@@drepdrained For anyone reading and are curious but don't wanna search it up, the outros go like this: Parts 1 and 2: Roundabout was released in 1971, Phantom Blood was released in 1987. Part 3: Walk Like An Egyptian was released in 1986, and Last Train Home released in 1987. Stardust Crusaders started in 1989. Part 4: I Want You was released in 1996, whereas Diamond is Unbreakable started in 1992 and ended in 1995. (JoJo came first) Part 5: Freek'n You came out in June, 1995. Vento Aureo came out in December, 1995. (the music came first) Modern Crusaders came out in the year 2000, after part 5 ended in 1999. (JoJo came first) Part 6: (Not mentioning Roundabout, because obviously, but) Distant Dreamer came out in 2008, and Stone Ocean started in 1999. (JoJo came first)
12:46 To clear up some minor confusion Luckyland communications is the personal manga studio company of the creator JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure where JJBA is worked on in house. So mainly it’s referenced in the show as a fun homage to the creators. 19:47 Edit: so the cards are depictions of the Tarot, I’m not gonna explain the significance since that would be spoilers but figured I should also clear that up.
Not about Jojo, but the second to last ED (Distant Dreamer) hit pretty hard when I realised that I knew that voice. For context, the singer, Duffy, has had a pretty rough time of things. She grew up only a few miles away from where I live and we all watched her rise to fame on Britain's got Talent. Such a distinctive voice. It was a bit of a shock because I realised I hadn't heard that voice in YEARS. Really fitting for that part of the story too.
As a fan of the series, you analyzing that much isn't a bother but something flattering. Also It really makes it feel like you're having a good time and not just wanting to get this over with lol
It's right. That is, what would be the point of seeing a reaction if we only saw someone looking at the screen without giving an opinion or comment on what they are seeing?
JoJo is that anime where you probably should watch in sub, not just because of the lack of quality the dub has but there are so, so, so many iconic moments you will miss out if you watch in dub. But whatever is comfortable for you!
@@muntaacas6358 yeah its one of the rare anime where the dub is actually not just tolerable but actually really impressive, you can tell the voice actors really enjoyed doing thier jobs. that being said the original japanese voice acting is miraculously still even more impressive, like you can tell they REALLY enjoyed doing their job. and ig that makes sense when they get scripts that tell them to make the sound of ferocious cherry licking, or talk like you have a hole in your tounge that is telekinetically pulling you directly into an unflushed toilet, or an old cyborg man who just died and turned into a magic space manipulating turtle.
When you watch the show, there are 2 versions. The original broadcast version censors out a lot of the gore, and the uncensored version was originally released on blu ray. Some streaming sites use the censored versions and others don't, and it's not really consistent Netflix has parts 1, 2, and 6 uncensored. For parts 3-5, there's no real consistency with what site has which version, but it's pretty obvious which version a site has within the first few episodes. If there's an unnatural black "shadow" covering what should be gore, it's probably censored
@@robertmauck4975Japan has extremely strict laws regarding smoking being shown in media. I don't know how strict it is since Jotaro does smoke in the original manga but it's not allowed to be glorified at least.
Lucky Land Communications is Araki's (the author) personal manga studio, that's why you saw it all the time, also I love how you said you can't be that far off on the Oingo Boingo **brothers** ending themes but you WERE very far off LMAO
13:32 that outro actually has really big spoilers of the end of that part 3, that are hidden incredibly well and can only be found out if you have finished the part
Don't ever worry about pausing. Your genuine excitement to go along with your analysis is awesome. Every time you say "this is sick", as a long time JoJo fan i feel like a proud father in some weird way LMFAO. I had to subscribe, great video
The ‘cards’ are called “tarot cards” and are actually fortune telling cards that can be used to tell someones future, personality etc. These tarot cards are mostly used in part 3 as a way to name stands and their personalities.
I AM SO HAPPY YOU DID ALL THE ENDINGS!! AND YOUR PROBABLY THE FIRST ONE TO REACT TO THE NEWEST ONE! that ending basically made almost all the jojo fans tear up like crazy.... you'll get it once you watch hahaha I love how you noticed things I never even noticed myself hahaha! once again, you guessed most things right! and for the cards that you see in the third ending are tarot cards, basically all the stand names in part 3 are based on those cards and for parts 4-9 the stand names are based on bands I believe... ill let the rest of the jojo fans that will come here later explain the rest lol hopefully i didnt spoil anything! ALSO, RAISE YOUR HAND IF YOURE AN OCTOBER BABYYY!!! 🙋♀🤚
i belive that the characters, or at least imitators, do actually sing the oingo boingo and the oingo hol horse endings, which is why they are some of the most under rated ones for a show that uses primarily american music
Don't worry about being wrong when you're guessing and theorizing with JoJo. It's a natural part of watching JoJo! Literally the most common state of mind is "What is this?! What tf is going on?! How is this happening?!", and that's part of the show's "bizarre" vibe it has!
