So true. It’s getting real. I’ve gifted 2 Olight keyring flashlights to single moms I know. A friend and colleague from work. Eased into a conversation about prepping. Surprised that both were receptive, one was very enthusiastic. They just didn’t know what to do exactly and where to start. One will be an asset for a loose prepping group, the other needs a little work and support. The first one paid me back with a bag of excellent oranges from her garden.😊 The orange crop is bad this year due to drought. The first is diving right in, the second doesn’t have much spare money. We are working on getting her bases minimally covered. I found that explaining just an extra tube of toothpaste or a few bags of rice or pasta in the weekly shopping is a step forward and will save money from inflation even if nothing happens. Berkey water filter prices have gone crazy here in Spain! Have mine but may need to go with a Sawyer or similar for them. Looks like boil orders for tap water in the South of Spain in late spring. They will be turning off the water at night, always comes out discolored when they do that. The ports in Southern Spain are being outfitted to receive fresh water by boat in the summer. Unless we have the wettest late winter/spring in decades we are in trouble. Keep rolling with the videos!
It has the potential to get really real, trouble is even groups of people that I know who "prepare" have become complacent. It's easy to do but now really is the time to look at what you've done and fill the holes. Stay safe and cheers for watching 👍
I had to watch this twice before I commented, lol. So, here are just my thoughts, for what they’re worth. I agree with what you said about normalcy bias, we do it all the time, unfortunately. Being aware of world events, etc is important. As far as other RU-vid channels, yep, a lot of fear mongering going on and that’s not helpful. Regarding WW3/Nuclear war, simply put, it’s game over, period, unless it’s an extremely limited exchange. Research nuclear winter, etc and you will see why I say that. I’ve found that people in power, politicians, want to stay in power, so any type of war, they will lose that. So, is it possible there could be a major war? Sure. Is it probable? Not in my opinion. The easiest way I’ve found to figure out what probable situations will occur, in my area, is to make a list of every conceivable situations that could happen. Then, go back through and mark the realistic, and probable, situations you could encounter. For me and where I live, it’s some type of weather event, so I plan accordingly. These preps also can help with some type of “unusual” event such as a train derailment with chemical cars, etc. In the end though, we cannot prep for everything unless we are millionaires, lol. Just food for thought.
