First tour of 2019 sees us crossing the channel to Normandy to ride the North Normandy countryside and visit the D-Day landings beaches and sites.

Day one is our journey down from the Midlands to pick up the Portsmouth - Caen ferry. The journey takes us through Stratford on Avon, down the M40 to make up time lost due to commuter traffic and the school run! Taking the A34 we stop off for a comfort break at Chieveley services and to meet up with Brett and have breakfast. After fuelling up we head on down to Portsmouth veering off to take in some twisty country roads. Following a very smooth crossing, the final leg of our journey takes us from the Port of Caen to Asnelles and Gold Beach hotel our home for the next 3 nights.

Hello hope you are well I'm looking at rideing to normandy this year in July after the ABR festival and as you have already been there on your bike I would like to ask if your not to bizy what advise you have for sume one who is planning that tipe of trip and that has never riden in Europe thanks for any help

Hello Ian, thank you for watching the video and leaving a comment. The tour to Normandy was my first overseas bike tour. Advise wise, I would say Normandy is the ideal location to visit. Probably travel just before the main tourist season. Finding places to eat can be a bit hit and miss depending where you stay, we stayed near Gold Beach. Get used to riding at low speed 20mph through the villages and towns, can be a bit of a challenge depending on the bike you’re riding. All of the beaches and memorials are relatively close together so can be visited during a short break. finally watch out for the seagulls, I got a severe splattering by one of the blighters near Juno beach. 🤭 hope this helps, but please ask away if you have any more questions 👍🏻

Hi thanks for your reply I have disidid to camp about an hour from the beachs so I get to see sume. Of the inland places to as for my bike it's an 05 triumph tiger 955i as for a fixed itinerary I'm just going to see as much as possible in your opinion was going from Portsmouth the best way or would you say dover to be better as for when I'm going I'm looking at the start of July

David Rowlands we are going for 4 days so hopefully can get it all in. Just watched the whole series as been up since 5.30am 😂👍🏻 museums looks amazing.

Motourev: Motorcycle Tours & Reviews Overlord museum is incredible especially the atmosphere they create with the battlefield sounds. The American cemetery is one of the most moving places I’ve ever been. Can’t recommend the trip enough. Thanks for watching the videos 👍🏻
