I moved to Phoenix 10 years ago from Camden. I never thought I would live to see North Camden cleaned up. There was literally heroin on almost every corner. People everywhere. That's good to see progress. May not seem much to many viewers.. But that place came a long way. Thanx for the vid Fam!! 👍
Damm Hell yea everybody moving over here phoenix I never use to see black folks over here in North Phoenix up until reasonly they come from all over Mid W & East coast.
They replaced the police department a few years back when Chris Christie was still Governor. People are able to trust the police now and are willing to cooperate without PIGS 🐖🐖🐖 arresting them for every little thing. Result is that crime is much reduced. But there's still room for improvement both on the PD side and on the street side.
Unbelievable. I just found you yesterday...a soc. major, I feel compelled to follow you! but this is breaking my heart! Where are the PEOPLE in these neighborhoods? Where are the laughing, playing children? Where are the moms that should be sweeping the walks and porches? Where are the grandparents that should be sitting on porches with lemonade? I'm totally baffled! Where have I been all my life? Not at these place, thank goodness! People PLEASE get out and vote next month. Truly. We need another President like Obama WITHOUT a GOP congress. If we don't do something and do it FAST we are shit outta luck, as they say. :( These videos are totally terrifying to me. CharlieBo, thank you. Our nation needs a wake-up call. I certainly did. I knew it was bad, but I had no idea HOW bad. We really need to get off our butts and fight for this country before it's over.
Driving down one of these side roads, you can sometimes never tell whether someone is strolling down the block or about to pull a gun on you... This guy's got balls the size of Alaska.
You gotta have some grapefruit sized balls to drive around these areas in a car that sounds like it could crumble into 30 pieces at any moment....congrats on the massive cahunas and thanks for the addicting videos bruh.
The modest houses seem very well maintained. If there were some decent sized trees here and there, it would resemble some downtown Toronto neighbourhoods with these sort of modest houses attracting over a million dollars (US). A lot cleaner too than Toronto.
2:00 please don't make fun of that behavior in the road, that "person" suffers from gender dysmorphia and identifies as a Chrysler 300...his alignment is a bit off
Definitely a repressed area, held down in its current state by an endless cycle of inadequate education, high unemployment, widespread substance abuse, and lack of investment from the outside for upgrade and upkeep. This keeps the residences in a low moral state, and keeps the crime rate high. Any creativity towards personal or communal improvement is stymied. Even going out for a walk to get exercise puts one in a vulnerable state. In downtown Los Angeles, where I had a condo at 5th and San Pedro, I lived practically in Skid Row. There, we have a super concentration of the mentally ill, the substance abusers, along with active criminal element - all in a homeless situation, where tents line the street all along San Pedro. The main difference between there and what I am seeing in this clip, is the police presence, both uniformed and plain clothes. Also, there is a strong community-based policing, where the shop owners are actively on the look out. One further difference, is that the Skid Row in Los Angeles is considered neutral territory by gangs. You can walk around with red or blue Converse high tops, and no one will challenge you. For North Camden, other than the remote chance that a wave of gentrifyers are eyeing this place for a possible turn around, I don't see anyone wanting to come here to live, but rather everyone, at some point or another is dreaming of a way to Get Out.
@@celestebell9992 really? That’s a ridiculous and incorrect statement. We live in America where anyone can move - anytime they want. You don’t like your surroundings - do something about it. I moved from my small town in New Hampshire to Florida 30 years ago with a measly $500 in my pocket and no job waiting for me. I’ve done great. Don’t try to pander your pity party bullshit on me.
The same way people do in the mountains, farmlands, and hoods throughout the USA. Just mind your business and stay out of the way. I’m from North Camden and truthfully it’s just as good and bad as everywhere else
@@donbrujo7953 that’s absolutely not true. I live in South Florida, in a beautiful neighborhood near the beach. It’s 1 billion times nicer than that shit hole neighborhood in Camden.
I sure as hell wouldn't drive a nice car in that shit hole. It's a good way to get mugged or carjacked. It's best to be driving a complete piece of shit if you want to live.
Best bet is to put a Maserati engine in a piece of junk body. That way, he doesn't have to worry about breaking down, and if he gets carjacked anyway, he can escape.
What I always notice in these communities, no matter what the city, is the number of late model vehicles in good shape. Nothing that you wouldn't see at a shopping mall parking lot in the 'burbs. So there are at least some people with $$$.
I might start doing a similar thing in England that CharlieBoi does here. I live in Surrey and there are some areas that have neglected their herbaceous borders and left their bins at the end of the drive.
The 70s, 80s and 90s....North Camden was a dangerous place to be. Too many bars n open air drug markets. I'm in Exton, PA now. North actually looks a bit cleaner now.
What about Scampia, sheffield, liverpool, glasgow, cova da moura in Lisbon, Kuregem in Belgium, what about paris, mairseille, malmo?? And not even start with eastern europe...
How exactly is scampia (Napoli) better from chicago neighbourhoods? This one, for example, is from slovakia - infamous Lunik 9 (Unemployment rate 99%): ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-pLtrZfUEaVo.html
In early mid 90 forget exact year, there was a major hurricane that made it in land to this area ,my cousins an i got stuck at a gas station in bad part Camden, we slept there un car over night,i think all on ramps were blocked go back towards better parts, any how all night we had people coming up to the car, these were not the best people lol,but i really thi k we only made out unharmed because we had 2 little children with us!?
What were these places like pre-2008? Were there less abandoned buildings? Were more businesses open? Have they changed significantly over the last ten years?
