What are your thoughts compared to the nock2it, silverback and 2smooth? I've struggled for a couple of years trying to correctly use those instead of my SH wiseguy and I may consider this...BTW, archery hunter for 30 years coming to your Boise ES Camp and looking forward to learning all I can!
It seems obvious but I’ve always shot a trigger release. Could you show/detail how you actually adjusted to your holding weight? Did you use your scale to get this setting on the release?
Dudley talks about overcoming Target Panic with this release. How about getting 3 people that have had TP and see what they think after using it. If this truely could help with that, it would be easy to spend the $220 for one.
For the boa strap you can take a silver sharpie and mark the cables right where they go into the spool. That will give you the repeatability your looking for.
Got mine in the mail yesterday. Got it tuned to my draw weight. Excellent release. Will take some getting used to, but I have some bad habits to break, and this is going to help, lot.
This looks nice! I might have to try one.....BUT....I am going to have a hard time walking away from my GOAT. The GOAT makes me smile. I always enjoy the way you present info! It makes your vids worth watching. Everyone can pass info. I just dig the way you do so!!!
Awesome breakdown man!! Been shooting this release all week and starting to really love it. Never shot a tension release before, so took some adjustments. Like you mentioned I needed about 5 clicks on my sight to get things lined up but once I did, been amazing! Not a huge fan of the boa dial on the wrist, but the micro adjustability of the tension is awesome, especially for someone new that's trying to find their comfort zone. Good stuff as usual 👊

Elk Shape I'm over 70 years and so enjoy watching you young guys doing your "thing" with so much passion and energy. Oh, what I wouldn't trade to be 35-40 again with all this fantastic Archery equipment of today. Although. I've killed a few critters large and small with my custom made longbow back in the day. Anyway, I have just received a new Stan extinction 2 and can't wait to break it in. Hoping the new internal design works as promoted- no load transferred to the hook. Good Luck to all of you
Danno, Looks like the same nylon webbing your Scott's use. If you like it enough, you can swap your XT out with the Back Strap and get your preferred buckle set up. Or order a replacement buckle setup directly from Scott.
Awesome video, appreciate the no bullshit breakdown that you always give. I was on the fence about buying it until now. Also your video editing is fantastic, and has noticeably improved. Very smooth and fluff, never felt the need to skip ahead 👍
I bet the left hit is because you are expanding into it pretty hard, that will tend to move your bow arm left at the shot (for a right handed shooter). If I am used to index release from hunting season and then switch to a thumb release I shoot with back tension, then when I am not used to it I am set up so I am pulling harder to get it to fire....arrows hit left for a time until I get it sorted/normal again.

I'm shooting a B3 Hawk at the moment with heavy spring. I really have to pull to get it to fire which I like. Keep up the great work guys!
You guys realize this is a carter head on a TRUGLO release, right? The TRUGLO detonator is actually pretty darn good if you shoot index. The only thing here from Dudley is the logo.
been shooting mine about 2 weeks now and lovin it! my only worry is if for sum reason the boa strap fails i dont think i would be able to draw the bow without losing the release...i gotta find out if you can buy just the boa strap..i would def want a backup strap
Two things....1 I don't think I'd like the boa strap because you never know if you get your strap the exact same every time..could lead to inconsistency...not much ....but possibly some. 2, this release is basically a Carter Like Mike with a safety in my opinion.
This question is a little bit off the topic of this video but I was wondering if you are able to use that HS3 to check the pulling weight of that release or any other release like the Silverback?
I would like it if it was a strap holding release. However, this isn't the first wrist strap back tension release. Truball, I believe was the first to market.

Exactly. Quickie and Like Mike are meant to be shot like a tension release. Wrap your finger around the trigger and slowly pull till you get a surprise release. This release has a safety and then it's exactly the Like Mike or Quickie
Except the only thing in common is the wrist strap and that you need an index finger...it’s a tension based release for those who prefer a wrist strap over a handheld....so it’s a silverback plus with a wrist strap. It’s a tool (and the only one like it) or someone like me, who can’t shoot a handheld and wants to shoot a tension release. You all should’ve at least looked at what the product was before trying to knock it down.
You would’ve likened it to a silverback with a wrist strap than... Don’t be so hurt someone else had a good idea and is making money on it, and helping other archers. I mean, the car is exactly like the horse and buggy but changed the name and cosmetic looks.
What happens if you want to let down after you have depressed the safety, is just a matter off taking you finger off the safety and let down without it firing?
I've been thinking of getting one. I had the same thoughts about the consistency. I was thinking about finding that perfect for and mark it with tape or a bright colored sharpie. Like gold or silver
Got this release and have probably shot about 150 arrows. The struggle has been consistently left of aimed target. I’ve tried adjusting a number of things but can’t figure this issue out (still fairly new at shooting and coming from a Scott Ghost trigger wrist release). Ideas?
How's the poi compared to your other releases? My Carter attraction shoots dead straight but my two trigger wrist strap releases have a poi right a couple inches.
If you put your palm over the boa when you turn it, you barely hear any audible noise. I definitely wouldn’t put it on in the tree stand without palming it tho.
I have been thinking about giving this a shot. Do you feel it is worth the price point as a training tool for those of us on a "regular working man" budget? It looks like it's the pretty standard size attachment nylon strap for a Carter release. I shoot an RX1 as my primary, so do you think I could pull the nylon and the functional part of the release through the wrist strap for my RX1 and use the standard leather strap and buckle?
I am a regular working guy, and I have been shooting it now for a week. I suffered from target panic that would come and go. Sometimes it was bad, other times I wouldn’t have a problem. For me, this was well worth the money. I would try to shoot a regular index release by wrapping with finger and pulling through. A couple of issues I came across was consistency with how hard I was pulling on the back wall and still punching the trigger or plucking back to make it go off when my panic was bad. This alleviated that for me. It takes work and practice, as it’s a really foreign feeling at first. That’s my experience with it, for what it’s worth.

Not a new product or a new design. Carter has been making many versions of this for years as well as a few other companies. Equipment does not cure target panic.
His complaint is he can’t Clickett to the right tension on his wrist I have one of these and it fits perfect every time I click it into the way I feel on my wrist. You have to be an idiot not to get it right.
