No she shook his sense of self and guilted, shamed and abused him since he was a baby into supplanting his own needs with hers, not to "guard him from trauma" but because she needs control over people to feel ok with herself. She needs him traumatized to control him and he kills her as a consequence of her abuse. A lot of it is subtle but if you are interested in Narcissism or related mental abuse patterns they depict it with an eerie accuracy.

As someone with DID, I have a love-hate relationship with this. The majority of us are NOT violent in the slightest. There is no such thing as an evil alter. It’s way better representation than Split, though. His acting is amazing, and I’m probably going to binge this show. But just know, most of us are not like this. We are the victims. We were abused and hurt so much that we had to create people to protect us.
@usul573
@usul573 3 года назад

Evil alters usually harm the host not other people. That disorder comes from a large amount of trauma (usually violent&or deadly) and is literally the only way that child could handle that trauma was the shatter their personality so they could put it away and not have to relive it every day.
