#smashultimate #trailer #reaction As Few of you Suggested We are Going to Be Checking Out ALL The Smash Bros Ultimate Character Reveal trailer Hope You Enjoy!!
Fun fact: for the Min Min trailer, they got Captain Falcon's voice actor back to record the noodle-slurping - the first time he's recorded new audio for Captain Falcon since 2001!
I know Sora and Steve were hype and all, but hot dang Sephiroth’s trailer was GOD TEIR. He showed up without an invitation, killed galleem in one hit, and nearly murdered Mario. And it had the best visuals by far, that gigaflare was GORGEOUS
Sora Sephiroth Joker Banjo Steve and Kazuya brought so much hype. Sora, being the last character they gave us in Smash Ultimate, was the cherry on top to end it.
Even though us Smash players can hate and get annoyed at some of the dlc characters online. We of course can't deny all of the hype and satisfaction we got from each of their trailers
Help this man he is CLUELESS. On the real tho, this was cool to see everything we're so familiar with through a newcomer and I really never did notice how hard they just bully Mewtwo in these.
Y’know, it’s kinda refreshing to see someone who knows almost absolutely nothing of these popular franchises (which is kinda hard to believe seeing you must AT LEAST have saw some stuff online, like what Smash gameplay actually looks like😂). In any case, it would be cool for you to react to trailers of the games represented in Smash, like Splatoon, Xenoblade Chronicles and ARMS, etc.
It's kind of ironic. He introduced his channel in the last video (Subspace Emissary) as being all about gaming, but he knew like five characters out of it. Not Zelda, Wario, Fox, Diddy, Samus, Olimar, etc. It's pretty funny. He even second guessed on who Kirby was and called Bowser "Browser".
The super smash bros reveals for wii U have some awesome trailers too. Introduces some other characters that were in these cinematics that you might not have known as well!
Makes me a bit sad that the characters introduced in the first three games never got the chance to have their own cool, cinematic reveal trailer. Well, I guess maybe except for Wario, Pit, Meta-Knight and ZS Samus, who were introduced in Brawl's reveal trailer.
@@Shritistrang Right? Imagine in a perfect world where Sakurai could spend as much money as he wanted; the trailers for characters like Ganon and Mr. Game and Watch in Melee or proper trailers for Sonic and Snake would be DOPE.
Think you should definitley watch the "Everyone is here" reveal trailer. As well as The world of light reveal trailer. Those are both bangers. And def look at the smash 4 character reveals too
Coming from someone who was experiencing these reveals as they happened, Steve and Sephiroth’s broke Twitter. Sora’s broke the internet. He was also the most requested fighter for the Smash games in America and Japan.
Smash Bros Ultimate is the 5th game in the series, so the trailers here are only the ones for characters new to this game. A lot of the characters you were asking if they had trailers were from older Smash games. Like Mewtwo first appeared in the 2nd one, Smash Melee, back on Gamecube. We didn't start getting big reveal trailers for specific characters till the 4th game in the series, with a couple exceptions in the 3rd one
@@Zodia195 at the time, it was Sonic. Sonic was at his absolute peak still and hadn't fell off yet, and seeing Mario and Sonic (who are basically gaming's biggest rivalry, let's be real) start boxing against each other literally shattered the entire gaming community's collective mind
@@Zodia195 it was the first time the smash site had ever went down before, and that was all the way back in 2007. imagine the collective hype around Sora, Sephiroth, Steve, and all the biggest reveals for Ultimate, but combined into one single wave, and that's what Sonic's reveal was for Brawl. pretty much every major gaming forum site slowed to a crawl or crashed completely. it was glorious.
The first character to be revealed (the purple flying space dragon) is Ridley, a villain from Metroid. His first appearance was all the way back in 1986 in Metroid for the NES. Since then he has appeared in almost all Metroid games, and had been the character requested for the longest time, all the way back from 2001 when Smash Bros Melee was released for the GameCube, and Ridley appeared fighting Samus in the game's intro. So he was finally revealed for Smash Bros Ultimate at E3 2018 and it was a massive deal since he wasn't in the Smash game before Ultimate because the creator Sakurai said he was "too big" for the game, and the memes about "Ridley's too big!" went all around the internet. So much so that they even referenced that in the reveal trailer saying "Ridley hits the 'Big' Time".
