Saw it live and the finale with Dante vs. Vergil in Devil Trigger still gives me chills.

whole ChrisG drama aside, Chris/Dante is a very effective shell against Morrigan/Doom: 1. Chris laying mines and throwing grenades makes Morrigan unsure where to land 2. Dante's Jam Session clears the screen of fireballs allowing for: 3. Chris sniping Dr.Doom's assist with the magnum that's why top players need to stop autopiloting the top10 characters and explore more options outside of that. UMVC3 is a game of team matchups and hard counters. good job SenorTaxi!

Probably my favorite match yet this year. I don't have anything against Chris G but seeing anyone come out of the woodwork against his ridiculous team is so amazing to watch. I was jumping out of my chair at home watching this.

I'm just saying, when they both go Devil Trigger at 12:50, that was hype.

I've never seen someone not have the Jitters as much as Senor Taxi

I've just been told by a top player that since fly counts as a special move it can be canceled with unfly and time during the animation. not sure if that's true though.

I love how Senor Taxi jumped up and shot Doom assist through all the fireball bs. Very smart.

The only thing Chris G should blame his drops on is his nerves. Sure ps3 has some lag during intense moments but Senor Taxi's anti morrigan tech was on point and you can see just how scared and desperate Chris G was getting in his play as the matches went on.

You know its gonna be a good set when it starts with a magnum shot hitting Morrigan.

Just seeing how happy Senor Taxi was has made my day. What a great match.

Senor Taxi just exposed Chris G to the point where he just started dropping everything and making poor choices on top of already losing his gameplan to begin with. People will say that this was a fluke victory but i believe in Senor Taxi :O

...for Senor Taxi this must have been the greatest day of his life...for Chris, it was Tuesday...or Saturday or Sunday...this was a long time ago, I dont remember...yet here I am today, rewatching this for the 20th or so time...it WAS a great day, lol...this one, Ageojoe's (Kusoru) win, and Snake Eyes putting the team on his back...

This was a legendary match. Not so much the match itself, but how dominate Chris G was for the last year+ at this time. Senior Taxi played very well and beat the unbeatable.

Let's get serious here, ChrisG has played on PS3 countless amount of times. He was killing it at EVO(which was played on PS3) not so sure what other majors, but i am damn sure he has played on the console countless amount of times. Why is it till now, that the console is the factor all of a sudden

Definitely my favorite match this year, even beating the Green Ace and Champ match at Curleh this year. This match had me hype for a long time

1. Yes, they were both on the same console, so Taxi was experiencing the same "lag" that Chris G was having. 2. Everyone has been aware of that since vanilla. 3. Every tournament should announce what console they will be playing on (especially a large tournament such as this) so players can be prepared with the proper controllers/equipment. 4.Chris G got 3rd at Evo last year in UMvC3, which was played on PS3. So yes he has. 5.That's kinda hard to judge when both players have the same handicap.

While I don't agree with him taking the loss that way I kinda understand what he's saying. But in the end stuff like this is always gonna happen sooner or later and you gotta either be prepared or take it like a man. And I won't lie, I'm glad to see someone beat him for once.

That Chris Redfield vs Vergil sequence at 2:02 is so sick!! I hope that this set was legit, rather than being fixed to win $ in side bets; the last 36 seconds of the deciding match (12:15) had sooooo many drops.

i think you've missed the point entirely, it doesn't matter who uses random bionic arms, chrisg does not get hit. morrigan's unfly is 1 frame, there is no natural way to catch chrisg with a random bionic arm. if anything, i feel like chrisg expected this dude to actually play intelligently rather than depend on spamming his assists. he usually does get randomed out by somebody in tournies and still wins them though, it's just this game was actually streamed.

(as everyone already stated) senortaxi was playing on ps3 as well 2. dont most people in the FGC know umvc3 ps3 has more lag than 360? 3. did the tournament not announce in advance what consoles which games would be played on (meaning was chris g unprepared for something like this)? 4. has chris g never played on umvc3 ps3 before (legit question)? 5. if the lag was bad as he said it was, he (or taxi) should have been swept and the entire match would be 5 minutes long

you can easily tell the other guy was pretty bad, he did the thing you really aren't supposed to against chris's team, which is random bionic arms. morrigan's unfly is 1 frame and i've never seen chris get hit by a bionic arm. at this point it does seem like lag played a part, but the first game looked like a convincing win to me.

You already knew Chris G was gonna lose when his nerves were shot. He really has to move away from being an emotional player.

Its like a counter situation. Chris Cannot beat most of the cast, but proven, Chris Dante can beat morridoom. It doesn't mean Senor Taxi is the best, he's just got a chris team counter.

No matter what anyone says, SenorTaxi played his ass off in that set and outplayed Chris G, PS3 or not. Even if he didn't win the tournament, no one can take that away from him.

The I understand what you're trying to say, but Patriots didn't get multiple chances for a rematch. Chris beat FChamp in a first-to-15 as Seasons Beatings not long after EVO, and continues by beating Champ at every major where they both at after. They've probably had as many high-level rematches within the last year as the number of games the Pats and Giants have played in the last 5 seasons. FChamp maybe wearing the crown, but ChrisG is the true King of Marvel as of now.

Shoutouts to Magus for trying to hold on to as much objectivity during that match as he could. Judging by the other announcer you'd think that SenorTaxi's win signaled the beginning of the rapture.

ok, so lets say you give Chris G the benefit of the doubt that the game was lagging and he got hit because of lag. Fine I can believe that BUT how about the rest of the fucking matches, that guys Chris did work. You can't just say he lost because of a random bionic arm. If Chris woulda dominated the matches like he normally does he would have won but the other guy played well. Chris G is good but he is a baby, whenever he loses he blames SOMETHING, or he shakes his joystick furiously.

LOL, ChrisG is definitely the new villain of UMvC3 if people are this quick to upload him losing a match not even a few hours after the event. Complaints about PS3 lag are not a new thing among UMvC3 players; I was hearing them about a year and a half ago when the game came out, though can't really say for certain that's what's happened here. But results are results. Good shit to Taxi, and I hope he follows up with more tournament presence a la Apology Man. I do not envy Loser's Bracket atm.

The crowd is cheering against an over hyped fake villain, they aren't spewing nonsense about a game and culture they only experience via streams. This reaction is par for the course in matches involving a top player losing to an unknown especially if they're a local player. This is only amplified by Chris's fake "villain" status and Taxi using an obscure character.

Didn't even know that the PS3 version had some slight input lag. Regardless, if that was the case, Chris G should have switched to a team that could have compensated for that lag. Or, you know, not bitch and moan about it when he lost. Still, got to give respect to both players here. I only wish I could be as good as them at the game. Very good match.

There was so much character variety at this tournament in both Marvel and SF. It's nice to see new characters winning! ^_^ While I still love Chris G, (Morrigan is my favorite character, so I can't hate him when he uses her) I admit he got owned pretty hard and has some studying to do. As for me I'm still waiting for someone to pick up Tron/Nova and display some of the stuff I've found with them! xD

I agree that he should have given more credit to Taxi, he played probably the best game of his life in this one and that deserves acknowledgment. I don't consider Chris' play style boring because it is not purely projectile spam. He does use Morrigan for more than just projectiles. That's just me though. Also I would say generally Chris is a good sport. I met him a EVO last year and he seemed like a really chill dude. I think he just lost his cool, although that's not commendable it is human.

Now run it back in a major tourney again? I dont think he will win evo. People will be ready for em. Once Morrigan is done thats basically it
