In short, this armor is worn for days, weeks, even years at a time. It can be easily removed but it weighs three to five hundred pounds, depending on whom you speak to.

Be careful what you wish for. In the rulebook for the daemons a few editions ago, there was a lore snippet about a planetary governor who said the sex demons sounded fun and he'd like it if they showed up to his next party. And they did! About 100,000 of them. There were no survivors.

The "weird skinny people" around him are techpriests and servitors. Techpriest is a member of cult mechanicum (the only people who know anything substantial about technology in warhammer 40k - those are a sect with strict rules and HARSH punishments for braking said rulez). Usually mechanicaly augumented human in partial power armour with mechadendrides (roboarms similar to those of doctor octopus from spider-man). And almost always in red robe with a hoodie and veird staff, wich serves as extremely pontent melee weapon (power axe). Servitor is technology used in imperium to get similar outcomes as with simple AI, but witouth need of said AI (That is one of biggest TABOO, because one of two reasons why unified humanity failed was a widespread AI rebelion against the human kind (full of attrocities against defencless civilian, who were supposed to be defended by said rebelling AI). Servitor is basicaly mindscrubed human (or tankbred/clone) psychicaly and usually physicaly shackled to some simple task (like for example the one withouth legs, connected on the arm, serving as velder, for last velds of the armour. The baby-angels, those were probably servitors too (belive called seraphims?) Their task is to acompany VIPs, luminate their path and carry the light, carry the reproductors to blast the preyers on the enemies. and with sharpen claws attack enemies of said VIP, and protect the important person. Similar connection is between the owner of the servoscull and said scull, or between adeptus arbites (policeforce almost the same as Judges in Dredd) and their biomechanical falcon. Another usual version of servitors are GUN servitors. Either hard wired inside static defence turret, or with legs, and with one or more arms amputated, and hardwired weapon into its flesh, usually commanded wirelessly. Servitors personality, memory and other higher funcitons are always destroyed or close to destroyed. Its basic needs are usually fullfilled by some simple infuse feeder, or something similar. Being made into servitors is one of the possible punishment of cult mechanicus member, if he decides to brake rules. It is percieved as simple punishment, because his corpse stil stays and serves omnisiah (machine god) and imperium.

But this blue guy is part of the ultramarine legion, they are like their primach/leader/father Roboute Guilliman, pretty reasonable and non religious. Sadly, I doubt you could take even the people bringing in the weapons in a fight. As the Marine is a Ultra marine the non robotic people are chapter serfs. To become a chapter serf you have to have been successful in surviving/thriving under the recruitment training but determined to lack the correct genetics to accept the geneseed and become a marine or have a "slight" mental flaw that is still viewed as stable enough to serve but not thrive on the field and have the "right" mentality.(anything else gets a bolter round to the back of the head) Chapter serfs do act as armorers but also as auxiliary fighters, shipboard naval personnel, crafts men, etc. So these are people that grew up having most likely killed numerous people/wild beasts/monsters before the age of 15, went through training that killed between 1/2 and 4/5 of them only to fall short at the last moment. Most keep themselves in combat condition just so they don't dishonor their Marine lords.