Peach CAN fight. She was first playable in Mario 2 on the NES, was a party member in Super Mario RPG, has her own DS game that's pretty fun where she actually rescues Mario for a change, became playable in Super Mario 3D Land on the 3DS, AND has been in Smash since Melee on the GameCube.
@@scottchaison1001 So was Link's Awakening, Kingdom Hearts Dream Drop Distance, Cyan's Nightmare Dungeon in FFVI, as well as Tidus and his Zanarkand from FFX. Your point? Also, how does that detract from her exploits in other games?
@@ElizaArtz doesnt need to be any proof most people knows how Disney operates Disney is verry strict about their IPs aswell as when it comes to buying IPs
@@KurayamiSaidai yet Nomura confirmed that they were 100% on board with no issues on their part, confirming any issues were on him. Also, proof is needed that Nintendo ever approached them about it before Sakurai had a chance encounter with a Disney rep; that was nothing but a rumor.
Poor Mewtwo gets jobbed a lot in the reveal trailers… primarily because he’s well-known for being a powerful character. So, to show off how impressive the new character is, they get shown humbling Mewtwo. In some circles, this is called the “Worf Effect.” Worf was the chief security officer on the Enterprise in Star Trek: The Next Generation. He’s the physically strongest person on the ship and the best fighter… and he gets his butt kicked every other week to make the antagonist of the week look like a real threat.
No seriously man I agree, you should play Smash because to put it simple to you, and I say this so many times but Super Smash Bros is the crossover of all crossovers 100%🫴🏼✊🏼😄
Sora showing up was the most emotional trailer since he was the most requested for years and once he showed up most people cried because he was finally in smash
Sora in Smash was huge because of it being Disney. Kingdom Hearts is a mix of Disney and Final Fantasy though, so Sora knows Cloud and Sephiroth eventually, etc. But keep on the KH grind, the story gets really good
Don't know if anyone's explained the characters and anything else important so here: The Squid People are called Inklings and are from the recent Nintendo game series called "Splatoon." The point of the game is that 2 teams of 4 have to cover the entire Arena with there teams colored paint before time runs out. That Pterodactyl monster thing from Brawls story mode is named "Ridley" and is a villian from the game series "Metroid" Luigi being that frightened/cowardly is canon. Simon and Richter are from the Game Series "Castlevania." Let me reiterate, THE GAME SERIES "Castlevania." NOT THE NETFLIX SHOW. King K. Rool is the villian from the "Donkey Kong Country" Series of games The Pokemon Series of Games are all owned by Nintendo...So, yeah. Isabelle is from the games "Animal Crossing: New Leaf" and "Animal Crossing: New Horizon" The glowing ball that Joker grabs is what allows the characters to do their "Fatalities" / "Finishers" Those other character's with "The Hero" are just different costumes for that fighter. Banjo & Kazooie are from the game series "Banjo-Kazooie" In the more recent Fire Emblem games, when you start a new game, you can choose to have the main character be either a boy or a girl. (Like in Pokemon) Alex, The Zombie, and The Enderman are just Costumes for Steve. Sephiroth is the villian from "Final Fantasy 7"
Now, Mewtwo may get pieced up a lot in these trailers, thought Mario, Luigi and Link get their butts handed to them pretty much any time they appear on a reveal trailer. Especially Mario. Mewtwo is the guy who gets bodied to show how cool the new guy is, like Piccolo, or Worf
Most pokemon inclusions within Smash trailers are used for cutesy moments, primarily with Pikachu, Pichu, and Squirtle. There are a few other odd inclusions, but in terms of strength within Pokemon's canon, Mewtwo is the strongest pokemon on the roster. Hence, it tended to draw the short stick when it came to a pokemon being used to upsell the strength of newcomers. Additionally, most Nintendo series that are represented within Smash tend to have "Hero" and "Villain" characters, when multiple representatives are present. Pokemon doesn't exactly have characters along those lines, per say, so Mewtwo was often used as the default villain pokemon instead. Rayquaza, unfortunately, isn't in the game, it only acted as a story boss in Brawl, but it hasn't been seen in or used by Smash since. All of the reveal trailers in this video were for characters that were added in Ultimate, mostly via DLC. Ultimate is the fifth and most current game in the series, so there are a few differences in the roster compared to Brawl. Mewtwo is one of these; it was first introduced into Smash in Melee, the second game, but it was removed for Brawl, before it was eventually reintroduced as a DLC character in Smash Bros Wii U, the fourth game. It was one of several characters to be removed at some point over Smash's history, and Ultimate's original selling point was that they reintroduced every character who had been playable at some point. I don't know the exact count, but there are around one hundred playable characters sourced from 35-40 different franchises present in Ultimate. If you want more Smash Bros content like this, I'd recommend "Smash Ultimate Everyone is Here" to see the entire returning cast, prior to the new additions from this video, and "Smash Ultimate World of Light Trailer", which previewed Ultimate's "Story mode".
