Norm Macdonald is a personal hero of mine and I felt the need to cultivate clips that meant a lot to me. The powers that be decided this video was not suitable after it had accrued 31 years of watch time. This is a full recut where I had to remove quite a bit of content. My apologies if it seems like it jumps around. Unfourtantly the parts I had to remove provided a significant amount of context. Love norm but I don't exactly love the people who own his content.
A lot of videos were found through I'm not Norm
he has collected a mountain of norm clips. If you are looking for Norm Macdonald clips check out his channel: / @imnotnorm

One of his friends was being fired and Norm told them “if you fire him I’m walking away” and he stuck to his guns to stick up for his friend. He never breathed a word of it and allowed people to think he was fired for OJ jokes when he could have easily told the truth to make himself look good. Class act.

One of the happiest days of recent memory was when I opened my Dropbox account that I totally forgot about and saw that I had the audiobook read by Norm. It's strange because I felt like I actually knew him through his more serious interviews and he was the one person who can always make me feel better through the toughest times in my life. I caught the Carrot Top moment on Conan live with my brother and we both fell off the couch laughing hysterically. His Weekend Update performances are burned into my memory and the OJ jokes were more than just comedy; they were edgy in a way that will never be duplicated by another person. Seeing one of his last performances at the Hollywood Casino in Columbus Ohio will be one of my most cherished memories and I actually listened to it in it's entirty this morning... Norm MacDonald, you were loved by myself and millions of other people around the world, you dead chunk of coal.

I dunno why I keep watching these and making myself cry. Norm video three in a row. It hurts so much when he's joking about death and he seemed afraid, but I hope he gained peace and acceptance. It's just too much foreshadowing that makes it extra painful. I almost feel it's harsher to keep it a secret from those close to you, because you are gone and your loved ones had no clue and you might as well have been killed in a freak accident. I lost my father suddenly and young, I lost my mom after years of lymphoma. My mom was my absolute best friend I still cry every single day but I got every second to tell her and show her how much I love her and how scared I am to live without her. It's still unbearably painful but I don't have regret.

I was a big fan ever since Billy Madison came out and he started doing Weekend Update during the OJ trial in the early 90's, I watched him on Letterman and saw Dirty Work in the theater with one of my friends. We were so excited when he did the voice of "Death" on Family Guy when that show was new. Then we sort of forgot about him after his sitcom got cancelled, but he came out of nowhere in the 2010's with his cable sports show and his podcast so I got to rediscover him as an adult and realize how much funnier he had gotten. It's great to see the overwhelming amount of recognition he got after he died that is bringing in new fans.

the one thing that really hits me hard right now, at 03:27 eastern european time, is that he was always strong. so strong. making jokes around the subject but never really breaking down, only a couple of times did we see him feeling a little bit under. he had, probably according to him, so much to hide. and he did so. up until the very end. maybe he shouldn't've. but he was a strong man, indeed. fly high, king. it's already been 2.5 years.

He was a genius. I love how he'd hide his intelligence in an endearing, folksy way. He'd purposely mispronounce words and feign ignorance with things like the internet. Even though he was incredibly intelligent. He was very advanced in school, twice skipping grades ahead, and learned calculus in grade school. He comes from a family of intellectuals. His father being a teacher and his brother is a well respected news anchor for CBC world news. Norm was no slouch in the brain cell department.

I was a big fan of him from the time I watched Billy Madison and saw him on Weekend Update in the early 90's during the OJ trials. I was a huge fan as a kid watching him on Letterman and also as a teenager when I went to go see Dirty Work at the local mall. I remember it being a huge deal to me that he did the voice of "Death" on Family Guy when that show came out... He sort of disappeared for a long time after his sitcom got cancelled, but then I rediscovered him in the 2010's when clips from his cable sports show started surfacing and he started doing his podcast. It was wild to find him again and realize how he was even funnier than he was back in the day. He had a huge positive impact on me throughout my life so it was really brutal to find out he was suddenly gone. It seems like he became an instant legend the day he died and now tons more people are finding his material which is great.

I dont know if you can say Norm is the funniest person to ever live, but I can't think of anyone funnier.

The day he died, I had woken up and opened Twitter on my phone during breakfast. The first tweet I saw was SNL's message about his passing. I cried for about 20 minutes, but then started laughing because I had remembered his joke "He's dead? I didn't even know he was sick."

I'm gonna live forever I'm gonna cross that river I'm gonna catch tomorrow, now You're gonna wanna hold me Just like I always told you You're gonna miss me when I'm gone Nobody here will ever find me But I will always be around Just like the songs I leave behind me I'm gonna live forever, now You fathers and you mothers Be good to one another Please, try to raise your children right Don't let the darkness take 'em Don't make 'em feel forsaken Just lead 'em safely to the light When this old world is blown asunder And all the stars fall from the sky Remember, someone really loves you We'll live forever, you and I I'm gonna live forever I'm gonna cross that river I'm gonna catch tomorrow, now- Billie Joe Shaver (old chunk of coal)