So a bit lore about the armour, what you see being put on first is the electro-fibre suit, think of it like as like a skin suit made of artificial powers that can supersede a Space Marines already impressive muscle mass several times over, this is worn to allow the Astartes to move within their armour with ease and enhance their speed and sheer strength, hence why you could see them running faster than any normal human in Astartes despite waying hundreds of kilos. The way this is connected is via a geneseed organ known as the Black Carapace, think of them as USB ports that are hardwired into a space marines nervous system which is why you see this black socket bits all over their body, allowing them to connected with the electro-fibre suit as if it were a second layer of skin and muscle. Atop of that is all the armour plating next which in of itself, isn't too special beyond being very dense and study, able to take a hard hit that would in take out IRL light tanks/IFV's per say with ease, additionally applied was the power pack or "Gas Tank" you lads called it, its a micro-nuclear reactor that houses the powerplant for the armour that allows the electro-fibres and all the computer systems in the armour to operate whilst containing other aspects such as air tanks and the likes to allow an Astartes to operate in places with no atmospheres like space. Most importantly however is the Machine Spirit, the reason why this is very ritualistic is, beyond the Astartes being seen as holy angels by many, even by those of the Adeptus Mechanicus, every machine that has a functional operation that either has a moving part (Like an engine piece) or is some kind of computer has in the eyes of the Mechanicus, a spirit, when machines are assembled like the armour, each individual component with their own machine spirit is believed to have merged together with the dominant Machine Spirit taking its presence within the armour and must be blessed by the Techpriest (The guy in the red cloak and weird looking eye), otherwise, the armour is more likely to malfunction or refuse to co-operate with its operator. The same applies with the Bolter which, combined with it being very heavy hence why Humans use smaller bolters and generally only a pistol variant without power armour or mounting stands to assist, also contains a holy machine spirit. Hence why this whole process looks like a massive religious coronation of baptism rather than your standard suit up scene from a Military Film or tactical build up like John Wick. Hope this clears some stuff up, loving seeing folks love the amazing cinematic content and I would highly recommend you watch Helsreach if you wanna do a mini-series reacting to it.

The 2 silver studs (which are actually embedded in his skull) above his eyebrow are service studs. It can vary by chapter, but the Ultramarines use silver as a symbol of 10 years of service as a full fledged Space Marine and Gold studs for every 100 years. Space Marines don't die of old age as far as we know. He is a relatively new member of the Ultramarines, but this ritual is very important as its likely his first time putting on his new armor after becoming a Primaris Space Marine. Primaris Space Marines are a new and more powerful form of Space Marine.

This armor is powered and interacts with the marine wearing it on a telepathic level. The marine thinks to move and the armor moves *with* him. No matter how much it weighs, it takes no effort to move as both man and machine act as one. Over time, a suit can adapt to it's wearer's preference and anticpate when and how he acts. The suit is vacuum sealed to fight underwater or in space. It can filter it's own air supply for weeks at a time and can mag-lock to metal surfaces to walk in zero gravity. Depending on sources marines can run about 55mph and lift between 3-5 metric tons. The armor is almost impervious to conventional small arms fire and only a direct hit from weapons designed to pierce tank armor can reliably damage one. The gun is called a bolter, or bolt gun, and is more like a rapid fire missile launcher than a regular firearm. Each round is a self propelled explosive missile the size of a red bull can. Even without all this tech a space marine is 7 feet tall on average and has a plethora of additional organs and augmentations that make them truly monstrous. And despite all this, they are just barely enough on a good day against the horrors of the 41st millennium

That Skin suit they put on him basically connects the armor to his nerves, so there no lapse in movements and all that. To make a space marine you gott be chosen at birth go through the most extreme bootcamp dependent on what Chapter you join, you then go through about a dozen organ transplants etc (3 lungs, 2 hearts, they can spit acid for some reason)

If I recall correctly, these guys are Codex compliant Astartes, so he'd be more likely to kill all of us than the techpriests... :D

The reason they are so big and stronk naturally is they are enhanced genetically and surgically ( similar to the first MJOLNIR series of soldiers from the Halo series ) they have 19 extra organs including a second heart. They can also live for quite a long time longer than a human. The studs on his forehead represent a certain amount of time served in as an Astartes (the Gothic word for Space Marine) I think one silver stud is like 10 years and the gold one is either 50 or 100.

There are 100% demon space marines. 10,000 year ago in this timeline, there were 18(19) genetic "fathers" for each space marine legion. Half of them (for all kinds of interesting reasons) basically became slave vessels to the chaos gods, and their legions became corrupted. This led to an ENORMOUS civil war across space called the Horus Heresy(Horus was the main big bad traitor). A lot of the corrupted legions became grotesque and horrible. The Death Guard are a great example of those mutations.
