Amen. It's horrible down here. Just don't even consider coming. Nothing to see here. Wouldn't you rather be in a city anyway? TV sure makes NY seem like a cool place to be.
Yes I know it! I live in north alabama all my life. It is a beautiful state with more activities to do outside than you can imagine. I love our state and disappointed hearing people criticize my state when they never spent quality time in alabama. I've been to all 50 states and they all are beautiful in their unique way.
I love it when you guys go to places that most people wouldn't think of when it comes to beautiful places. Not many people would think of Alabama when it comes to beautiful nature and fun things to do, but yall always prove that isn't the case. Every state has beauty you just gotta go find it. Great video guys!
Adam, I agree. That's something I love about the southern states, how green and lush everything is. Particularly like Asheville, NC and the surrounding area
Thank you for this video. I had no idea that Alabama had these beautiful acres and acres of green forests. The cave with the waterfall is spectacular!! And the water droplets dancing in the light was magical. 🌻🙏🐕🥰
Wowza…Alabama is gorgeous! The cave, all those waterfalls and that sunset were all beautiful! So glad you found out what was going on with my Konie girl and she is doing so much better! Great video with great drone shots! Keep traveling safe❣️😘❤️❤️❤️🐶🥰
Thanks for sharing your travel videos, especially this one from North Alabama. I grew up in North Central Alabama (Decatur) and still visit the area from time to time as I have family living there. The mighty Tennessee River is a great place to be around for camping, fishing and water skiing. I also attended and graduated from the University of North Alabama there in Florence. I especially enjoy your hiking adventures as I myself have been section hiking the Appalachian Trail starting in 2023 and continuing on this year 2024. Keep up the travels and looking forward to seeing more of these amazing videos.
My wife and I hiked Stephens Gap Cave and it was awesome! Not too long and its nice and cool in the cave and you can hang out and really cool down. We loved it! We did the same with the helmets. We got Bicycle helmets and I 3D printed mounts for headlamps.
I'm from Mississippi and I was always jealous that Alabama and Arkansas got all the mountains and all we got was flat, flat everywhere. Of course, there is my sister who prefers flat areas and lives in one in Germany. Alabama is gorgeous! Thanks for this.
Didn’t give my post-video wrap up last night as it was getting pretty late, but I absolutely LOVED your video from our state! The Tennessee River Valley is such a gorgeous area and has so much to offer! Please consider coming back one day! You guys could do a great video on the diversity of landscape you can find here! From the “mountains” of northern Alabama to the beautiful beaches of Gulf Shores to the incredible number of rivers and streams here, there actually IS a lot to see in Alabama :) I hope you get to see more one day! - GW
I was literally on my way out the door to hike and got distracted by this video. My hiking inspiration delayed my hike. 😂 Loved the video, as always. Now I'm going...
So beautiful in that area! Definitely going to make a trip there! The waterfalls and caves are just stunning! Kona you are precious and you have a good Mom and Dad caring for you!❤ Enjoying seeing some more of the beautiful USA! 🇺🇸 ❤
I loved the beautiful relaxing music in this one and the nature sounds. Very pretty places. Alabama is one of the states I haven’t been to either. I enjoyed your trips to other countries, but I really like your USA trips. They just seem something more attainable to me. Thanks A+K+K!
So glad you finally visited our beautiful state! Welcome! Hope Kona is doing better. To bad you missed some of the other Bankhead falls. They are spectacular! But you still did alright hitting several of my favorite North AL places. 👍
Alabama is such an epic place with so many hidden spots. You guys hit up some great highlights for sure. I live in the Talladega national forest and love it here!
What a BEAUTIFUL video! I am forwarding this to my son who has recently moved outside of Chatanooga, TN. I think he would love the Walls of Jerico Hike. So beautiful!! Thank you for sharing. ❤
Hello Adventures, ABSOLUTELY AMAZING Views of waterfalls and all those green hills. About 4 years ago we had a family reunion on top of an AMAZING hills as far as you can see in Huntsville, Alabama. It was such a great time. I know Rhode Island is on the list. OUTSTANDING!!!
I love that you guys actually explore the states you are in and don't just visit one place to check it off your list. Love all your videos and excited to follow along with your journey east❤
@@Southernman887 thanks for the info! We definitely need to come to Alabama and other southern states next time we come to the US, but the USA are so big and so many beautiful things to see :D We enjoy watching A+K videos, as they give us some nice points to see, like titus canyon in Deatch Valley, and the million dollar highway we could enjoy last year on a long family trip. But they also show too many beautiful things ;)
Just watched the video and enjoyed seeing you enjoy some of our favorite spots. North Alabama really is amazing so you have just scratched the surface! Safe travels!
Beautiful video! I grew up in north Alabama, and know most of those places. I don't usually think caving is my thing, but you made that cave look so beautiful I might have to overcome my fear! I think you visited at the perfect season. Any earlier and the leaves aren't on and there is no shade; any later and the heat gets brutal. Thank for showcasing our state!
