To clarify, the "Diamond is Unbreakable" in the title meant that the video was only showing clips from Part 4: Diamond is Unbreakable. Incidentally, that's one of the more 'normal' Parts of the series. I mean, it's pretty weird, especially compared to a normal anime, but not "15 year old who is a direct allegory for Jesus Christ and could potentially be half-vampire uses the physical manifestation of his soul to turn his teeth into jellyfish so he can chug a cup of piss as to be admitted into the mafia" levels, whereas that's honestly one of the least bizarre moments in Part 5: Golden Wind. There's currently 9 parts, 8 of which have been completed and 6 of which have been animated.
@@wonderofu230alot of people haven't read the manga it took me 2 years to start reading jojolion so don't be surprised that he doesn't know others and part 6 can only be watched on Netflix
@@wonderofu230 I didn't want to spoil *any* manga only moments, and part 6 is bizarre in a way that any isolated moment doesn't necessarily seem bizarre without the context surrounding it. Also, we want him to think the show is quirky, not non-sensical. Sure, I could say (PART 8 END SPOILERS) An amnesic sailor that is a fusion of two people, one of whom is an alternate universe version of the main villain of another part, and has 4 testicles uses a robot ghost to shoot bubbles at the idea of fate (who is the soul of an 89 year old rock man) until it dies because the bubbles use an upgraded version of a universal rule that was used by a paraplegic cowboy to break through a barrier created by the president of the United States using the corpse of Jesus Christ. But *why* would I say that? Anyone can understand piss chugging, and perhaps use the provided information to come to a logical conclusion as to the reason, but the aforementioned string of words is so meaningless that it would fundamentally fail to draw anyone in as a byproduct of its esoteric qualities. Ergo, the logic your comment provided was fundamentally flawed.
@@basementthing1862 To be fair, I think most people who actively watch videos like this have probably read the manga anyway. You have to be prett~~~y into JoJo to actively look for people reacting to out of context clips of it.
@@newgoog9423 that's a good point for most anime but JoJo's probably has the most dedicated anime only viewers I've seen other than one piece Naruto and dragon ball JoJo's has a ludicrous amount of adamant anime only people
@@MattablesIt's Viz Media, so they do care a lot, but plenty of people have also done the show fine. It's nothing crazy like Toei Animation or Viacoms copyright though
@@MattablesI'd recommend checking out how AliciaXLife edited her Jojo videos for an idea on how to edit them, because it went pretty smoothly for her.
Jojo does actually make some sense when watched normally. However, I'd say 'makes sense' is a term that should be used loosely in this instance. Jojo conditions you to accept increasingly bizarre concepts that LITERALLY in any other kind of show wouldn't work. I've found myself calling BS for stuff in other anime, and Jojo is out here throwing curveballs at every opportunity, leaving me going 'yup. Seems legit'. Then at some point I stop and realise exactly how off in the deep end I am.... and it only intensifies the further you get into the story. It's both kinda sus, flamboyant, over the top but both funny and taking itself seriously. It'll have you in tears one minute and laughing the next. Though, I think some other comments have mentioned it: there's a good deal of body horror and gore in the series, the clips that you have seen are censored. A lot of people don't realise how brutal it is because 'haha funny memes' and it can be a bit of a shock.
In Russia, Jo-Jo is so popular that at some point local magicians decided to parody her. But as usually happens in Russia, everyone liked the parody and one manga after another began to appear. Different parts are not connected with each other, they take place in different decades, the names of the stands are the names of popular songs in those years. Dio became Dmitry and he was not a villain, rather an anti-hero. His "evil spirit" is American Boy (popular song in 1991) and it works differently than the original (control of shadows and light).
Ngl, a Russian Dio with an American themed stand whose powers are a direct callout to how our government claims to be righteous but also allows/sanctions some shady shit, especially during the Cold War, goes hard as fuck with all the potential layers in this 1 character, and I kinda want to read this parody you speak of now.
Bobobo has nothing to do with Jojo. While Bobobo is a bunch of jokes and randomness glued together Jojo is a battle manga/anime that has strange but charismatic characters. I'm a fan of both and I can see why someone could think they are similar due to clips without context but Jojo is unironically a serious show with funny, sad, tense and most of all bizarre moments.
JJBA is my favorite anime and I love seeing react to it! That being said, while it can be weird and full of memes, it’s not actually a comedy; rather, it’s what it says in the title, a “Bizarre Adventure” and can get very serious and surprisingly gory, with one of, if not THE MOST interesting power systems in all of anime. Parts 1-2, all of which is covered in the first season, can be controversial for some due to growing pains, plotting, and dated campiness, but they set the stage for Part 3 onward which grow in quality and complexity. Without spoilers, Part 7 (which is not animated yet) is my favorite Part and is widely considered a masterpiece. It is when the story goes full mature and for adults, but JoJo’s has always been slightly more mature than it’s contemporaries. It is also a meta and reference filled media empire all its own! I’d avoid spoilers but just know that it doesn’t end at the anime and manga, but encompasses irl escape rooms, prolific museums, art books, novels, spin off manga, fan works, and so much more!
JoJo's randomness is extremely funny, but don't think it'll JUST be a goofy show, as it's also a genuine monument of Manga History, that inspired a lot of mangakas. JoJo had its own exhibit in the Louvre, Araki the author designed stuff for Gucci, ... it's amazing to me how dumb it looks from the outside, and how it's actually considered one of the few best mangas as a work of art. The Manga defined many mangas that didn't manage to be as good, and also managed to reinvent itself. 8 TIMES, now, because the manga is cut in "parts", with completely different stories. the "Diamond is Unbreakable" in the Title is the name of the 4th part, so don't be surprised to not see a single character from this video when you start. 9th part just began serialization this year, after Part 8 concluded in 2021 after about 10 years of publication (the longest part). Also, if you do watch JJBA, please use fan-made subtitles. Because like 99% of the names in the manga are Musical references, and the official localization changes them to other stuff, and it's both sad and really annoying.
