Huge sounding mix! Congrats for the work and the great song. I have only one thing to point out; to my ears, the main vocals and mainly the supporting vocals sounded buried in the final mix. Maybe it's a matter of taste, but I'd raise about 1dB on all vocal tracks. I listen to ADTR and this sounds pretty much like them, and I think this would make the song/mix/concept even closer to their kinda sound. Again, huge sounding project! Such an inspiration! Congratulations, man!
@@devinmichaelroberts9954 13 people would unfortunately disagree. If you watch yt on a browser you can get plugins that allow you to view dislikes. In my case I have a "special" version of the yt app.
Thanks for the tips. I was surprised at how wide those EQ cuts were on the fab filter. I feel like the stock eq would be more noticeable but fab seems a little more subtle.
Question: If the vocals weren't distorted/overdriven to begin with, would you have opted to saturate them in the mixing process? Did the existing vocals limit you from using a saturation plugin?
Just curious, when tracking vocals what do you like to do to make sure a take is in tune? Just use your ear? I’ve been using variaudio in Cubase but it’s extremely time consuming and tedious
4:15 when he says "attack and release on full" what does he mean exactly? The fastest possible attack and release or the slowest possible attack and release?
@@Milverstein You're kidding right? lol That's not Spencer. You can hear the guy singing with an English accent in the verse and Periphery doesn't sound like that band. Also Nolly kept referring to the guy as "Robin."
@@MrOzzy15 I did hear him refer to him as Robin but he also mentions Spencer in the video as well. Idk I just heard something different than an English
I love these videos, so I don't really like bitching, but please make it so when you play the track its not 10 times louder than when you talk. That would be very nice. Thank you, and keep doing what you do :)