People don't recommend them enough, but the character reveals for Super Smash Bros for the 3DS and Wii U were ALSO really good, you should check them out. There are a couple really good Pokemon reveals too, since that appears to be one of the few games you recognize characters from
While we’re on the topic of reacting to Smash Ultimate content, I HIGHLY recommend reacting to “All Palutena’s Guidance Secret Conversations” from Super Smash Bros Ultimate. Basically, there’s an Easter egg on one of the game’s maps where if you put in an input with a certain character, they will engage in a conversation with two other offscreen characters. These conversations regard the character you’re fighting and provide fighting tips, history about character, are loaded with humor, and every single character has a unique one. This would be the best way to not only learn more about Smash Bros, but also learn more about the characters you don’t know much about (which is a lot). Just make sure you’re watching the most up-to-date version from Smash Ultimate.
Glad you're playing P5R. Easily my favorite game ever. The story is so good! And you can buy back old Personas from the registry in the Velvet room. So you can get Arsene back!
Sponsored by Disney? ohohoho no no no my friend, Disney OWNS Kingdom Hearts, that is why, Sora joining was such a mind blowing thing, he dominated character request charts for AGES, and many thought it would never happen because of Disney's tight grip on their IP's, getting Sora to join was not easy, and I bet it wasn't cheap either, but Sakurai went the extra mile to give the fans what they wanted. Not everyone's top pick made it in, but being there for the smash reveals happen live was an experience like no other, one of the most hype things on the internet when they happened, it's something that you just have to experience as a community, I'm not sure there will ever be a new smash, I just don't see Sakurai having it in him after all the love and work he put into Ultimate, and without Sakurai, there is no smash, I hope that in the future, Ultimate just keeps getting ports, and maybe a new wave of DLC, I don't mind if it takes a loooong time due to the increasing ammount of work it takes to balance the game, just having a new wave of characters announced, knowing that character reveals would be a thing again, would make me so happy
Ryu: the humble Japanese fighter who had many crossovers with Marvel/Tekken/SNK/Tatsunoko and more Ken: the cocky Japanese American fighter Kazuya: the guy who wants to get revenge on his abusive father heihachi from the franchise Tekken and suffers from the Devil gene like his son Jin kazama Terry bogard: your typical American guy from Texas and from the franchise Fatal Fury and King of fighters made by SNK for Neo Geo console and Arcades also a rival to Capcom.hence why I love fighting games 😂😂😂😂 due to its fun to learn every characters moves.
It's important to know that these trailers had huge elements of surprise and ran the nintendo online community for YEARS. They would mostly premier live during event livestreams, so if they didn't have the smash opening animation, you wouldn't know what game it was for until the character was properly showcased.
I'm gonna tell you this about Sora's trailer. He was, since third party characters were announced in smash for the first time, the most requested character. In the Super Smash bros for 3DS and WiiU, they made a poll to vote for the final fighter of that time to join, that poll got Bayonetta in smash, but she was the easiest fighter to get, the winner of that poll was actually Sora with a huge difference, before his announcement, people were starting to lose hope of seeing him in smash, and that day, that October 5th of 2021, tears were shed around the world and many dreams came truth.
It's definitely interesting to see what trailers truly stand on their own when someone doesn't know anything about any of the gaming franchises represented. Most of these trailers made fans absolutely pop off and lose their shit, while you're busy wondering who these dudes are and why they all woke up that morning on a mission to beat Mewtwo's ass.
