As a man, I like to watch QVC during the holidays when they advertise electronics, foods, and different gadgets. Nordic Ware Belgian Waffler cost $74.99 plus shipping & handling and taxes. I went on Home Depot and Amazon Prime websites and they have the Nordic Belgian Waffler for $51.25. Since I am a Amazon Prime member, I ordered it from Amazon with free shipping and handling. Once it arrives, I am going to throw away my electric Belgian Waffle marker I purchased at JC Penny's 3 years ago. It is too much of a hassle using the electric Belgian Waffle maker because my kitchen counter lacks space. I can place the Nordic Ware Waffle Iron on my GE Stainless Gas Range Stove.
I have a glass cooktop stove, so heavy cast iron cookware is not a good idea. True the glass cooktop is tough, but it's NOT hard to imagine one slip up with a heavy piece of cast iron would result in a very expensive shattering of the glass cooktop. This Aluminum Waffle Iron is perfect, so much lighter, it's a bit reassuring that it reduces the risk of damage to the glass cooktop.
That thing is dangerous. It tips when you open it to put oil in it and looks like it's going to tip backwards. I'll stick with my Cast Iron Waffle maker. BUT, the idea is good with yours, it being easy to store, ect, and it does make nice looking waffles.
