Tim, I bought a Stan SoleX based on your first video. I love it and sold my more expensive "high-end" releases. After around 1,500 shots with no issues, I plan on buying another, but they are out of stock in most places right now.
Purchased this due to your recommendation from original video. Absolutely loving it so far and getting others on board with it as well. Awesome to hear about longevity of release
I was shooting the carter quickie plus for years, saw your video about the stan solex and now it's my main release. So far it's the most consistent index release I've shot. Thanks Tim, you're content is great!
Got mine for Christmas this year after seeing your initial review months prior. Haven't gotten to hunt with it yet, but so far love the feel of it. The wrist strap isn't the most comfortable, but I love how I was able to turn up the tension to help with my form. Thanks for showing us a great affordable option on a great piece of gear!
I have been through at least 4 releases in 3 months and couldnt get comfortable or accurate with one. Been contemplating buying the Solex since your first video with MFJJ. Finally did and it instantly tightened my groups. Absolutely love it. Great choice. Thanks for the recommendations.
Dude ur soooo underrated ur camera quality is sooo nice! U know how to capture the cool angles, ur humble just about every thing that makes for a good video
@@devinbehrens9931 I bought the one from TRUGLO and it already comes with a strap ( what’s dangling from the wrist strap like the one in Tim is showing) take the release off the old one and put on the new one. Hope that helps.
I bought my first bow last month and I’m loving it. Did my first 3d shoot over the weekend and cant wait for the next one. Wish the scene in Tri-cities was as good as what I’m seeing in Spokane. I’ll definitely be heading up there in the future. Subbed and keep up the good work.
Bought the solex because of you a few months back, absolutely love it and will probably buy an onnex soon. Solex has a crispy trigger and it shoots just like the day I pulled it out of the packaging and shot my first arrow with it. Very satisfying release. Very adjustable too
Already subscribed big dog, I just picked up my first bow ever, a diamond infinite edge pro. I am going to be documenting my journey on my channel, thank you for all your doing. Tight lines brother🤙🏻
Great video. Working on year 6 with my Spot Hogg Wise Guy. Love it for all the points you made but the biggest plus is the Wise Guy’s detent that locks it out or back by your forearm. Keep up the great work!
Scott Talon. Love how you can spin the strap and fold the release back, and it stays out of your way on the back of your hand, but is able to get back into action in seconds. So I wear it all day when hunting.
been shooting a few different releases over the last few years. still trying to figure out what I like best. Definitely been leaning towards thumb. But starting on index always has a place in my heart! Great Video!!
Bought the solex in this offseason after watching your first video. I really prefer it over the backstrap I was using, but didn’t care for the strap. Not sure why it didn’t occur to me before you mentioned replacing the strap, but I just swapped it with the boa that came on the backstrap and it made it way better for me.
Great review Tim that is a really good release and if it works for the person that buys it that is using it to shoot with and it has no problems that’s all that matters. Keep up the awesome reviews Tim.
I’ve been shooting a Fletcher Flathead since it came out. But it’s no longer available. This release has been on my radar as a replacement. Appreciate the review. Also, nice to see someone practice with a full quiver.
I tried Scott’s and was settled on using the Wiseguy until I saw you guys talking about this. I’m in Alberta, but had to order from LAS. Coming from the firearms side, I’m used to having some “creep” in my trigger. My only negative is the barrel adjustment. That tiny set screw doesn’t hold well and frequently works it’s way loose. I’m a strong proponent of “One is none, two is one”, so I will be purchasing a second unit in the future.
I shoot a tru ball beast xt and I love it! Hook style index release and you can adjust the positioning of the trigger as well as the tension. It was $105 when I bought it almost 2 years ago
Been trying to buy this from MFJJ for like a month! Gotta get that thing back in stock. Thanks for the content! Learning a lot about archery and equipment.
Just started shooting this past season using a cheap Blackout index. Need to upgrade and keep seeing a lot of good options like this one, the Wise Guy, and Quickie. Curious if you just choose one and go trial by fire to find your favorite? I'm definitely a budget archer so I don't have hundreds to kick around using different releases. Any additional thoughts on this? Thanks Tim!
