As someone who works in the school system, the reason that there is less science and social studies standards is because teachers run out of time. Our students are at such a range of levels for reading and math that meeting all their needs in those subjects takes up most of the school day✏️
In my opinion, (not that you asked but wanted to support and interact with your content) the standards move extremely fast. Just because we “can” push children to meet these ELA and Math standards Sooner doesn’t mean we need to or should.
✏️ Great video! My 9 year old has Duolingo for Japanese & is really enjoying it! She’s only been doing it for a couple weeks so we’ll see if anything sticks but she’s having fun with it!
Do you think starting Dimensions 2A in 3rd grade would be good? My learner currently uses Math With Confidence Grade 2 and they have a pilot program with the 3rd grade but he’s really loving math and I’ve been wanting to look more into Dimensions for next year. Thank you!
I would really love that curriculum. I just saw a science curriculum from a well respected source talking about "junk food," while promoting thinking scientifically and without bias. How can you possibly promote scientific, unbiased thinking when you are ascribing biased language and unscientific terms?
The first couple years were ROUGH and I will never lie about that. Trust me, I still grit my teeth plenty of times. Self regulation is the only thing that gets me through😅✏️🖤
Love Duolingo for kids! My oldest son (8) is learning German and my second (6) son is learning English (were from the Netherlands) and they both like it! Japanese sounds interesting too!!
Another Secular homeschooling mom she uses Timberdoddle Non-Religious kits. The math 🧮 is ridiculous from the school system these days. Crazy thing I have seen is pushing ingters in 3RD math 🧮 Linear Equations pushed in 5th grade. It is insane. 😢

A secular homeschooling mom in Florida she has done it! It is going very well! She started Secular homeschooling group as well! Her & other moms started it! They have homeschooling high school graduation proms, dances youth groups when ur girls older, they can join 4H cover buds it is free & no reglion in 4H at all! No animal required to join either! There is spelling bees geography bees, u can start up one for January, SEA it is secular homeschooling maginze. They have activities as well, YMCA u can get a scholarship they offer homeschooling gym art, some states allow homeschoolers to be in sports, sometimes band, electives,
