I think Rick giving Morty his collar was one of the best moments in the whole show's history.

So, when it comes to love he pretends like he's not attached so that when he loses them again it won't hurt as much. He can't escape the pain, the sorrow, the helplessness that he felt. He couldn't save those that mattered the most to him. After that he sought temporary relief for his pain, constant drinking, partying, nonsense adventures. The Rickest Rick is the one who never wanted to be one.

So I'm only 20 rn, my parents dumped me when I was 17 and a junior in HS on the other side of the US (WV) from (FL) and was told it was my fault that they left and took my brother but left me... I wasn't good enough, I managed to graduate HS and just recently lost my gf, my place and my job...I'm currently laying on a old Matt in my Dad's Ex girlfriend's house, hoping to join the fire department so I can make something out of my life. I'm just tired of losing everything. Everyone fades away as soon, as they come into my life.

To be fair, you have to have a very high IQ to understand Rick and Morty. The humor is extremely subtle, and without a solid grasp of theoretical physics most of the jokes will go over a typical viewer's head. There's also Rick's nihilistic outlook, which is deftly woven into his characterisation - his personal philosophy draws heavily fromNarodnaya Volya literature, for instance. The fans understand this stuff; they have the intellectual capacity to truly appreciate the depths of these jokes, to realize that they're not just funny- they say something deep about LIFE. As a consequence people who dislike Rick and Morty truly ARE idiots- of course they wouldn't appreciate, for instance, the humour in Rick's existencial catchphrase "Wubba Lubba Dub Dub," which itself is a cryptic reference to Turgenev's Russian epic Fathers and Sons I'm smirking right now just imagining one of those addlepated simpletons scratching their heads in confusion as Dan Harmon's genius unfolds itself on their television screens. What fools... how I pity them. 😂 And yes by the way, I DO have a Rick and Morty tattoo. And no, you cannot see it. It's for the ladies' eyes only- And even they have to demonstrate that they're within 5 IQ points of my own (preferably lower) beforehand.

Sad but.. gotta understand that you gotta be happy that you are where you are, and that you do exist. That you are somewhere that people care for you and appreciate just you. Everything will come to an end there is no doubt.. but that’s past us, the only thing to do is forget and enjoy what time you have. Because none of us can stop it. Rick is the most relatable character to my life imaginable just constant mistakes caused from pain and suffering cause the only thing you truly love is always out of your reach but is constantly on your mind and then existing in a limbo not sure if you’re really alive or dead or if anything is even real.

Rick Sanchez is just like Tony Stark. He shows he doesn't care. But his action are always focused towards protecting his loved ones. He couldn't let go Birdman either. But he is burdened by every mistake he made. He shows he doesn't believe in God and love. But he knows he is just fooling.

Ya know. I always thought this was kind of a paradox. He lost the only person who chose to love him and try to understand him. He's devastated already, never really recovering, and then his daughter has a child with and marries who he deems to be more or less unacceptable to him, having children that carry some same traits but he's compelled to love them anyway even if they piss him off. No wonder he's so pessimistic and existentially down sad
