Hello, I received a message where I am supposed to be selected for a prize. The message asks to respond to a telegram account. This happens after I wrote a comment to your video. I am wondering whether is another scam as the one of few months ago about the les paul style guitars…. Thank you, I look forward for your reply.
Darrell, I am a former guitar player and a 18 year hemiplegic stroke survivor, having lost the use of the right side of my body. I would just like to say "thank you" with everything that I am for your fantastic videos. Through your videos I feel the excitement I felt in years gone by for guitars. I owned many over the years from many brands, and I can't really say I had a favorite, but your excitement brings back the thrill of unwrapping a new guitar. Thank you sir, for everything. Blessings from Kansas~
This type of guitar is right up my alley! Nice F hole, with the bit hollowing, beautiful heel joint, oh and it’s an offset with a tele aesthetic. My two favorite things in 1! I’ll have to add this to the list for sure.
They’re made in England, hence very expensive. They’re definitely an investment though. Spend 2000 on one of you plan on living another 35 years, it’ll be worth a lot more. Maybe. No guarantees tho.
just checked the price overhere in Holland for this excact guitar, 2200 euro at kaufmann guitars while an novo miris is about 4500 euro , pfff , that;s half the price for in fact the same kind of guitar , although the novo has an trem on it , but then again thats an major price gap .
This one as got me head over heals in love for many reasons. Just to name two of them 1. It’s perfection in how it sounds & looks. 2. The total build from the headstock to the body, it’s finish and assembly. WOW!!! Simply a FANTASTIC guitar… 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
For over 2 grand it should be a great guitar! Many of your fans, like myself, don't have that kind of bread to spend on guitars unfortunately but finding new ways to soup up our cheap ones is always welcome:-)
PJD is the real deal! I love these guitars, especially my Carey Standard in Baby Blue! I've done a couple of videos about these guitars and they never disappoint! Cheers, Darrell!
@@audiophileman7047 I have, while I think it's agreat guitar I'd go with a Parker over it. Sarah Brightman's guitarist used a Parker on the La Luna tour. Best sound I've ever heard.
@@andrewjackson9417 Be careful about what famous players play. They often mod their guitars to fit their playing style and to get the sound they want. You may not get that sound out of a stock model. I just received a book out of the UK that explains how David Gilmour of Pink Floyd changed his "Black Strat" over the decades to fit his playing style and sound. Then there's the unique way of playing to get a sound that we can't duplicate.
@@audiophileman7047 I can't even find any prices on their website - where are you seeing the price? EDIT: Never mind, I found them - have to click 'Order' to see them.
Much like my G&L Fullerton Fallout. P-90 at the neck (Splitable) humbucker at the bridge. Light weight offset body. Like the semi-hollow body and the finish that allows the feel of the wood to come through(Old carpenter taking). This thing looks like a keeper. Check out G&L if you haven't.
G&Ls are great, have a tribute ASAT classic semi-hollow (think a Thinline tele with double binding) beautiful book matched ash top with a transparent blue burst. Their pickups are like Fender pickups evolved to a higher level (all tributes, while made in Asia, get California made pickups and bridges). I got lucky as the neck and fretboard are a nice flame maple.
Love the vids, all of them. Would love to know what you play them through and setting, I always struggle to repeat your tones. Maybe you do already, I just don’t see them, thanks from the UK Keep up the great work
But watching your videos for a long time you do an amazing job. You deserve all of your success, its been nothing but a pleasure watching the channel grow
I recently bought a PJD Carey Elite. Hands down the best guitar I have ever owned for tone and playability - custom shop production quality but superior value. Hand built means waiting 10 weeks but man is it worth it. Discovered the brand on this channel so big thanks to DBG.
Very nice instrument: all the right details at the right place. Finesse, versatility, timbre and class. Only one thing I would add: the tummy cut. But it is a minor thing, more of a desire than a problem.
It sounded and looked great. In a way I'm surprised that they're as expensive as they are, but I know you don't show only entry-level guitars. Definitely on my go-to list now.
Sick guitar! I did notice though in the video that the string tree is not straight though. I'm going to have to look one of these up and plan on putting one into rotation here soon.
Darrel has really good punchy timing in his playing. Dig it. How delicious does that guitar look? It is a mashup of lots of ideas, but I agree that it totally works. It's one of those guitars that just says "hey come grab me and give me a damn good thrashing". Nice pickup choices. Sounds great.
Darrell, Thanks for your videos, always enjoy your playing and honest evaluations. Best Wishes to you and yours from a true California fan. You inspire many, thanks. 🏆
Can you please try any Tagima guitar, it's kinda hyped here in our country and tell us what you think of that guitar, and try to compare with some of the budget guitars that you have, thank you I'm from the Philippines.
