Bass anglers love to throw lures at what they can see. Makes sense, but we need to think about this as well when fishing for bass. Understanding this bass behavior can help you catch fish that other anglers are missing.

Your totally right about the fish grouping up in one area when they're chasing bait the group as well but when the bite is tough and I find one I always cast back and cover that area say 50 ft circle with multiple casts and more often than not I squeeze out another bite or 2. And toss different baits back as well just I try to use the same color the first one bit
@SteveRogersOutdoors
@SteveRogersOutdoors 8 месяцев назад
@@jeffreyrodgers5835 still after all these years it is so rewarding to pick up multiple bites from one area. Just love it.

Excellent tip. There are times when I tend to concentrate on visual targets, but forget about the areas in between. Will be keeping this in mind in the future. Some of my best fishing is when I am able to parallel long ledges and grass beds.

I learned something too. I use to think pros in too much of hurry, thus they 45. The bank, but sometimes they 45 bank to test multi depth zones concurrently. Me i like to spot fish, and parallel bank shallow then first drop from my shallow parallel bank cast then move to next spot after few diff baits if course

Such a great video! It really can be hard to visualize what those bass are doing without having their frame of reference. Like the old fishermen use to tell me when I was young, "You gotta think like a bass."

I always try to bring myself into their world. Bass are hunters so when I'm out there I try to think if I was a big fish hunting where would I be? How could I hide and hunt? Whats a good place to be on this big body of water? Sounds weird but I find it's helped me find some larger quality fish trying to put myself into that headspace.

Steve, your underwater footage and the way you go about it is so helpful. Have you ever thought of tagging and tracking a bass? May need to get some kind of permission, but that info would be awesome and fit your channel. Thanks.

Another great video, but I have a question. I apologize if you have already covered it. When fishing shallow water, I understand it is a good idea to silence or turn off the sonar on fish finders due to the noise they make. Have you seen any behavior in your underwater videos to confirm this is a good idea? Also, what would be considered shallow enough? I mainly fish lakes with a depth of about 15 feet, but catch most fish in less than 8 feet of water and I have not seen if make much of a difference. Thanks

What I have seen is if the vibrations puts them on alert, they usually just slip a little deeper quite nonchalantly and then circle right back in a minute or two.

Walking the banks you fish out of confidence could help locating fish. if you increase the amount of information you know about the bank you will better understand why the fish go there “as above so below” right?