Home! ❤ Absolutely love seeing y’all explore North Alabama. I grew up near Desoto Falls in Mentone and now live in the Huntsville area. We have enjoyed the Walls of Jericho a couple times but the uphill hike on the way out is a little rough 😅
Beautiful waterfalls and a super-neat cave. Loved the shot of the water droplets backlit. I'm probably the only one but all I could think of was the soundtrack to Deliverance.
My husband and I love that you find so many little-known and under-appreciated, but absolutely amazing, places to visit in the U.S. (Alabama! Nebraska! Who knew?!) Also, your website is GREAT; we used it when planning our last two road trips. You obviously do a lot of research and work really hard. Hope Kona is feeling better.
Born and raised in Florence AL . Very small town vibe with a happening college scene. Very beautiful nature too. Now I live in Spokane WA and love it up here as well. I do miss the green nature, thunderstorms, and the crickets at night. Hope you guys enjoyed downtown. It's a hidden gem for sure but I enjoy the mountains out west too much
You really showcased the natural beauty of North Alabama...and spring is the best season here. I live here but every year my husband and I say we need to go to Cheaha in the fall. Maybe we'll make it this year. Thanks for the great video of our home state!
Touring a GOAT farm in Door County, Wisconsin (Gelato + BABY goats! 🐐)----I FINALLY FOUND IT, WE WANT TO GO HERE! Bummer, I thought it was in Vermont for some reason. We are planning a trip from Maine to Key West then on to New Orleans, etc. You're such an inspiration and our fav travel youtubers!!!!!!!!! 5 star review!
Thank you for showcasing my home state! I haven’t been to several of these spots, but your amazing video highlighted the beauty of N. AL , so I have some new places to explore this fall when I go to visit family!! 🤟🏼 Hope Kona is feeling better!
Oh, those nature sounds - love hearing the birds and water and everything else stirring around you! Your enthusiasm when you find a hidden gem (like those waterfalls in the cave) are so fun to watch - makes me smile every time! Adam's rock slip and added sound effect while walking also make me chuckle. Love that added touch of fun! In all your graffiti alleys you've strolled, ever seen an artist at work? Thanks again for sharing!
haha Kathryn did me dirty by including that slip in there! 😜 just kidding it was pretty funny! We don't recall seeing anyone working in one of the graffiti alleys, but I do remember seeing someone in the process of painting a giant two story mural in one small town we visited. That was pretty cool. We stopped and asked him how they heck you do that! Thank you!
Stunning waterfalls!!! Spring is my absolute favorite season to hike in the Eastern US (better than fall imo). You just can't beat that vibrant Spring Green!
Beautiful video guys! Hope Kona is feeling better. We love Alabama we’ve toured both Muscle shoals & Fame also Mobile is a fantastic visit. Loved the caves & the drone shots at the end were epic! ~Cara 😊
Another awesome video. So cool that after the incredible experiences you had in Vietnam, you were able to have equally amazing experiences in US locations that aren't even well known. That cave in particular knocked my socks off. I trust Kona is fully recovered by now. Ask your vet if she might benefit from cranberry supplements.
This is so beautiful! I had no idea Alabama had all these trees, caves, hills, waterfalls. Since I’ve never been to Alabama, I believed it was all just swamp land. I would love to visit Northern Alabama! Absolutely beautiful!! Are there alligators that far North?
I love you kids so much!! You are so very brave and wonderful!! Take us to beautiful places a and cannot thank you enough!! Grammy says have a little baby to take in your adventures and make me happy!! You will be fantastic parents!! Love from Maine!! Xxxooo
Wow! Y’all hit some wonderful spots & nailed it once again! Thank you for showcasing our beautiful state! Sorry Kona, glad you’re feeling better though!!
So my mother's cousins were the Trowbridges who lived in John Day, Oregon, and were ranchers. That part of her family came over on the Oregon trail. So I guess there's a possibility that there's sort of a distant cousin thing with the ice cream parlor. Cool!
Thanks for showcasing our area of northwest Alabama. And it was pretty cool to see you guys head down to Brush Creek Park, down in the Wright community. Where the volunteer fire station is located right before Brush Creek, those houses across the street from the VFD is where my mother grew up back in the 1950's, and 60's. Hope yall at least took the quick trip to Waterloo, and get a glimpse of one of the first incorporated towns in Alabama. I'm sure yall didn't get to visit Tom Hendrix's wall in Lauderdale County, off the Natchez Trace Pkwy. If you don't happen to know what that wall is about, you should look it up. It's a very heartwarming story. And if you already knew? Then hey! You're ahead of the game lol. You guys imo picked the best part of Bama! Hope Kona got well really quickly, and got to enjoy more adventures with you two. Loved this! And yeah! I'm a huge fan of both #MetallicA🤘😝🤘 🏈 Roll Tide! #RollTide and Roar Lions! #UNALions #AdventuresOfA+K
We had a wonderful time in Northern Alabama! We still have a lot more to see there! As Texas Longhorns we are excited to play Alabama more often for the foreseeable future! Sorry about Saban...it was a ridiculous run!