I lived in West Oakland during Oakland’s heyday as the murder capital of the USA (09). One thing you don’t really hear about with bad ghettos is the lack of grocery stores. We had to go about 5 miles to get to a Pack’N’Save in Emeryville. As you can see here, there’s only liquor stores that have frozen food or hotdogs. I only lasted 5 months at the location, and thank god bc there were shootouts every night.
I have one but I'm not active on it at all. I'm not really fond of Patreon, they want too much from you. I just like to create and post content. With Patreon you have to solicit people to donate on and off Patreon and then donate to others who donated to you... etc. I thought it was just ad based revenue like RU-vid.
As someone from a 3rd world country who use to see America through Hollywood eyes, I am astonished of how much these places look like the neighbourhoods I live.
Camden is a small city, and everybody knows each other. That can be worse if you live there and have beefs with people. But if your visiting and you mind your own business you will most likely be OK. Newark is a large and busy city so your more likely to be a victim of random crime. Big cities are always worse for that reason to me.
CharlieBo313 Thats how it kind of is where I'm from everybody knows eachother or knows somebody thru another person grew up with them etc. But there are guys who beef with eachother but its more you speaking on us or you robbed my homie fights gettin shot at you know the usual but if you not in that lifestyle for the most part your left alone. People have been robbed randomly house broken in to cars broke in to but not that big of a problem.
CharlieBo313 That's true I remember it was the year 1995 I was about 7 years old (and I'm from Trenton) I was visiting and staying with my cousin (she's from Trenton too) at her college campus at Rutgers Newark and we got robbed broad daylight on college campus on a Sunday it was 2 niggas with 2 guns they randomly stuck up 2 young women college students and three little kids coming from church on a Sunday.... My cousin's friend from college took it so hard because the niggas took a lil gold necklace that her grandmother gave to her before she passed away...... Shit Deep!
You know what do i find strange.. in about 80-85% of these videos.. not one police car can be seen..or a police just walking down street showing their presence..
If there is anyone racist & full of hatred is you here.. & am not white.. am central south asian.. we might not have been enslaved by the white men but we have suffered almost as much as blacks & still suffering to this day.. Have a good day.. spread love than hate..
Are there any nice areas of Camden? Detroit has a revitalized downtown section and some wealthy neighborhoods with beautiful homes. Old money I presume. I see quite a few of the streets have been repaved. It's not all bad.
g bridgman downtown Camden is pretty nice. They have Cooper Hospital which is expanding and they’re building a ton of shit. Rutgers is also downtown, North Camden. It’s probably the best area even though it’s near the transportation center where a lot of drugs come in and out. For sure, Camden needs a lot of work, but I think it’s getting better.
80s_kid. 🎥 this people is a typical racist white response from a troglodyte. You see when they're confronted they will flip the script. No white racist will ever admit that they're white racist. They used to be so proud to be a white racist back in the fifties and sixties. Now they're conniving slick slimy deceptive Cesspool Creatures ✔
InkCricket C blah Blah flobadobadobadob, thats what that shit means to me, it means nothing to me, i mean What are you talkin about ? what's wrong with you man, was you beat as a child or something, bitter twisted or what, wow summin goin on upside yo head.
i think he drives a utility vehicle, like a service van - i'd go for a dry cleaning (if i was filming this) or pest control, then, you can roll around and nobody will rub you out/ knock you/ jake you/ hence the squeaky ride, nobody sticks up a dump truck.
Rich person: I got to pick something up here I’m gonna leave my Rolls-Royce here Criminal: oh nice car I’m going to steal it. Rich person: MY ROLLS ROYCE IS GONE!
Guy wit gray hoodie black book bag & beard 0:40 then again at 2:31 look how he holding that book bag the second time you see him he on a whole different side of North something in that bag he willing to die for 😐😂
...where the 'less-than' and 'not like us' all fell victim to genocide. Blight is easy to avoid if you kill everyone you feel is a potential threat to future travel ads and pretty pictures suggesting a utopian paradise. You'd better hope that the 'god' you mentioned is non-existent or, if real, wasn't watching.
Alot of ppl from camden will tell you. North side had no yards back then. All those lots, yards, gardens were all homes. The riots did a huge number on northside, along with the crack era. 70s 80s 90s. Really beautiful ppl there. It's exactly like n Philly. Only divided by the river.
Williamton Delaware is bigger then camden too so it's a lil more shittier camden was once a city with 100k in pop now only have 75k dew to crack robbery's murder extortion and ect. Sense the late 60s when H hit lol that's when you started feeling it in the air the whole east coast was the first in organized crime
Parts like williamton Delaware was focused drug hubs camden especially thats why the decline in population I'm just saying only reason camden more recognized is because they rite near philly basically if camden nj was swopped with williamton Delaware you wouldn't hear or know nothing about camden
I went to stay with my homie last yr in rockaway queens i wanted to see the rocky statue in philly so on the way back i told him to take me to camden which was risky cuz i had my duaghter her cuzz my girl and her cousins in the car which was a very big van pron similar to this i was out there a few hrs ans let me tell yall camden aint no joke esp at night
Holy Shit. The place is DEAD these days. The Camden sets always turn tail when it gets hot. Philly don't run. I have never seen that place that empty. I haven't been there in years, but damn. This is like a Twilight Zone episode. Where the hell is everybody? That place used to be jumping. Oh, and I saw somebody hyping the Northgate Towers in another video. Nothing goes on outside. All the action is inside. DOn't waste your time driving by. We love you, Mr. Charlie
Dennis L.P. yeah too many murderz! Lived on 4th n York across from Sasha’s!!! Been away for 6 years now. Worder how it is now! Heard a few lil adjustments. Like there’s a Burger King over by North Gate!