I've been itching to get this release, especially from your previous video. However, due to the nature of my work, I couldn't swing it at the time (seasonal work and my first baby in August). I can now purchase it, but it seems to be sold out at all "reputable" online retailers (Podium, Lancaster, etc). Seemed to be for a month or so. Do you know anything about this? Possibly a revision or backorders? I want this release to practice before Tac season. Thanks Tim. 100k here we come!
I looked into the B3 hawk and it had so many bad long term reviews. After about 9 months to a year they would start releasing on the draw and people were punching themselves in the face. I was planning on going with a Solex after watching your other video, but found a stupid deal on a Scott Legacy and so far so good. As always, love your videos.
Probably 5000+ shots on my Solex since Dec 2022. Nothing has beat it yet. I don’t buy the strap being cheap. Has held up just fine, and it looks like yours is doing just fine.
If you listen to Tim Gillingham a index is more forgiving because it keeps everything in a straight line and after shooting other types I would agree and when you learn to to control it is a game changer as well.
Hey Brother. I'm currently using a Tru-Fire Smoke Max. But, I will be upgrading it soon. Only because, even at its shortest adjustment, it is just not the right length for me to get my finger wrapped around the trigger. I am considering a Scott Echo because of it being the strap style adjustment. I know you don't like the closed jaw releases, I just feel more confident that once I clip on, it wont come off of the loop. Have you shot the Echo? And if so, did you like it?
I started shooting this release about a year and a half ago . Coming from pretty good release in a scott little goose… i have to say this release is best index ive ever used . Once you get used to the strap attachment, which only took me about 3-4 shooting sessions….. i think anyone who tries this release will agree it is the best
Stan Xtinction 2! I’ve bought 4, 2 for me and 2 for my brother. Discontinued but eBay had some. It’s an amazing release! I also do not like the buckle so I bought the truglo boa and use those! Won’t go back. I may buy more just to have multiple backups. Lol
What is the target made of that you’re shooting into? Looks like stacked horse stall mats hopefully I’m correct cause I got a bunch I’ve been meaning to use.
One thing I would recommend is to not get lazy about adjusting the strap length how ever many times it takes to find the very best results for YOU. I’m OCD about all my hunting gear and probably shot a hundred arrows and made multiple multiple strap length adjustments. Get it correct so you never punch it-never. I’m super impressed with this release I bought from SVA with Tim’s 10% off. 👍👍
I shoot a NockOn nock2it. Or a Stan Onnex depending how I feel that day. Come to Total Archery Chalenge in San Antonio let’s have a shoot off and have some fun!
I have a ? And can’t seem to get an answer never shot a compound bow but want to over 50 and can’t seem to get a good answer what kind of bow should you get to just shoot in the back yard want to keep it under a grand out the door
Also would like to say watched a lot of your videos and your partner in crimes love both you guys you make it look fun and learn a lot about specific things keep it up🤙
Took 9 minutes n 37 seconds before you said the name of the release. I have a Tru fire hardcore on a boa that is going on 8 years n I shoot year round with it 65 bucks
i have been shooting the same scott wildcat for 15 maybe 20 years hook release more accurate BS single gaw just as accurate and it stays hooked to the bow while your waiting on stand but you out west guys would not know about that . PS that why 10% of the hunters kill 90% of the game.
Not true that a caliper release is less accurate. It is more accurate but you need to squeeze not pull the trigger. The release you have there requires the string to roll out thus causing your arrow to wiggle side to side at the target. Switch to the cobra caliper and your arrow won't wobble and ranch fairy will be much happier with that. This vid here is nuts. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-fMFKse-SHGM.htmlfeature=shared
just cuz I was being cheap at the time I picked up a truglo nitrus with the boa strap in 2018. there is now over 5000-10000 shots on that baby and still shoots like the day I bought it. never in my wildest did I think it would make it this long. and sorry I had to unsubscribe because B-Mac told me too........jk