It's so much fun seeing this from the outside. Everyone went wild for most of these characters, and Don loses it over Mewtwo in K. Rool's trailer. I genuinely love this so much
Mewtwo's allowed to get his butt handed to him in these trailers because he already had his reveal ages ago. After one's revealed, they're fair game from the next character reveal and on.
How can a human know who Bayonetta is but not Sephiroth (one of the most iconic villains in gaming history), Banjo-Kazooie or Simon Belmont? Or Fire Emblem & Splatoon for that matter. Who recommends games to you? Those are icons of the gaming industry that created, revolutionized, & made genres like JRPGs popular worldwide.
Unless someone is actually into video games, they're probably not going to know who any characters are unless they're someone like Mario, Sonic, Pikachu, or Steve.
@@gamingartbeasts i am a VERY casual gamer, but even i know vaguely who most of the characters are. Even if i don't know the story of every game out there, i generally know what game the characters are in. Like in the brawl video, don didn't even know who Zelda was like 🥲
and shortly after that Miyamoto stated that Mario was no longer an Italian Plumber and Bowser only ever had the one kid. to which i'll add they still aint said who his mama is, Miyamoto just cant help leaving plotholes these days.

At 10:03 my hair stood up. I know that you havent played the games but DON'T talk bad about the poppy girl. Isabelle only deserves love and to be feared
Glad you are enjoying the Smash Ultimate trailers Don. I highly encourage giving Smash Ultimate a try. Its an amazing game whether you wanna play alone and do the World of Light story mode that is actually a sequel to Subspace Emissary from Brawl that you watched in your last video when i briefly touched on Galeem and Dharkon or you can play with friends or your viewers. You can do 1v1s, 4 player smash, and 8 player smash! I'd be more than happy to play with you man! My fav reveal trailers for Ultimate was Sora and Joker glad they have my two favorite rpgs in smash now. And if you want to get into other fighting games as a whole, I'd be happy to assist there as well. I've been in many tournaments for blazblue, smash, and tekken. Also yes in P5R you can buy back old Personas from the registry in the Velvet Room so you can get Arsene back especially given a few story reasons near endgame that I'll keep a secret for now. I really want you to experience that for yourself. But i will say that there is a part of the game you won't have access to if you don't use the other parts of the main story to your advantage to access it. Time management and your social links are key. I'm sure you'll see it when it shows itself. If not, I'll explain more later but since you are only at Kamoshida the two people I'm talking about you won't run into until you take him down. Also as far as the whole Kazuya demon thing. Tekken has a special power called the devil gene. All Mishimas have it starting with Kazumi Mishima then her son Kazuya and then Kazuya's son Jin Kazama. The devil gene allows the Mishimas to turn until full devils for some very punishing attacks and new upgrades like those lasers you saw. Also also you played Kingdom Hearts but never finished it?! The games are super good i platinumed all of them and have been recently playing thru them again. Definitely revisit and finish it highly encourage it! I wish you good luck fam and down to assist in any way possible! (Sidenote: Mewtwo is one of the strongest in Smash and the reason he's getting beat up alot he was the OG Smash newcomer back in Smash Melee so he's been in Smash the longest as far as Pokemon reps goes along with Pikachu and Pichu & Rayquaza was strictly a boss fight for the story mode in Brawl nothing more)
My first thought on the mention of Castlevania was "How do you know Dracula and Alucard from Castlevania, but not Simon Belmont (or, to a lesser extent, Richter)?" But then you mentioned the (Netflix) series and I guess that explains that.
I'm not sure if they told you this but mewtwo returned to the series in smash bros. For 3ds and wii u, so if you wanna see him kick ass, look at the trailer!
The Banjo reveal very nearly made me cry. I was so beyond happy. Also: If you want a Smash Bros trailer where Mewtwo gets to be cool, check out the Project M Mewtwo trailer.
