1 time i was playing with 1 other guy and AI and the AI sent a BT to the home village, and almost killed the villagers until it realized "Nah i got more important stuff to do" and then died from recons
I passed it solo. Totally i used arty and infantry with supply halftrack and tank destroyer. Aslo probally i can do it without lossing any of supply depots. Capturing home is not recommended
