Sometimes I wasn't sure if he wasn't Burt. Maybe they were twins, separated at birth. No, no, cause Burt was born pre-WWII, and Norm definitely Boomer.
I thought it was Burt Reynolds the 1sr time I saw one of these sketches (way back when). I was halfway through before it dawned on me that Burt wasn't the host, that's when it hit me that it was Norm doing one of the best impressions ever!
He was hit and miss on the show. I know the guy's gone and he was a true talent. But he just didn't always shine on SNL. Also, the modern version has a lot of funny people but it's also hit and miss. SNL can be brilliant. It can be bad. And that extends to everyone that's ever been part of the cast, even the greats.
I loved the story of Norm pitching the idea of playing Burt on Jeapordy. They were putting together a white wig for the current at the time Burt and every other celebrity was was made up at their at the time age, but Norm said “no, I want to do seventies Burt!” 😂
@Let Your L⚡️GHT Forever Shine ❤️ atheists aren't without a soul. Their soul just doesn't rest with El Shaddai. Rest in peace is a statement made in the hopes that people find peace and not torment. Regardless of what we believe, the One True Living God exists. Yeshua Ha'Mashiach et Adonai The way, the truth and the life. People ask other people to prove God exists. for real, will ferrell doesnt get enough credit for not laughing every single time. all the other characters are always more ridiculous so he gets overlooked but very few people (nobody) could play trebek so well.
One of the things I loved about Norm was after he delivered a punchline to some terrible joke, or was in the middle of an endless ''shaggy dog'' story, he would look at his ''victim'' and his eyes would just twinkle with glee, lol. You can see it in these skits. RIP buddy
My buddies & I caught a couple of these sketches w/ Norm as Burt Reynolds at least twice while we were high… I swear we didn’t stop laughing for hours - long after SNL already finished! 🤣
Burt liked it so much, he actually wanted to be on one of the sketches, where he would beat up Norm, then take the podium and end up being even DUMBER. It's too bad they never got to do that sketch.
Norm is so damn funny, I didn't realize how popular this man was. All I knew about him was from I watched on youTube starting around 2013-14 or so. And I knew nothing about the guy except I seen those SNL videos of him portraying Burt Reynolds and I was amazed how he looked and talked like the Burt. But after his passing I noticed all the fans he obviously had and started watching his videos from his channel on youTube and subscribed to it. And one thing I ab-so-lute-ly love about the guy is his HONESTY! So, I'm a fan of his for my lifetime!
Rest in peace Burt, Sean, Alex, and Norm. Overdue condolences to the families for your loss :-( . Thanks everyone for all the likes. Greatly appreciated :-)
Man, that is spot on and almost a spitting image of Mr Reynolds from Smokey and the bandit. Give this man a Pontiac Trans Am 1977… 🎶Westbound and down, 18 wheels a-rollin'🎶 Rip Norm McDonald
People will be laughing at this for hundreds of years. We’ve all watched it countless times, but still belly laugh at most of the quips. What a great video. ❤️
Totally my kind of humor! Anybody else with me? Don’t feel you have to be in the shadows it’s pretty sad stick hilarious if you ask me in Canada! I hope he entertains people up there in heaven.
That was great. I missed a lot of Saturday Night Live in the 1990s that I should have watched. Didn't realize some of the talent that was involved. I of course heard of Norm MacDonald, and knew he was with SNL. That was the best impersonation of Burt Reynolds I have ever seen. I don't think anyone will ever be able to top it. And I say that because I never seen anyone impersonate Burt Reynolds before. And funny as shit; I could not stop laughing the whole time.
I cant really say how many times I have watch all these Jeopardy episodes, I loved Burt Reynolds and Sean Connery in aaaaall these clips. Rest in Peace both