I'm also baffled, but in hindsight, all you have to do is not know. So, not look for it, not be particularly interested, and have different tastes. I love his noticing of Mewtwo's predicament though. 😂
Blind reactions are good for a lot of things, but less so for this. This isn't just some standalone experience. It's a culmination of history that, without knowing, will not produce the same profound effects as it will with those deeply ingratiated in the culture. This wasn't just "cool cinematics and characters" it was our history, memories, culture, hopes, dreams and collective experience. We wept tears of joy as a sea of gratitude poured from our hearts for everything made possible. The levels of emotion were palpable. It was a massive celebration for us gamers. The meaning behind these characters, who we've went on countless journies with, the soundtracks, which crystalized the emotions and memories of these stories in our hearts, the unprecedented scope of this collaborative project, and the sheer amount of love between gamers and the developer Masahiro Sakurai. This was his love letter to us and all those who helped build this world of video games we all love and enjoy. And we were right there with him, celebrating everything as a community.
There is so much missed context in this compilation. Sometimes it has to do with when the reveal was shown. It could have been in a Nintendo Direct where the trailer hides it's a Smash trailer and sometimes its in a Smash Direct where they instead hide what character is added. Joker was actually announced during the Game Awards which surprised everyone because no one expected a Smash announcement there. also there was a whole smash direct where they showed all the characters from previous games in the franchise which is why they don't appear here. You basically just see the "new" characters.
Damn bruh, I remember everyone being pissed when Byleth was announced for Smash because they were another Fire Emblem representative but I was hyped because Byleth was from the only Fire Emblem game I played 😭
These trailers are for all of the characters that were newly added to Ultimate. The game already blew everyone's mind by bringing back every single one of the *over 60* fighters from the prior games (see "Everyone Is Here!") So each one that got added was an extra treat on top. And then we get to the DLC of the game... where shit goes off the rails; from Joker onwards, almost every reveal (minus the existing nintendo IPs) felt monumental in the crossover partnerships.
As for these trailers, here's some fun facts: - Inkling: The area they're in is a reference to the first scene we see in Splatoon's initial announcement trailer. - Ridley: Did you know the Metroid series were inspired by the Alien movies (directed by _Ridley_ Scott)? It's likely why Samus is accompanied by both Mario and Mega Man - a human and a robot. - Simon & Richter: This would be the first time we see Luigi's new Poltergust G-00, which would properly debut in Luigi's Mansion 3 - almost 15 months after this trailer, and 11 after Ultimate's release. - Isabelle: She was talking about the mayor being busy with the campsite and Smash - referring to not just Smash Bros., but also the mobile game Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp. - Joker: He was actually first revealed in another video at The Game Awards 2018 - literally the day before Ultimate released. What you saw here is a proper gameplay trailer. - Hero: All those fighters that the Heroes were facing are actually puppet fighters, copies of the fighters controlled by the two antagonists of the Adventure Mode, "World of Light". - Banjo & Kazooie: They're actually owned by Rare, who also made the Donkey Kong Country series that gave us the popular identity of the ape we know of today. - Terry: All the characters seen are SNK fighting game characters. Terry Bogard himself is as iconic to SNK as Ryu is to Capcom's fighting game lineup. -> (the hand of) Kyo Kusanagi (The King of Fighters) -> Ryo Sakazaki (Art of Fighting) -> Andy Bogard and Joe Higashi (Fatal Fury) -> Geese Howard (Fatal Fury) -> Nakoruru (Samurai Shodown) -> Iori Yagami (The King of Fighters) - Byleth: The male and female versions (you choose one when you start a new game in Three Houses) actually have slightly different names in Japanese (Bereto and Beresu). That's why female Byleth has her own tagline. - Min Min: This is the first time since the first game that Ryo Horikawa was brought in to voice Captain Falcon again. Yes, even the lines for his Final Smash were recorded all the way back then, because Final Smashes were a concept all the way from the start. (Spring Man, the blue-haired combatant, was already in the game as an Assist Trophy. I feel like this is a small part of why he wasn't chosen as a DLC fighter.) - Sephiroth: A lot of elements from the movie Advent Children are referenced here - the music "Advent: One-Winged Angel", Cloud's AC costume, the way Sephiroth swirls the dark clouds above, the way Mario is "impaled" (which is closer to the Advent Children Complete version), Cloud's new Omnislash ver. 5 animation, "Stay where you belong, in my memories." "I will never be a memory.", right up to the way Sephiroth wraps himself in his wing (as he prepares his Final Smash here; that's what the rainbow aura means). (Also, his Masamune sword is actually a nodachi, not a katana. Yeah, Japanese swords are classified by size.) - Pyra & Mythra: Shulk is referring to their encounter in the Land of Challenge, a DLC area in Xenoblade Chronicles 2 where he and Fiora appear as guest "Blades" (as well as Elma from Xenoblade X). (Yeah, Pyra and Mythra are Blades, artificial lifeforms that weave ether and support human partners (Drivers) like Rex here. Them swapping between each other is a trait unique to themselves - Pyra is kind of a clone that Mythra created, and they project from the same Core Crystal.) - Kazuya: Tossing defeated opponents over cliffs is...kind of a Mishima tradition at this point. The Devil Gene (that makes Kazuya transform for certain moves) is also kind of a Mishima inheritance. - Sora: The shape of Kingdom Key's keychain pendant is known as a "Hidden Mickey", as the shape is often hidden in various Disney properties (whether they be movies or theme parks). While Smash apparently wasn't allowed to show Disney-cinema characters like Donald or Goofy, the Hidden Mickey at least is fair game.