Hi Darrell, great find I believe & has the ‘cred’ to match. Thank you for this great review. I am always keen to know about options in the industry. Cheers 🎸✌️
This is a great looking guitar. I just love offsetguitars without a trem only fixed bridge. I wish they had an imported line/produktion line of that guitarshape with P90 and a HB (and without the F hole) to bring down the price. Hard to find out there and almost always with a trem, not fixed bridge (read Fender). I love when manufactures bring out new shapes that dont look the same. But it always boutique handbuild guitars. Nothing wrong with that if you can afford it but its to expensive for me. I think this guitar in this shape but more affordable would sell like crazy. 😃
Hello Darrell, I'm home today playing hooky, saw you had a new video and had to watch it. I just bought 2 of those Blackstar practice guitars from Guitar Center, they're on sale at half price, $199 instead of $399, I freaking bought two of them and they evren came with their Blackstar bluetooth speaker, I'm not trying to push these little guys, just excited to finally get a good deal. This PJD guitar looks and sounds great. Damn dude, what will it take to play like you, I'm in my late 60's, do you think I have time? I hope so, not giving up but I'd just love to rip a guitar like you. Great review, I'll look into this guitar, my collection has room for one more. Peace brother.
I've been watching quite a few of your vids lately. Have you ever done a review for a "FirstAct"? I bought a Les Paul version and it was super cheap and is way better than my Epiphones.
I respect a fine hand-crafted instrument for sure. I gotta say, for what they're selling these for all the positives you point out had better be world class. Definitely aspirational as opposed to attainable for a lot of guitarists.
Your videos are awesome and i wish this instrument weren’t quite so expensive; of course it is insane build quality so i’m not surprised. Are you from Minnesota or Wisconsin maybe? I’m in Madison and you sound like a local ya know.
Darrell, your reviews are the best on the tube! I would you to bring the Acoustasonics (Mexico and USA back to back would be amazing) on the channel. Great job man!
it made your job easy darrell, , i`ve designed and made a couple of guitars myself ,,this is `very` similar to my last effort, coincidentally its awesome,
Yes, I have a G&L Tribute ASAT Classic with the string ferrules sticking up just enough to be a little annoying. Years ago I found string ferrules without that lip around them for a Telecaster partscaster that I converted from top load only to string through. Guess they don’t make these anymore?
At 2:48 as you're saying "no tooling marks", tooling marks along the fret are exactly what the image shows. I'd expect to see a mirror finish before suggesting that the frets were sublime.
Nice guitar, but there are some really nice guitars when you get to the 2300.00 usd plus shipping level just for the PJD standard series, just saying...
Darrell Love the channel. I am in love with the PJD guitar you used in the video. O have tried to find this model and color but I am not able to find one here in the US. Is there a dealer located in Canada? I'm in Detroit so if so I could make the trip to get one Thanks Keep up the good work!
Dig the insight into a smaller, unique approach builder; however, being a U.S. citizen buying a guitar A. from overseas is risky and super expensive if want to return B. playability (not wise to purchase a guitar without playing). I bought a Sire from Thoman it was a piece of junk (they shipped to me for $65. USD….wanna guess return shipping ? … sit down…$700.+ yea, so as the old saying goes “buyer beware”. I sold the Sire and swore to never buy sight unseen. IF I had a RU-vid channel I suppose it wouldn’t matter as I’m sure the channel here paid $0. in shipping or returning this guitar. 🤙
Hi Darrell. I haven't played in over 7 years and am considering getting a good guitar to play gospel music. Any recommendations? I was thinking about a fender like sound or a semi hollow guitar. Price range would be 200 up to 500 dollars. I thought about getting a Glarry ggs101 but saw some videos about it being a problem to setup on your own. Thanks for your videos, keep it up.
‘NOBODY knows about this guitar’. Clearly not this brand has been all over…on Andertons, on Henning’s channel and others. They are also making the new Chapman UK made series
Love everything about this guitar except that it isn’t in my price range. I made a bee line for their website right after watching, while reaching for my wallet 💳. I can’t justify the spend. I just play for fun. You’ve Don a lot of budget reviews so I figured this would be around $1,000. Oops. Great review, You do good work with your reviews.
Darrell is so goofy and silly at the same time saying nobody knows about this guitar😂. What about the guys that made it? Sorry Darrell gotta have some fun every now and then. Cool guitar and great playing!! GOD bless ya!
Ah Man, you should check out Reverend Guitars. I have the Club King 290, which is a semi-hollow with 2 P90s, with a Bass Rolloff Contour knob. Their Double Agent is a P90 and Humbucker and sounds super versatile!
