This was our chosen song we both loved and chose to play at our wedding in May 28 2005. Last year my partner was in a induced coma in hospital fighting for his life for five weeks only given a 1% survival..He woke up when I payed this song back to him. Thank you for a beautiful song that I believe saved his life! Miracle....
When I talk to my grandchildren about the dark days of Covid, I will tell the tales of NoJo. How she broadcast from her home. That with a sultry, smokey tenderness, she comforted those that listened. How she helped so many with her big heart and soothing sounds.
I’ve listened to this over 50? Times. The beautiful classic song and her skills on the piano and singing. And yet I want that shirt! She is so real and ethereal in the same breathe. You can hear the birds and a plane outside, it’s such a simple production yet so profound! Thank you Norah for all you share with us!
Autumn Leaves coming from that room of yours, the now familiar and comforting piano, and out of that precious soul of yours, it would be just right. Please and Thank you.
It thrills me to know the love you receive. So grateful for your love. Dear Norah_we all feel the lift of your arms. What I'm saying. We love You. Forever. It is perfect love for your gift. You.
Oh those sultry tones! Just melt away the blues forever! Thanks NoJo for sharing your heavenly gift so generously with us all! May the heavens smile upon you for always!
I feel in love with the man I will always love on an errand. We were picking out windshield wipers when the lovely Norah Jones came on overhead. We sang and danced in the aisle. I knew I would never be the same as I watched him through the windshield as he change his wipers in the rain. We are no longer one. But I thank you every day for the memory.
Listening to this on the other day ,by late night, somebody unexpected sent me fb friend request. Just sharing 🥰 . He doesn't give me butterflies, but just that still stable heart. ..
I salute her.! Very heartfelt. Such a warm and tender voice. I love the Errol Garner style piano. I am a fan for life…… In closing, this is proof that you don’t have to scream and prance across a stage dressed in next to nothing to get your message across. Many Blessings to you Sister Nora Jones.
Heaven, I’m in heaven, because of you... thanks to you. Brilliant, gorgeous, stunning, I have no word to describe what is so delightful, lovely ... thank you so, so, so .. much. Lots of 💕
My God. So lovely the sound. I love just closing my eyes and listening to Norah Jones. That lovely smokey voice and playing is enough. If someone is that good, you dont have to watch a video to see that they are good, just listen. Then again Im old and grew up not seeing videos of singers, just the radio lol. We really heard them.
One of those rare talents, like Chet Baker, whose voice or playing would be considered world-class alone... but she has both... such tenderness of tone ... beautiful stuff
My step dads song for my mother (who lost the love of her life in WWII), and Norah, I hope I do not offend you, but you took me back to the Riviera longue in Las Vegas and SASSY! (Sarah Vaughan)
Norah you are the best singer in the world, if you have been given the recognition that you deserve you would break the charts. But of course the times we are living in do not reflect the taste people want hear. Your words have won me over Norah, thank you for sharing your art with us. Just thank you.
I love to see Norah's smile from this view, but this rendition makes me want to lay on the couch behind her and close my eyes, soak in the artistry....thank you Norah, you generous soul...
Wonderful - I thought it was one of her songs - "The Nearness of You" is a popular song written in 1938 by Hoagy Carmichael with lyrics by Ned Washington. The song debuted in a 1940 recording by Glenn Miller and His Orchestra, with vocals by Ray Eberle." Still wonderful.
Good God! So raw! So real! So wonderful! So right on time, even two years after the height of the pandemic! Felt like hangin' out jammin' with a friend in the basement! ...and you can't go wrong with The Golden Girls!
