I saw an interview a few years ago and I never would've guessed he was in his 90's then, he stayed remarkably coherent so late into life.

Rest in Peace Mr Lear.......thank you for all the laughs and tears. Your shows are interwoven with my memories of my own family sitting around the TV watching your shows together and all of us laughing so much. I think everyone has a person they know and love that Archie or Fred or George reminds them of. What a brilliant man and i feel so fortunate to have shared this wonderful world with you.

Crazy how for the last several months on my RU-vid feed all the family keeps popping up I’m sure that’s probably coincidental? What a wonderful tribute to be reminded of how great the shows were especially at the time, and even in today’s world. If we could only learn to laugh at ourselves more, that would be a blessing. Thank you, Mr. Lear for all you did!!

Rest in power. You made some of my most favorite tv moments though 90% were before I was born. Being a late 70s baby I grew up with the reruns on tv as a background noise to my homework all through childhood. Most of it flew over my head until I turned 13...then everything you were trying to get across, started taking root, and it made me an accepting open person. I've always wanted just a smidge of Edith's ability to have unconditional love for everyone.

Though evil remains with us, you made us forget about it for 30 minutes through your craft in sitcom. You made this test of life a little more bearable. You will be missed.

Norman brought laughter and education to many millions over the decades. I was watching a rerun of All in the Family just last night and recalling what a household fixture he was with our family. Many of his episodes taught me about racism and bigotry and why they have no place in the world. And from one military aviator to another, I salute Mr. Lear for his service to our nation!
