Then you need to listen to more music. There are great songwriters and performers all over the country. This song is a bit of a dirge that goes nowhere. Exactly the kind of song he would have been slagging off a few years ago

But thats why I like his new stuff, different vibe to it.. this song has a feel good factor to it which I like... its poppy yes, but I don't see anything wrong with that.. personal tastes I guess.. But not all HFB stuff is like that... some is more reminiscent of Oasis days.. which I am more open to now.. Just like he has become more open minded with his approach to song writing.

The drums have such a crisp sound, Chris Sharrock is just sublime. Saw NGHFB at a gig recently and couldn't take my eyes off him, just absolutely spot on.

I can’t WAIT to hear “Going Nowhere”’from Later With Jools Holland probably filmed the same day or week as this session. I really hope BBC2 upload it today too 🙏 First time it’s ever been played live with an orchestra and filmed. Wow the band and Noel sound amazing. What a great chemistry. Council Skies sounds absolutely massive. Stunning version ❤

@@XoXo475 I've always loved Going Nowhere ever since buying the single upon release. It's a massively underrated song in my opinion. Another one that doesn't get enough love - Who put the weight of the world on my shoulders. Great song.

I was so excited to see this song live for the first time... I'm addicted to this song. Noel is so professional, he makes everything seem so simple... the entire orchestra and musicians behind this song are incredible, I always loved the choirs and violins in this song, live it sounds incredible. What a way to evolve as a musician Noel, grateful to have been born in a time where your music exists.

I was in London when Council Sky was released, being from sunny Los Angeles - the London weather/ and the architecture enhanced the emotions in this song and suddenly - ALL his music had a new interpretation - going forward I will listen with a new vision. Cheers Noel

This is a massive and beautiful endeavor; it feels like Noel finally wrote the album he should have. It took time and life, and having never been invested in the crap I nevertheless appreciate and love the 90s years of my 20s and the wave of the invasion. This is what Noel was practicing for all this time, it feels like. Amazing and beautiful.

He gets better with aged. So refined with his songwriting now. Very happy for him and his brother and how they're still around today making music regardless if they don't get on with one another. Council Skies is sounding so good so far!