@@AdventuresofAplusK Well, it was going to happen at some time or another, better to expect it than not. I've wanted to see Texas join the SEC since A&M joined in 2012. I'm not the most excited about the direction the game I love is headed. But I know eventually I'll come around to it. Alabama welcomes you guys always and take care. #RollTide #Hookem
On our way to summer camp every summer we stop at Little River Canon and hike down to our favorite swimming hole. I found this place while kayaking the river. The scouts and their parents love it and always want to come back. It is a short 20 min hike down to the river, along hugh overhanging cliff's. There are usually some climbers on the rocks on the weekend. On our way out we pass by Little River Falls and Desoto Falls. During the winter we take one of the week long holidays and set up camp somewhere and do day trips each day around he area. While the walls of Jerico is relative new but has gotten really popular. Most people don't realize how much there is to do in north Alabama.
Im from Springville Al and love to do these hikes. Thank you for coming and highlighting our beautiful nature😊Love your videos. Just got home from Indiana Dunes because we saw your video on it!
Alabama local here. We're definitely an underrated state (which helps keep it uncrowded!). There are a number of other beautiful spots here, but I think that Little River Canyon deserves special mention. A lot of people here consider it the most scenic place in the state.
Hey Wesley! We had a blast in Alabama and were really blown away! We planned to check out Little River Canyon, but it is National Park managed site and they require a permit to film there. We reached out about getting a permit and never heard back.
Poor Kona Baby bless her heart, hope she is feeling better now. The waterfalls were amazing. I had no idea that Alabama was so pretty. Thank you for sharing. Your videos are awesome. I enjoy them so much. Have yall ever hiked the Appalachian Trail? I live in North Carolina, and we sure have some beautiful mountains to explore.
Definitely have to check out your channel my fiance and I are exploring America for anniversary instead of going overseas and hitting a few states instead.. this is a cool spot
So cool! When y’all got to DeSoto Falls, Judson yelled out “A PLUS K WENT TO WHERE WE WERE!!” Walls of Jericho Trail has been on our list for a while- we’ve gotta go check that out!
Omg,the cave look like Son Doong cave in Vietnam 🇻🇳 guys, but i think it is smaller, it is beautiful. I love Alabama.I miss Vietnam :)also see yours country how great it is🇺🇸❤🇻🇳
I had no clue that the highest point in Arkansas at mtn magazine 2753 feet was taller than the highest point in Alabama mind blown. Figure since the smokies are there they'd just be taller. Both are referred to as islands in the sky. Very beautiful oasis yall stumbled on and absolutely gorgeous hiking
Bless Kona for being unwell. Never realised dogs could get UTI's but it does make sense. The waterfall at the start was stunning - toothpaste blue water, the free camp spot 😍 and the old school ice cream shop was awesome. I had a weekend away here in the UK last month and there was a old school ice cream shop that was along those lines, but the prices were about 3 times as much - I guess racking up the prices because it's so old it's come around and is trendy again. It was nice to see sensible prices on their board! Such a shame about the waterfall on the Walls of Jericho Trail - I've recently been editing a hike we did in Morocco where we had a similar story. The reward for the hike was meant to be the waterfall at the end before turning back, and it was a trickle! I did laugh at your sound effect editing when Adam slipped. The sunset at the end was such a beautiful way to end the Vlog. Never knew Alabama had such stunning countryside! As a side note, I'd struggled to find the time to listen to the Podcast you did for you friend's 100th show, and the other weekend, I was in Bulgaria and my flight was cancelled with work the next day. I spent a small fortune on last minute flights hopping across Europe to get home (thankful for travel insurance) but it was a much longer day than I'd expected. I downloaded the podcast and it was SO lovely to listen to you both recapping on your year last year. I could picture it all after having watched all the videos! It was also brilliant at keeping me calm
That is a bummer about the hike in Morocco! That country is on our bucket list as well! Luckily on the Walls of Jericho hike there was plenty to see otherwise so the dry fall at the end was okay. Haha Kathryn got me with that sound effect too! Oh thank you for listening! It was so awesome finally getting to meet him a couple weeks ago! Travel insurance definitely comes in handy some times!
Great video! You just got a little corner of the state, there's so much more to see. I have to sheepishly admit that I live here and haven't seen most of these places. I need to get out and explore more of my home state! Glad the pup is on the mend. :)
There is tons to see and do in Alabama - lot more than most people think! Unfortunately that is all we had time for on this trip so we'll definitely be back!
You two always seem the most happy when you are out exploring some new sight or local Mom and Pop restaurant. Maybe that's why I enjoy your videos so much. What's your secret to finding some of these amazing places? I know about All Trails, but some of these spots seem to be out of the way, hidden and known only to locals. P.S. How's Kona feeling?
We love exploring overlooked or underestimated places! We usually just search "best things to do in ____" and that turns up a lot of good stuff most of the time. We also have a blog post on our website that talks more about how we plan our trips: adventuresofaplusk.com/how-to-plan-a-trip Hope that helps!
