I like that this machine has the iron audio, you don't have to reject or notch out the iron to distinguish it when digging. Your video shows how it works. When yo ran iron across the unit it had a much lower sounding ring to it. Also This machine's VDI jumps around with trash but bangs solid on good items most of the time also giving you a pretty good clue. As with any detector if the hole has more than one target rusty nail and gold ring that can change everything.
Simplex = Simply Complex ;) Great video. Have had mine for about a week and have spent a few hours everyday since. I love it so far as my first detector
Impressive first look. I’ll be looking forward to the follow up testing especially detection depth in our georgia dirt. Thanks for producing another great video!
Hi my friend from Greeksite of island Cyprus.i am your follower.Great videos thanks.look for more than 4 years I am hunting with my minelab safari.Last Monday I bought The siblex with the new version 2.78.Is really AMAZING.The reason is you have an extra depth (you will not needed,)You have another park mode that is really very fast and acurate,And the special thing that I notice is that...when hits bottle cups the nrs and tones become crazy.change to low end to high.really believe me.i hunting in very trushy mountain and beach areas.this feature will help you...this way i thimk Deus only have this feature.Best regards my friend..My minelab is resting now...sorry for my English...
Cool video , I have had a few Bounty Hunters, they were all good machines . I would buy a new machine and then sell my old machine on EBAY . I now use a Minelab Excalibur 2 , in water , dry sand and dirt . So far it is the best machine I ever owned. Watching some of your videos now , very good. Mike Espo .
I bought one a month ago, overall it's a fantastic detector but one complaint about it is those rusty bottle caps, when they are in the ground they ring up solid in the 90s without jumping around like they do on air test, also general bottle caps ring up solid at a steady number too. I have my sensitivity at max so I don't know if that's the cause of it or if it's because of what mode I have it in, I generally use field mode. I will have to bury a rusty bottle cap and test with the sensitivity down and see if it makes a difference and try the other modes.
Yep, I've noticed that it likes bottle caps in the dirt too. To me, it seems like park mode tones give a little more hint when a cap is under the coil. Field mode seems a little more "raspy" sounding and makes it difficult for me to distinguish. Thanks for watching and HH! Dewayne
Very good review of the operation of the Detector. I have both the Equinox 600 and the Simplex+. The Simplex+ is a close match to the Equinox. Equinox has maybe a half inch depth advantage and maybe a little faster recovery. For the money it performs close to some $1,000.00 machines.
Thanks Ronald! I've only put about 6 or 7 hours on mine so far.. Mostly piddling around out in my own yard. But from what I've seen so far, I agree 100%. This detector is very close in performance to the higher priced units. It definitely offers a lot of bang for the buck. Thanks for watching and HH! Dewayne
Thanks for the decent test, especially on the gold rings as I'm currently on a 1oz gold and diamond ring recovery for a friend and it's good to see what kind of tone and numbers they ring up on this machine since that's what I'm using.
Thanks for watching Stu. Keep in mind the size of the target will effect the target ID aswell. So that big ol 1 oz ring will probably read a little higher than the smaller rings shown here. Good luck with the recovery! Dewayne
That’s a great video DeWayne, very well done as has become the expectation!😀 That machine will be just about impossible to beat if it finds ANYTHING...it has SO many features it’s ridiculous at that price. I can’t wait til you take it out in the real world, and by “the real world” I mean the honey hole....just to see what happens. And it’s really cold here so could you hurry up?😎
Thanks Kevin! Just from what I’ve seen in my back yard this thing is very impressive.. especially for the price. Performance similar to the Nox running a single frequency. Looking forward to putting it through the paces at some hard hunted sites! I’ve sort of been “cut off” from the honey hole but I’ve got some other spots in mind.
That’s really impressive in its price range. I can see that being a real handy one to have around for friends or for a back up. You gonna do a depth video?
Hey Ben! It’s sure is. Heck I wouldn’t feel outgunned using this detector as my primary. From what I’ve seen in my test bed it’s very close to my other detectors in depth and recovery speed on most targets. I’ll probably do a comparison video at some point. Still in the learning stages for now.
Really helped me out! I swore that first gold ring was gonna go off the chart and yet it only hit around 10-15..WOW! Fooled me! Had a Garrett AT Pro a few years ago but said heck with it. So much trash and beer cans around here, but I'll try again.
Thanks James! I agree, from what I've seen so far it is an outstanding machine for a very good price. Yep, silver does seem to hit a notch higher. Of course, the soil and depth will most likely effect those numbers too.
i kept waiting for the wooden nickel, nice video. i am thinking about getting into the hobby, and think this will be a great unit to start with, i was looking at some Garrett units. but for the price think i will start with this one, the 3 and 4 hundred dollars units are not water proof, and not back lit like the simplex. Thanks for the video
Hey thanks Okie. I think the Simplex is a great choice. I’ve owned an ATPro too and I prefer the Simplex. Comparable depth, fast recovery, both waterproof, better display (IMHO) and iron volume that you can actually control. Not to mention much cheaper. HH Dewayne
Great video introduction to this machine. I just purchased an Ace 300 to start but I live near the beach in Daytona and want to be able to go into the wet sand. I've heard that this machine is a bit complicated to ground balance between wet and dry sand but have heard mixed reviews on the subject I would like to pick up one of these if it's not too stressful to operate. Thanks for posting.
I bought one when it came out. Sold it for several reasons. But the main reason the tones sounded so harsh to my ears. I have a high freq loss in my right ear and a little bit in my left hear. So it might sound ok to people with normal hearing. It does seem like a lot of bang for the buck.
Great video.Think one will be used on our channel asap😀👍 and I can go back were we cut firewood and look for my lost wedding ring. Also I'm thinking when we detect an old mining camp with lots of nails in the ground maybe walk by 10 or lower # s ? Thank you subbed.
Great video! It is clear to me that trash and precious metals have a lot of overlay in there tones and VDI numbers. The only thing you can safely notch out is iron i guess? Does anyone have experience with this? Kind regards 👍
Thanks! Yes, there’s always some overlap with good targets and some junk targets, but a lot of times you can still get a good idea based off of tone nuance.
@@MetalDetectingNWGA thank you for the confirmation. I’m just beginning with the hobby, so I guess i still have to learn the nuances for some time 😂 Thanks again and greetings from the Netherlands 🙏🏼
Hi Bernard. I would think you'd need a detector which runs at a higher frequency for prospecting. Higher frequency machines will hit tiny low conductors (ie nuggets) harder.
You can discriminate out most iron targets. Like most other detectors, you'll still get some iron falsing into the higher numbers occasionally. Rings can ready all over the place depending on composition and size. Most gold rings should fall into that range though.
Hey Steve, it does get fooled by steel bottle caps sometimes due to them being round, but other than that its pretty easy tell iron from good targets. Only large or round iron items tend to read higher than expected. Its reaction to iron is comparable to the Equinox and XP Deus.
