I thought they were good before you found out they were Kangaroo. Even at $200 they would be well priced, definitely a good buy for you especially with them fitting you like they do.
Have always loved Noconas... What a great find indeed. Like you say, persistence pays off when it comes to visiting thrift shops/CL/ebay.... Good stuff does turn up eventually. Love that nice thin kangaroo leather also...

Funny seeing this when I just acquired a gray pair the other day and I agree, they fit amazing. I have been looking for a size 11D Roos for years but always find them either the person was asking too much, they are in bad shape that would probably cost more to get them repaired or they get sold before I could get to them.
The chance of coming across these, and at that price, and in your size is really, really small. That might literally be 1 in a million if you figure every thrift store, your size, and that only double digit price. Freaking crazy
Man Jeremiah did you luck out!!! What a great pair of boots to find and a perfect fit. Wish they had them in women’s sizes or made men’s sizes a little smaller. I wish boot companies would make more women’s boots that are in men’s styles. A lot of times I seem to find more boots I like in men’s styles than in women’s styles but they are usually a little too big for me. Congrats on your find. 👍👍😀😀

According to my boot maker, Kangaroo was the choice of leather for boots because of all the attributes you mentioned. It wasn't until Osterage hitting the boot scene knocking out Kangaroo for the choice of leather. I don't own a pair of Kangaroo boots but I may get a pair built. Those boots are a real find! I was thrown at first, as I hadn't seen that grain on kangaroo. In the UK and Australia kangaroo is used for light weight, strength, flexibility and longevity for soccer shoes and it's always smooth, hence my initial thought that your find was bullhide. Jeremiah, How well are the Tony Lama (USA) crafted boots? I've been looking for ostrich boots for literally weeks and boot barn has a pair of Lamas round toe that I love on sale for 380 (normally 780) that I've put in the cart 3 times and haven't pulled he trigger on. I keep hearing things that have me on the fence with the Tony Lamas. Thanks for your help and all the great content you put out, I've really enjoyed it.
Very nice boots, I want kangaroo boots just to say I have some lol Yeah what he said is a fact jack and i aint talkin bout roo lol there are not only mesquite trees but vines with thorns that grow into these big balls that just scrape the shit out of you. Need some good thick leather for it
I've only been there once and it was to visit the Los Altos factory. Their boots are pretty sweet and the Cuadra factory is down there too. I need to spend more time there to give a better recommendation but those two spots were really cool
I like the US made Tony Lamas better than Tecovas but Tecovas is better than Mexican made Tony Lamas. Most of the time, the US made Tonys have a hard leather insole and the Tecovas have a soft leather insole. Depends on what you're looking for!

Folks have been using kangaroo for decades! But I agree. Seems like every year there's a new exotic leather boot from an animal we've rarely heard about before haha
I saw that one too haha! Ladies can totally like square toe! My wife doesn't usually like my square toe boots but my Stetson Lizard square toe boots are her favorite. It's funny
