When it comes to getting an LLC, what stage should your business be in? Still on paper(rough draft) or closer to 90% done??

That's a great question! You should consider organizing an LLC at the point where business decisions start being executed. At that stage, the business may not be up and running but preparations are underway. Preparatory actions may involve entering into legal contracts, e.g. a lease, or incurring costs and expenditures (e.g., getting a business website, etc.). Hey TRUiC, I got a question, hope you can help me. On section 2 is asking for my name and business address. I'm the only member and organizer and do not have a storefront or principal address. My question is should I put my hired registered agent entity as business address, my home address or leave it blank? Let me now please, thanks in advance.

The business address(es) required in section 2 is the address of the organizer. It can be any mailing address where the organizer wants to be contacted and is sure that they will receive mail sent to that address. It's not recommended that an organizer use either the registered agent's address or home address as their business address. Consider using a P.O. Box or virtual address for organizer address, as well as the principal address of the business.

If I want to start a few different companies over the next 5 years. Do I start an LLC for each or do I start a parent company with the smaller companies within in it

Thanks for the comment! There are a couple of options for this. The simplest, and least expensive option is to form an LLC and create several brands within it by filing doing business as (DBA) names. Each business would be completely connected to each other as far as tax and liability goes. This isn’t necessarily a bad thing. It could be a nice, simple thing unless you need liability protection between the businesses. If a business owner needs liability protection between each LLC, like if one LLC does some investing or other risky business venture, then they would set up a holding LLC that owns child LLCs. You can use zenbusines or legal zoom. These professional sevices do them for you for a fee. Ein can be done for free on the state's website

The legal name of a corporation can be changed by filing Articles of Amendment with the Secretary of State in the state where the corporation is registered, after the Articles of Amendment have been approved by shareholders. In North Carolina, a corporation name change is made by filing Form B-02 Articles of Amendment Business Corporation or by calling (919) 814-5400.