The scene where the gun comes out from a piece of paper was the first thing I've seen from this show and I knew I had to watch it. Funnily enough, it's the only "out of context" thing that actully is LESS funny in context because there are some tells beforehand, but otherwise this show has amazing sense of humor. In part Looney Tunes (there is a scene where a character eats a bomb and his stomach blows up) in part Death Note-like 4D chess mind games, it's a blast with only a few weak points. Although considering it's been going for decades, I should mention that it doesn't really start like this and has to find its footing from a more grounded arc first (which, to be fair, if you don't know how the show starts is only going to surprise you more)
It's nothing like Bobobo-bobobobo. The biggest problem with a lot of Jojo fans is they always try to pretend the show is only memes and get a kick out of the confusion people get from out of context clips. And then there's always that one idiot who has to add his obligatory 'even with context it doesn't make sense' comment, which isn't true at all. It actually has an interesting story and characters. In the first few parts of the series, the villains and plot are mostly based off of classic horror but the author adds his own flavor and humor to the mix, and then he eventually branches out into other genres in later sections but still consistently keeps the gore, sometimes in places you might not expect.
JoJo's copyright is enforced by Viz media, and they are little bit copyright strict, but honestly not as bad as a lot of shows. If you do the series, look at how other tubers have edited it down.
timed reactions work great! where you post only your reaction with the timestamp of the episode, then the viewers use their own version to sync up. its 100% copyright free since the actual show is never posted on your screen.
fun fact: each season are different parts with varying locations powers and even main characters. there are 6 animated parts at the moment. you only saw 1 part.
The Crazy Diamond parts will always be in my head. Avoid reading below if you haven't watched part 4.. idk how old the video is yet until I actually look but Crazy Diamond's ability is to heal, and I mean completely heal, anything it punches.
When i saw your outtro and saw the dio stomping the dog scene, i was so disappointed to see that you hadnt actually done any Jojo content. Please tell me more is coming.
Jojo is very easy to react to, but you do have to put some kind of overlay on top of the footage and occasionally cut out the audio. It's not the worst, though, just keep subtitles on and you're good
The fact that you know and enjoyed Bobo Bobo Bo Bobo makes me REALLY happy. I thought that ultimate random WTF anime was unknown outside of Japan. Oh man, if you like Bo Bobo, you are gonna LOVE JoJo.
Answering all of Mattables' questions week 11 part A. (Surprise, I'm in the comments of a non-dbza video now): 1. Diamond is Unbreakable is the title for part 4 of Jojo's. 2. Yep, there's a popular meme that dogs in Jojo's are going to be in for physical abuse. Sadly so far the meme is also true (could change, I haven't seen all of part 6 yet and part 7+8 will probably be made into an anime someday). 3. Josuke the protagonist of part 4 (with the fancy hair) has an ability to summon a creature (stand) that can reverse something back to a previous state so the women that look like they're being brutalized are actually just being reverted. 4. I have heard of the many Bos show and Jojo's does have a lot of weird things that are odder out of context, but they make complete sense watching in context. 5. It will probably still be hilarious in context. 6. I don't remember exactly with the baby because there's a lot of baby moments that come to mind but either the baby was innocent and was saved or was a villain turned baby and got anihilated. 7. Joseph's powers do not involve hands. 8. I've said this in a lot of other comments but definitely don't do episode reactions of official animes. Not copyright friendly and a huge hassel. 9. The show is one of battle with ancient powers. The biggest one being stands, creatures with various powers hinted at in part 2 and introduced in part 3, that have various abilities. The kid's face is paper due to the stand of Kishibe Rohan, my favorite part 4 character. The pen was not in Josuke's possession of his own fruition. 10. Jojo's is infamous for it's poses.
PLEASE REACT to all of the JoJo openings (with all the different versions of the them) available on RU-vid! After that. Please enjoy the show itself! Jojo is a truly strange and absurd show
Jojo reactions are definitely possible on yt, but as usual you need to be damn careful with copyright At most 10 minutes from each episode is a guideline ive heard thrown about, but there are other options too.
If you're going to be reacting to out of context clips, please react to the English translation, as it is much easier to listen to. However, there are no official English translation for the music in this anime, so it's fine if you react to the Japanese versions.
>telling someone to watch the jojo dub frankly I think the dub only become decent at part 3, but even then the japanese VA's are so fucking good I simply can't recommend watching it in english, missing out on Japanese DIO, Joseph Joestar (old and young), and Jotaro is like a crime
@@thesyndrome43 🤓🤓🤓First of all, no one asked if you would recommend it. Your opinion is literally not needed here. If you disagree with me, just say it. Just say that the English Jojo dub is bad. Oh wait, you can't, the only thing you could say is that it's not Japanese enough for you. I want him to react to the English dub because it's easier to understand, not because it sounds 5% worse than the Japanese dubs. I think the dub was always good. Especially if you compare it to other anime dubs, Jojo has one of the best ones. On top of that, everyone is praising the English Josuke dub. I've seen some of the Japanese Jojo, and it's definitely overrated by Japanese nerds like you. Also, there was no need to shorten my comment with the ">telling someone to watch the jojo dub" it just comes off as rude. Ps: How many body pillows do you have?
I’ve seen plenty of people do Jojo’s on RU-vid. If you lower the opacity of the show and edit down the videos so it isn’t the entire episode playing non-stop you should be fine.
Dont worry this show still doesnt make sense even with the context its best described by these famous words of JonTron; "I get it...i dont get it.." Im being serious as well most of the plot just feels like the creator was drugged..
