“If you took all the money you spent on horses, I bet you could buy a house.” I bought a house with some land so I COULD buy two horses lol! Awesome video!
@Charlotte dreamborn how did it hurt you? i’m just saying that people who have never/barely ridden horses who pretend they are experts doubt the people who have ridden their whole lives
Yes! Also This seems to be common to all sports. Kind of silly since even at an Olympic level athletes of all kinds still take lessons and have coaches
@@CreatureDiscoveries.western is more fancy ig your disciplines in English can be jumping, dressage, mounted games, etc and western you might feel a lil more secure because the saddle is deeper and bigger some of the disciplines for western is team roping, reining, barrel racing, sometimes mounted games, etc have a professional trainer or rider explain more
I don't normally laugh and its really hard to get me to laugh, but on the one when she said dressage. I cracked up!!! She said drissege lol!!! I don't personally own a horse but I get lessons + work at the barn. Also volunteer at a horse shelter, but don't mind doing chores or mucking at all, it's actually fun, lol.
It’s funny like drissege lol I laughed to I work at a barn part time at a training facility but I also have my own horses and take project ponies for clients to work with them and sell them
@@Layla_Krauss oh that's so cool, I would love to get a horse in the future. Like years and year's from now, lol. Cause I have no income and I can't legally drive😂
My moms friend’s kid was exactly like this. She literally said “I know a lot about horses. I watched spirit” and then proceeded to tell me a bunch of untrue facts and pretend like she knew anything about horses. She sat on a horse once. One. Time.
non rider: "Do I have to do this? I really just wanted to ride" Me: "Well I'm sorry, but..IF U WANNA RIDE U GOTTA WORK FOR IT WOMAN" Riding horses isn't all rainbows and butterflies, it's pain, struggle, work and sometimes tears. You have to be willing to put work into owning or taking lessons on horses, you have to groom them, feed them, lunge them, ride them, wash them. But the best part about it is that you have found a best friend for life. Never give up on your horse just because nothings going your way, try something new, you will both learn new skills along the way.
Someone once told me horseback riding was so easy. They have literally NEVER been on a horse. I hate it when people actually do that, but I am laughing so hard rn because your impression is perfect! 😆
i just came back from my first horse lesson about an hour ago, i'm hoping to get up to the point where i can do show jumping.. it's just my dream to be on the back of a horse.. first, they started off with leading, and it was in the blazing hot sun so there was a clear shadow of me on the ground when i walked with the horse on the other end of the lead in my hand. i looked down at the shadow and saw a beautiful picture.. me with a horse close by my side.. it made me smile. but then i got on its back, and it hit me... i was meant to be on the back of a horse. it felt amazing... it felt right. some people are nervous to be on a horse for the first time that is 16+ hands tall (mine was right at my height, which is nearly 5'7"), but.. me? nah.. i wasn't nervous, or thinking about falling.. i was thinking about flying. flying over the hurdles right there in that saddle. i wanted to push for a trot, but i could only walk for now.. it may take years for me to get off the ground, but someday, i will come to the point where i will be flying on the back of a beautiful horse..
Well good luck! I just started lessons this year the only advice I can really give is when things get tough don’t beat yourself up about to much because one day your gonna have a break through where you just get it, and it’s one of the best feelings in the world when you can finally do it (what ever that thing maybe) best of luck on your journey! 😊
I love riding horses and there will be some bumps, let me tell you. Some say that you aren't a real rider until you fall, which can be true or not, depending on how good you really are before you fall. All I can tell you is that it's not as easy as it looks, but you'll go through lots of emotions. It's the best to have your own special feeling while on a horse.
I've been riding for 5 years english saddle. Still have been cantering in a circle...I need to get my own horse so...you know...I can actually get somewhere
Ive been a showjumper for some time now and it all very hard there is alot to remember and it can stress you out and it very dangerous one time i was jumping and my horse tripped and i lost my reins and my stirups and she took off at a full gallop and i fell off in the gravel driveway and she drug me across it after that i was pretty scared go jump but it feels so good to jump and clear the hurtle that i couldn't quit and i just wanna say its worth it...its worth it when you get here!
"When do you get to actually ride?" I ask myself that often... The one with the "you still take lessons? I thought you knew how to ride" I've had thrown at me several times. 🤦♂️
Lol this cracks me up horses are so much work that by the time u get to ride ur muscles are asking to much lol! It’s called working for ur dream!😂 Love this vid😍
YES. that happend to me two years back and one, probably the "horse girl" of the group, was like, sO yeAh arE thEse MUStanGs? Can mY liTtlE siSteR RIdE SOmetiME, and (lol) STopBLinDfolDIng yoUr HOrsE, thAT iS so meAn!!!
Fun fact : Spirit The horse in the famous horse cartoon is actually a so called “Kiger Mustang” As mustangs can be any colour but, Kiger Mustangs look exactly like Spirit you wouldn’t tell the difference!
I am currently a non rider but I hope to be taking my first lesson by the end of the month. I am grateful for these videos because now I will not ask any stupid questions during my first encounter with a horse.
i cringed so hard and why is this so true , ahhhhhh i cant but there are people that are patient but we wre all the before we became proper equestrians ( i mean begginers not like that im sure) LOL love ur vids
I've always been a huge nerd about horses (( not being an actual equestrian )) and this is EXACTLY what I DON'T want to be. I'm starting lessons soon at nice stables and I really, REALLY hope I'm not agitating. One of my biggest fears. :,D
@@bookobsessedfae9329 I did but it was by choice because I think I stink. Like I didn't think that when riding, but as soon as I got in the car I started to look forward to a shower.
Seriously.... Who are these people who give a thumbs down... Didn't your Mama ever give you huggs growing up? Geeze... ;) These video are just so funny!
This really hit home 😅🤣🤣😅😅😂 “you take lessons? I thought our told be you were good..” “drissige” “if I rode I’d be a natural “ I so badly wanted just to yell at her at the top of my lungs, that’s how you know your a good actor!
@Aubree The Horse Lover- Yep, and for that work, you get to groom the horse. Next time, maybe you can ride BAREBACK with me leading the horse and you just sitting there. If you are still willing to work that hard, then I will allow you to ride after you can sit a trot bareback without holding onto the reins. Those were my rules decades ago, when I had teenage girls come to me wanting to ride. It worked. The ones who really wanted to learn and loved just being around the horses, earned the right to ride. The ones who didn't, found something else to do with their time. It was a good way to help parents figure out whether their daughters were really interested in it or not without any cost to themselves. It helped me with the chores and having a riding partner when training my horses.
@@alycewich4472 I wish I had friends with horses. The stables I've been getting lessons at for the past 5 years don't teach me anything. I canter in a circle for 40 minutes for 100$ a day...for 5 years. I haven't galloped or jumped well...ever. Hopefull ill be able to get my own horse soon once we move out of my crappy house. That way ill actually be able to learn something and not pay people a pretty penny to teach me to canter and trot every day.
