Nokta Legend Erratic Behavior and POSSIBLE Solution
The issue with the Nokta Legend erratic behavior is the Update Tool includes a 5 year old version of the Silicon Labs CP210x USB to UART Bridge VCP Driver and it needs to have the latest Windows driver install on your Windows PC before you perform an update.

This is a manual install process.
How to update to a new Windows driver
Windows 10 Instructions:
1. Click the download LINK above, download the newest version of the driver "CP210x Universal Windows Driver" V11.3.0 6/24/2023
2. Extract the ZIP folder anywhere you like.
3. Open Windows file explorer.
4. Go to the folder where you extracted the driver package to
5. Click “view” at the top of the folder menu bar, click “options” at the end of the ribbon.
6. Select “change folder and search options”, click the “view tab” on top tabs.
7. The folder options window will now appear below on the VIEW tab.
8. Uncheck “display the full path in the title bar”, uncheck “hide extensions for known file types”, check off “show hidden files folders, and drives” click the ok button
9. While inside the folder where you extracted the driver files to, Right click on the “silabser.inf” file then select install from the menu and follow the instructions. You should get a message that the driver installed successfully.
10. Reboot the Windows PC, log in and run the Legend Update tool again. You can now update to any version of the Legend firmware, 1.09, 1.10, 1.11 etc. without fear of using the wrong driver.
11. Make sure to factory reset your device after you update the Legend.
12. Go test the machine and come back and tell me if it worked, and the erratic behavior is gone.
Windows 11 Instructions:
1. Click the download LINK above, download the newest version of the driver "CP210x Universal Windows Driver" V11.3.0 6/24/2023
2. Extract the ZIP folder anywhere you like.
3. Open Windows file explorer.
4. Go to the folder where you extracted the driver package to
5. Click “View” in top tool bar ribbon
6. Click “Show” at the bottom. A side Ribbon panel will extend out
7. Check Mark/Select “File name extension” & “Hidden Items” (You may need to repeat steps 5 & 6 to select both “File name extension” than “Hidden Items” one at a time)
8. While inside the folder where you extracted the driver to, Right click on the “silabser.inf” file then select install from the menu and follow the instructions. You should get a message that the driver installed successfully.
9. Reboot the Windows PC, log in and run the Legend Update tool again. You can now update to any version of the Legend firmware, 1.09, 1.10, 1.11 etc. without fear of using the wrong driver.
10. Make sure to factory reset your device after you update the Legend.
11. Go test the machine and come back and tell me if it worked, and the erratic behavior is gone.