Yeah basically every “recent/modern” fire emblem game has had character creation options, some just being female or male option, some including like hair style and colour and stuff like that.
1:08 this moment right here is legendary Subspace emissary was only for smash bros brawl and in this smash games theres returning characters from every game snd nee characters
Byleth, along with several other characters, isthe player character in their original game, hence why they have both male and female versions to play as in Smash.
I think you are a bit confused on the games. The story cinematic you watched in the other video is Super Smash Bros Brawl for the Wii. and these are reveal trailers fore Super Smash Bros Ultimate for the Switch and the most current game of the series.
If you want a full list of all the Smash characters, aside from these extra ones. There is a trailer called “Everyone is Here!”. Unfortunately no Rayquaza. He was just a boss in the Brawl Story Mode.
Super interesting to watch someone go into Smash pretty much totally blind and slowly work out what the game is about and how it works, but honestly wasn't expecting it to take him to 22:32 to realize "Ohhh, it's a crossover!" lmao
In the second super smash bros game on the gamecube Super smash bros melee, Princess Peach was introduced in the game and was one of the strongest characters in melee. Also she has saved Mario and that in her ds game which is fun called Super Princess Peach, playable in Mario Rpg, she does have a lot of powers throughout different games but mainly in Mario games when she gets rescued she hardly uses her powers, if she did Mario wouldn't be needed
So the very first one you watched, needs context to understand. The trailer was basically almost 1 for 1, with the trailer for Splatoon, which is where those characters are from. It looked like it was going to be a Splatoon trailer, making a reference to the very first one for that game, but then the screen got all dark. NO ONE knew it was a Smash trailer, until the point when the logo showed up in the character's eye. Also it's good to know that 95% of the characters were already in the previous games. This is the 6th Smash game. People like to call it Smash 5, but it's actually 6. Sakurai, the guy that pretty much runs everything to do with the games, has stated that he sees the WiiU and 3ds Smash games, as separate entries. Fans just like to not listen. But yea, most of the characters were in previous games. The only new ones, are the ones that are specifically featured in a single trailer. Such as the first one, introducing that the Inklings from Splatoon will be in this one, as well as like, Sephiroth, Sora, and so on.
The best thing is the first trailer was a trailer after splatoon, and we had no real idea that smash was happening on the switch, plus we didnt know what version of link, what characters, so we were so hype with speculation
In the ken and incineroar trailer at the end, that was bowser jr not a small "browser" lol (his name is bowser btw, you called him browser in the smash bros brawl cinematics as well and I was fuming 😂)
@@teenshallot1189 he at least new a small handful, even if being a little painful he doesn't know them not everyone has to know everything even when coming to video games
I'm gonna try to explain this in a frame of reference you'll get: You know how every Unown shape functions the same way? Steve/Alex/Zombie/Enderman are the same thing too, and so are boy/girl Byleth.
You’d be surprised at how many smash characters you said might be bad are really good. One of the best smash players uses Jigglypuff, and I know a lot of people good at King K Rool and Isabelle. Peach is great too. I played her in smash brawl Also I can’t believe you don’t know what duck hunt is! That was the dog and bird you saw on 21:09 impersonating banjo and kazooie
