This song... everytime. Whichever way you view it; either as a metaphor or as a retelling of the story - it's just so sad. But it really does show how diverse they are musically.

If I discovered their Dark 'n Wild or O!RUL82? era, I would have looked into them anyways XD Some of their most political songs are also within the earlier albums. Though they were more blatant, you could tell that they knew their general concept early on, to stand for the youth.

Love this song and love how excited you are sharing your love for it and for BTS with your friend! My daughter shared this with me last year. Once I saw the lyrics I couldn’t stop crying. She did an aerial performance to a piano version of it and it was so beautiful and sad. Made me love this song even more.

the song is about a man who was ugly and hid himself behind a mask one day he saw a beautiful woman stealing on of his flowers and he was angry so he put on his mask to follow this woman he found out she was poor and she stole the flower to sell it so he decided to plant more of the flowers so the woman can come back and sell them she came every day and he started to fall in love in love with the woman he wanted to show himself to her but one day she did not come he put his mask on to go find her he found out she died and he was sad that he never got to tell her how he felt

Thank you for sharing as always. I find this song absolutely heartbreaking too and love your friend's response. His musical taste may be similar to mine - rock, and some pop ... Hearing your summary of BTS' work, it seems to me that underlying the whole arc of their writing is a process of repeatedly questioning - who am I? what am I? How can I be me in this world? how can I make my life real? how can I make relationships so that I am not so alone? Their earliest work may be about demanding the space to be themselves (learn who they are) and their later work may focus on our relationship with the world as it depends on our relationship with ourselves, but there's an ongoing thread of introspection and self-challenging. Since I have my own history of depression and MH problems, as well as a LOT of counselling training and 10 years working as a volunteer counsellor, this interests me deeply, even more so because BTS' very heavy schedule could make it easy to focus only on surface matters - which they could do and still produce good KPop. I would be uninterested in that, but so what. We hear a lot about RM's high IQ, but I'm inclined to think that all the members have intelligent, sensitive and enquiring minds that we have not been giving them credit for. The fact that more songs on MoTS 7 are written by members now suggests that they are coming into themselves ... almost like they are coming 'out'. It will be interesting to see what comes. A few words for you about our times... I hope you and the family are coping with whatever level of isolation you now have to impose. Home schooling may leave you better prepared to occupy your children than many parents, but it may also mean that you have used outings and meet-ups on a more routine basis than some parents. If so then I imagine you're just as taxed as other parents by being able to leave home for only very limited purposes. and if your husband is not usually working from home but now has to, perhaps there's a further level of stress you don't need. I'm confident you'll all cope OK, but keep well, keep safe, and keep in touch with your loved ones. I like that this image has what I thought were wine glasses, but they are actually lilies. I liked the wine glasses LOL!

Yep so it was based off the Italian folk lore. Don't remember what it was called. But here is a quick summary. A man lives alone in his mansion and never goes into town cause he's so hideous (physically). So he stays in his house and tends to his garden. One day a young poor woman sneaks into his garden and steals his flowers to sell. At first he is angry, and tries to catch her, however as he watches her, he slowly falls in love with her. So he decides to create a one of a kind flower for her to sell. He wants to help her. This is the smeraldo flower. However she never showed up again. He waited and waited and slowly realised something was wrong. So he wore a paper bag over his head and headed into town to find her. However she was dead. He realised that he shouldn't have been so scared to approach her, cause of his hideous face. If only he loved himself, so that he had courage to pursue her. 💜

I really really hope you ended up explaining the story behind the song. It's very emotional story and inspiring song. It would be a shame he heard the song but understood nothing of it😥