Dude, when it comes to you talking about it... personally i don't mind whether it's a correct guess, you have a lot of interesting insights and you genuinely analyse details about what you're watching, compared to so many others. keep up the amazing reactions my guy
just to answer some questions that don't spoil anything about the show: the cards are tarot cards used in real life for fortune telling, Lucky Land is the name of Araki (the author)'s company, and the animators like to add small easter eggs referring to this all over the anime. you are also noticing many small easter eggs that people don't see even if they watch them every episode. also, feel free to watch the dub I have wanted an excuse to rewatch the series in dub after watching it like 4 times in sub
howd you actually guess world war 2 for context, the first two, which are the same song, endings are for part one and part two, both of which were part of the same aired season
@@MIZZKIE Also: -Notices the WWII-era bomber silhouettes in the background. -Doesn't notice _the freaking SS officer in full uniform_ in the foreground.
Normally I don't prefer opening reactions with midway pauses, but between this and the JoJo openings, seeing you try to Sherlock Holmes your way through each detail was a blast. 😁 I don't know if this would help out with video editing but if you wanna catch up quick, you could binge Phantom Blood (Part 1) and do a super cut reaction to that. Or make a 2 parter. It's only 8 episodes I believe. You'll really like the series if you enjoy making predictions especially part 3 and onwards. A lot of what makes JoJo great is how unapologetic it is and despite how action packed it may appear, most of the fun comes from the mysteries and emotions.
I personally love that you stop to react, and not just cuz you guess stuff! So many people who react either don’t react at all and do the bare minimum wows and woahs, but some folks who do actually react will get caught up in their thoughts and miss scenes while they talk I love that you feel the need to pause and think - my fiancée does the same thing and it’s the funniest shit when she pauses and there’s silence while she tries to figure out what she just saw lmaooo Keep being awesome dude!
It’s generally recommended that the Subbed version is seen first, not because the dub is bad, it’s actually pretty damn good, but more because there’s a lot of really iconic moments and character quirks in japanese, so it’s much better for the first time experience.
The whole card things in the 3rd outro is because all of the stands / Weird pokémon people are named after Tariot cards eg: The main guys stand is "Star Platinum" and is named after the Tariot card "The Star" This is explained further in depth in the show, so watch it please :)
When I first saw the one with the beach and the ocean I almost cried. If you read the manga seeing ocean waves together with this song is already enough.
If you like the characters singing their own opening/ending then you might enjoy the monogatari openings, almost every opening is performed by the Voice actor of the character the arc is focused on It's another somewhat longer series comprising of: bakemonogatari, kizumonogatari (kizu is a set of 3 movies), nisemonogatari, nekomonogatari kuro, nekomonogatari shiro, monogatari series second season, hanamonogatari, tsukimonogatari, owarimonogatari, koyomimonogatari, owarimonogatari season 2, and zoku owarimonogatari
In regards to your question of if you should watch the sub or dub, I would *heavily* recommend the sub. The dub is fine, but most of the super iconic moments in the show work *significantly* better with the subs.
Top notch reaction again :) tyvm To be fair these outros are very cryptic for the unknowing eye. You hadnt realy a chance but still gave your best gessing. I like the dub. It is almost as good as the original minus small iconic english lines of the original japanese VAs.
I've discovered your channel because of your JoJo reactions, so I'm glad that you'll react to the series. Looking forward to your reaction to the series! This will be a great journey and you won't regret it 👌
Endings songs are picked by the author. Those were the songs the author was listening at the time when he draw the parts (starting from 1980's). Minus the 2 special joke endings
I'm so glad ppl have been explaining this. I got the general idea that it's a song from the time period each part takes place. But I remember hearing Freakin' You on the radio when it came out, and it was SO weird to hear it in the show lol.
A lot of people like the sub because it's a first watch for many and it's very nostalgic.. and like most animes the japanese actors sell the overacting yelling more. though a lot of the most iconic line reads are japanese people struggling to dramatically yell english words, soo those exact iconic moments don't hit in the dub because the english actor can say the words just fine.. people love "ZA WORUDO" because it's a very odd and overacted way of yelling "the world" in english homeboy just yells "the world" because he's english, and the character is english, soo he's played with an english accent. Fights and screams come out more punchy in the japanese A lot of people like the Dub because the cast is stellar and it feels natural, most of the story arcs involve english speaking characters and settings (ffs part 6 takes place in florida) and like a lot of anime with well received dubs the english actors sell the more somber emotional tones better, it's very easy to resonate subtle emotions in the language you speak. dialog and dramatic moments come out more believable in the english.
Stumbled across your channel and saw the jojo intro react, I love your style, I love all the pausing and breaking stuff down, it makes me so happy to see people not only react but analysis it I'll def be watching your reactions to the show and other reaction vids of yours
I highly agree that you should view two episodes at once especially when you reach the second season aka part 3 since the battles are typically divided into two episodes... also luckyland is the name of Araki the authors personal studio.. and finally the creepy drawn endings are for episodes involving the Oingo Boingo brothers, one who can write manga that predicts the future
When you begin watching Jojo, try to find the uncensored/blue-ray version. The censored version has a very annoying black shadow that goes over gore and smoking (for some reason), so just watch out for that.
