It's OK to watch Necrit for introduction in Runeterra's lore, but keep in mind that some older videos are mostly or even fully outdated, because lore updates and modernising very often. And another thing to keep in mind, that Necrit is just a human from outside of Riot, and most of the info is based on his experience and theories, so sometimes or I would say often he is mistaken.

Firstly I just want to say I love your reactions and I am so excited to see your future reactions! At some point in this video you apologised for pausing, but I personally love when reactors pauses and talks about what they think, since that's kind of the point of reactions. Anyways this youtuber you just watched called Necrit is definitely the biggest face in League Of Legends Lore, and he's been doing videos about it for years. His content is also cleaner and better nowadays then in the video you reacted to which is from 5 years ago, and about 1 year ago he did 5 videos about the world of Runeterra to create hype for the mmo (even though the mmo won't be out until we're all in elderly homes). Those videos are amazing and talk a lot about the world, and are in my opinion the by far best videos to learn the lore, and big reactors like Asmongold have watched them and loved them. Though fair warning those videos range from 20 minutes to an hour, so they can be a bit lengthy. Anyways I hope you keep reacting to league related stuff and keep up the good work!

You should definitively go check the League's Cinematics (every of them, specially the music videos, all of them except for a couple ones (the Imagine Dragons collab ones) are copyright free, Jinx has its own song called Get Jinxed, and Ekko has a band which is called True Damage) There are a lot of compilations of every league cinematic untill now And maybe if you'd like, check out the Characters Interactions (Voice-lines in-game) Hope to keep seeing you reacting to any league stuff! EDIT: Important Fact you gotta take in mind, RIOT recently changed the way lore works, basically due multi-universes existing to explain multiple non-related scenarios and some other anomalies on lore, and now changed some stories and stuff to create a UNIQUE AND UNIFIED UNIVERSE, which is the Arcane Universe, so RIOT basically is fitting the whole universe arround the Arcane story and recent cinematics, which are 100% Cannon from this year and on (there are not THAT MANY changes made but there are some for sure to the story to keep it consistent, but most of the story did not required a change to co-exist in the known Arcane lore, and the skins are alternative universes that do exists but that multiverse for skins are going to remain the same, alternative universes/stories)

It's a theory that The End Of Reality = The Watchers = The Void Rifts = Voidlings = Any living creature tainted by The Void = Fast growing/mutation + healing + purple = Shimmer of Arcane Remember Singed talking about his pet Lizard Rio being a RARE creature he found? Rio the lizard is most likely a voidling of some kind, and people of Zaun are drinking void juice, which is why they heal faster, and get super speed. It's even a better guess since... Remember that rat in ARC EP 1 that killed a cat? We have a champion in LoL called Twitch, and guess what he has purple/pink eyes matching Shimmer, and yep he lives in Zaun. Necrit is probably the number 1 League lore person, there are others but I feel that he just tell it in such good ways, he might also the biggest but I do not know as I don't really watch any others. Also love how you react its a really good watch and you said you liked his accent so felt like I could tell you he's from the Czech Republic. Hope you watch more of his stuff and learn about the lore.

And yes Riot Games has League of Legends book, Ruination book, Garen First Shield novela and three comics Zed, Ashe and Lux Comics that you could buy. In physical form or e-book. And on Riot Forge site is Katarina comic and Song of Nunu comic which are Prequel to the Games Mageseeker and Song of Nunu.

Fun reaction. Keep watching Necrit's videos they're always fun. One thing though: the generated video captions that you are watching are not accurate and very misleading. For example: the people at the top of mount Targon are.. targonians.. not dragonians and the "crown" they offered sol was a crown... not a "ground" etc... So just be mindful so that you are not distracted and given false information. Trust in your ears when listening to necrit and only toggle the generated captions when you absolutely coudlnt hear anything.

Great video! I think the natural next step is reacting to all of the League of Legends cinematics. There, are a lot, so I don't expect to see them all in one video, but I believe that you would really enjoy them, and learn a lot from watching.

You have to remember that Piltover, which includes the Undercity which would later become Zaun, is completely against magic. That's why Jayce got into so much trouble with the council. It wasn't until Jayce and Viktor perfected Hextech that the city started embracing it as a source of energy, like we use electricity. They still don't trust raw magic. That's why you don't see more of it. Then, thanks to Silco, Zaun embraces something called Chemtech, which uses Shimmer as its power source, rather than magic.

