were grown in tunnels... The dreadful poisons used to rid the plants of white fly and red spiders was mixed on in rotation (there were 4 different poisons) were so toxic that just 1 x 100ml (the maximum allowed to be sold) cost over R1000.oo - and that was 10 yrs ago! Drops of it were used at a time for 3 tunnels... that's how toxic it was. When it came to picking time... your hand slipped on the fruit due to all the gunk sprayed onto them. Then they had to be washed in a conveyor belt with brushes suspended over them.... no soap was used... So what is sold to the public is basically just wiped fruit but still has a film on it. So, please show the people and help them understand how much toxic stuff they ingest if they don't wash their fruit and vegetables. I mentioned this because I saw the part of the video about pineapples. They too get sprayed.

Store almost empty condiment bottles in the fridge upside down, making sure the lid is on tight, and the contents will settle at the opening so it's easy to pour at your next use. When you're at the very end, instead of rinsing it into the sink, add a wee bit of water and swish it around to use the remainder in soup or whatever as a bit of seasoning. Swish a little water in most every container or can so you're not wasting anything. Think about everything before throwing it out. What can it be used for? Leftovers can be turned into a meal. Use WP's dough recipes and stuff or make wraps/dumplings with leftovers. Boil bones and save vegetable liquids for stocks. Use fruit liquids for flavoring tea or thicken them for toppings. Pork fat is lard. Bacon grease is heaven. Fry chicken skins for crispy snacks or sprinkle on whatever. Zest all citrus and let it air dry on the counter and you'll never have to buy zest. Add a cup or two of jarred pickle liquid to flavor a pork roast and throw in the garlic and peppers from the jar. Pickle fresh vegetables with leftover pickle liquid or as a last resort, use it instead of new vinegar and add baking soda/salt to freshen and clean out the drains around the house.

@@kalaw1900 Freeze hot and sweet pepper stems to use as yogurt starter. 5-6 jalapeno stems and caps (no pepper) to 1 qt. heated and cooled milk and incubate as usual. Crazy sounding but it works. The hot peppers are spicy but the yogurt makes tasty veg dips and savory cheesecakes. Bet dehydrating the stems would work, too.

I loved all of the tips shown today, but the one I think I will use the most is the elastic band around the spoon to stop it falling into a pan, as this happens to me all the time. One tip that I will share with everyone, and I always use is to use a minestrone cup a soup with croutons to every savoury meal I make . Just sprinkle the contents/sachet of soup into the sauce when it is almost done. This will help thicken the sauce, as it is used dry and really adds a different flavouring to the meal. I use it with a savoury mince for lasagne, spag bog, shepherd's pie, mince and dumplings and mince pie etc. Or I will use a chicken cup a soup to any white meat meal and vegetable cup a soup in any of the above recipes I've suggested, but only when you use them in their powdered state . I hope these tips will give people ideas to enhance their flavouring into savoury meals. Hugs and stuff xx A

@@WebspoonWorld A long time. Too long to say specifically. It's quick and easy, and you don't need anything special, as in another kitchen tool - peeler, or knife. I think I figured out to do it this way years ago when I was going to leave the peels on potatoes and just wanted to clean them. So I scrubbed them with the stainless steel scrubee and noticed not only was the dirt coming off, but I could scrub the peelings/skin away as well, and then been doing it that way ever since.

Use a (used) pineapple or tomato juice metal juice container. Cut out both lids. Remove one metal lid rimming on one end. Cut off the top and bottom of the pineapple. Place the container upside down and push down onto the pineapple. This cores out the fruit from the pineapple shell. Pull out the fruit. Use a small food metal container, with the same cylinder coring method to remove the woody core. Now you have an intact pineapple fruit ring. Cut into horizontal rings, or long slices like papaya-/mango-slices), or further cut into chunks. Use the core and pineapple shell for video uses. Replant the pineapple top and grow a new pineapple plant (!).

That's a fantastic idea for efficiently extracting the fruit from a pineapple and making the most of the entire fruit! 🌱

I loved all of those but the best one was the sponges on the tongs!! They advertise here in Australia on the morning show for these types of really expensive cleaning tools! On my morning off next week I shall laugh when watching a $70 cleaning tool when I have tongs and sponges in my kitchen, thank you😁🙏🙏🏾 Bethany says hi 🤩

I like that you don't assume we all have a kitchen full of gadgets! Except for the pineapple knife (for the cornn You didn't use it on the pineapple😀 (I've seen other ways to strip corn off the cobs😉) You use things most folks have. My whole life has been hacks, using a thing in as many creative ways as possible, saving brokeen things and making other things out of the parts. I lost my home in 2016, and everything in it. Been mostly homeless since, and in a nursing facility now. There's not much I can chew or swallow, and my 2nd bout of covid while in here lost most of my ability to taste. So I have no appetite, and watching cooking videos sometimes helps me! I was a foodie even on food stamps, and flavour and colour were 2 of the only pleasures I had left. I am synesthetic though, and can taste in my imagination, and sometimes that sparks an appetite🤷🏽‍♀️(fully vaxxed, but it's Txxzz and a covid petrie dish) So, Thank you, and I will be tuning in often👍🏽❣️😘