Bro watch the sub about 30 to 40 percent of the comedy in this show is the random english words the characters say while they're talking in japanesse it's so damn funny
if you do plan to watch the series I would recommend watching the Every musical references in JoJo's bizarre adventure by Hamon beat after each part. it primary goes through every musical reference in each part and is divide specifically by part it does occasionally part 4 specially talks a bit about part 5 but by then you'll already have started it so you should be good. hamon beat doesn't just stick to the anime though he does it also go through the references in the manga which are often not referenced in the anime itself. he does also do manga and anime differences for each part as well.
I like how you started saying that the outros must hide something in a screen that, people who understand, see that it shows how many people survive in that part
The endings do actually have variations, with the first two showing the important characters of the episode it's been played in and sometimes changing the song to another version of "roundabout". In the 7th and 9th ending once a new character/stand gets introduced, it gets added along with the others to the ending. So I recommend you to not skip the endings.
I would say the pattern in the first one does tell info about a certain thing, but it's pretty hard to piece it together if you don't know what it's talking about and what is depicted
I don't know about the community as a whole, but I personally found the dub to be really great! Nothing can beat the original, but the English VA's did a really good job none the less. Love these reactions!
Oh and I’m not sure if this has been said already, but in the first two outros it is about the Aztecs, and then it goes more into Egypt on the third one.
33:15 OMG I'm so glad you caught that I swear I always thought I was the only one seeing that The first 2 were same song different parts outro Some outros change but only in details so they would add something over time ex 2nd outro was not the original to part 2 Please do not watch in dub you won't get any of the memes or the same feeling If you want you can try 1 sec of every episode (the original not the updated) And I suggest patreon but RU-vid doesn't copyright to much with jojo content not that I've seen anyway and I've seen tons of reactions to this
the Oingo Boingo outros are extremely funny to me because the lyrics are literally explaining their abilities in 100% detail but he can't understand Japanese so it's just completely lost on him
I am absolutely going to watch your journey during the show. It’s definitely a wild ride but once you look back at the first full picture you get it all makes sense
Something to know about Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure is that it’s divided into parts. And each part is wildly different. Phantom Blood Battle Tendency Stardust Crusaders Diamond is Unbreakable Golden Wind (Also know as Vento Aureo) Stone Ocean Steel Ball Run Jojolion Jojolands So far only the first 6 parts have been animated.
Please, for the love of god, go with the sub! The way characters talk, how they sound, the engrish and the battlecries are iconic. You'd be losing a lot of Jojo's charm and bizarreness by going dub.
I'm sure someone's bought it up before, but just in case, JoJo constantly references music through character and Stand names. So, depending on if you watch the official sub, they often change names to avoid copyright. So, while the subtitles might say a character is named Santviento, you'll hear the Japanese VA's say Santana, the character's actual name. Santana is a reference to the Musician Carlos Santana.
its actually okay we actually love when someone analyze or breakdown it its more entertaining rather than just react and just yeah yeah wow great wow and then thats it you can pause as much as you want
When it comes to watching the show the choice is yours. But keep in mind that while the timer synced version is safer by far, it can be very difficult to impossible for anyone watching on mobile to actually get it working
luckyland is the araki's manga studio. all the references are just neat little nods, and you can even see the luckyland logo on jotaro's hat (the hand)
So about those cards that confused you in the 3rd outro, their all Tarot cards, whoch the characters powers are named after Edit: HIS REACTIONS TO THE OINGO BOINGO BROTHERS ENDING HELLLLLPPPPPPP BAHAHAHAHA
oh btw most anime use original songs that were written for it, these endings are actually real songs that were famous like when our parents were young haha
oingo boingo endings STILL give me nightmares 😂😂. Now I REALLY want you to do a show reaction lmao (gives me another reason to rewatch the show 🤷🏽♀️) The person who recommended binging Part 1 and then editing it has the right idea! But whatever pacing works for you 🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾
Kinda late, just want to mention this. The reason for one of the songs in part 3, specifically "last train home" is so chill compared to the original ones before and even after is because it was a big close of a part of the series, im not going to mention more because spoilers. Kind of the same reason why the last two are different, the lyrics of dreamer for example make a lot of sense when you watch part 6 especially with the whole sunset and the ocean, and the last one is basically a big compilation of all the best moments of the whole anime, using the most popular song from the series.
PLEASE watch this show. Part 1 is probably the worst but its still amazing. Btw the main character changes every season/part. The main character switches to another member in the joestar family.
I would say the sub is the best way to watch, I think the english dub is OK (though I do HATE some of the casting for certain characters in the dub, including one of my favourite characters) but the sub has INCREDIBLE voice acting, and there are some moments that are lost in translation where the characters in the japanese version do speak english for some lines, and it's great every time