Remember: Piltover (& Zaun) were created to "escape the warmongering of mages" so, of course, there weren't a lot of magicy stuff happening in Arcane. This is a detail many seem to forget. In Arcane is also when Piltover first started using magic but through science, so this is when hextech slowly started becoming a thing. There are mages in Piltover & Zaun (a few of them are champions), but I think they are either rare there or they are very good at hiding. But now that hextech is accepted, I imagine mages would be accepted as well. Nah, Jinx is just mentally unwell. The magic crystals in Arcane are not World Runes. They were just magical crystals. World Runes are different.

Almost everything related to League of Legends is actually really good. The problems that arise stem from the community that plays the main game. There are some good eggs in the bunch, but it's swarming with toxicity. Everything other than that should be great though lol

Now that everything is unified with Arcane at the center, a few champions and stories are now out of date, such as Blitzcrank's, Warwick's, probably Camille's, etc. It'll take a few years before everything finally falls into place.

5:43 The arcane runes and world runes are very different though. There're 5-6 world runes, each possessing tremendous power. You can see 4 iirc in the Call of Power cinematic where we see Ryze travel the world, looking for a world rune.

You mentioned wondering if there are books and there is one! It's called ruination and its absolutely fantastic. It also has an audiobook variant where all the characters are voiced by their official voice actors.

Necrit is great, dude is so good at the lore they made him canon in League, he has a character in one of the offshoot stories, Ruined King. Check out his vid on the MMO story being mostly written already, itll give a big overview of the world.

When necrit talks about "vastaya" are the human sized animal people (like the bat guy that was with ekko) and "yordles" are the little creatures like heimerdinger or this acuatic yordle 7:05

They have a lot of short stories on the universe webpage, it would be cool to see you exploring the interactive runeterra map. If you love reading that webpage has a lot of entertaining lore, some stories are not even connected to a specific champion, but tell a historical event, like "Where Icathia once stood". Also there's a lightnovel called First Shield that is on demacia, a lot of comics for different champions, some comics were in collab with marvel. There's a book called ruination, really good, tells you the lore of the shadow isles before they fell, when they were the blessed isles. It was written by Anthony Reynolds, the one you mention at 10:48 that wrote some warhammer stuff. He also wrote some short stories on the league universe page. 11:05 Shimmer is a new addition to the lore that came from arcane, there was little mentions of shimmer before arcane, but Zaun chemtech was mainly green before Arcane. Some of the theories say that the purple flowers Singed uses to make shimmer in arcane, are void corrupted flowers, that's why the hexcore became very voidlike after viktor used shimmer. League's lore has their specific color themes associated with stuff, green is chemtech, red is bloodmagic, blue is arcane magic, and purple, is associated to the void. 19:45 the rune wars, this is what heimerdinger remembers in his flashbacks, also the Ruination book tells how they started. That's why heimer fears the rune matrix

If you want a physical book there are "Ruination" and "Realms of Runeterra"

Think of Arcane like the tip of the iceberg that is League of legends lore as a whole. They can make 10 more shows with how much they got going in there (sadly riot doesn't really make an effort to make it more coherent, they got a lot of plot holes and nonsense as well). Arcane is also more like an alternative universe so characters don't really match their champion counterparts in lore and story. Himerdinger is the one who strays the most since his champion self is all about using magic tech and obsessed with it just like Jayce.

Well if you want ANYTHING about LoL that isnt gameplay but Lore -> Necrit. He has litteraly a cameo in the "Ruined King" Game as the librarian of the Shadow Isles. He IS the Lore archive.

I think riot doesn't release cannon books because they tend to redcon lore and rework champions and backstories. So it can be very overwhelming for new fans and players

My guess is Noxus (where Mel Madarda was from) which was teased in Arcane season 1, will be more central in season 2. Season 3 I'm guessing we will leave Piltover and Zaun entirely and the focus will be Noxus and Ionia. But only time will tell ofc.

They have book that has illustrations and stories its a pretty thick book but i think they discontinued it, i cant buy it because i am just a student at that time XD it was like 7$ and last time i checked the price is doubled. Welll about JInx... No, she is crazy cause she is crazy. She have very unstable childhood with traumas that break her and turn into what u seen well in Arcane. However there is a theory that she is being watched and maybe sligtly manipulated by either Swain (Grand General of Noxus and host of demon Raum), or one of the strongest demons in the universe - Fiddlestick, Primordial Fear. Both of them can control crows, and crows follows Jinx around Arcane quite alot.

You put too much stock in Arcane ... the characters in there are so tiny they're largely irrelevant. Jinx is literally the second weakest champion in the entire roster (by lore, not gameplay), and every other character in Arcane are also down there. With the possible exception of Heimerdinger ... dude is a yordle, so if he wanted to he could wipe out the entire city on his own.
